"What is this place?"

The short middle-aged man humbly bowed and invited Yan Jian to follow him into the woods, but Yan Jian stood firm outside the forest, unwilling to follow easily.

The short man bowed, "As you can see, it’s a forest."

"Isn’t it a hotel?" Yan Jian squinted as he looked over.

"No, it’s not." The man resolutely denied it.

"Since it’s not a hotel, I won’t go in." Yan Jian turned around to leave.

The short man never expected this and was stunned for a mont before hurriedly catching up, "Why are you leaving?"

Yan Jian turned back to stare at him, "Because I agreed to et soone at a hotel. But since this clearly isn’t a hotel, maybe I’ve co to the wrong address."

Feeling helpless, the man had to say, "You’re not wrong, you’ve co to the right place."

Yan Jian stared at him, "I’m sure I’ve never t you, so how can you be certain I’m in the right place? Could it be that you recognize ?"

The man looked troubled as he glanced toward the woods before finally bowing his head, "Yes, I know it’s you."

Yan Jian sneered, "Then you must also know who I’m eting here, right?"

The man had no choice but to nod, "I know."

Yan Jian laughed brightly, "Really? Then you need to tell our identities so I can go in with peace of mind. If there’s a mistake, I also need to verify the identity."

The man clenched his hands tightly and sighed again, "Miss Tang, Young Master Jas is waiting for you. Please rest assured and co with ."

Only then did Yan Jian smile with satisfaction, offering etiquette as she bowed slightly, "Alright, please lead the way."

From a distance, the scene of her talking with the man was all captured through a long telescope. Even the words she spoke were transmitted through a small microphone on the man’s body into soone else’s ear.

Blue eyes tightened behind the ancient long telescope.

She is cautious, perhaps due to being born into such a legal family lineage; but how could he not understand the intention behind her questions?

He couldn’t help but grimace.

Little girl, does she know how truly cunning she is?

.

Along the way, Yan Jian followed the short man, vaguely feeling like Alice stepping into a mystery. And the gentleman ahead seed to be a big rat turned savvy, as if he could suddenly stop in front of a big tree and then a big hole would open under the tree, and they would fall down together.

Her imagination was running wild, so when the short man did lead her to a large tree, she was truly startled and quickly lowered her head to look at her feet.

Her attention was all on her feet, so she was completely unprepared for what was above. When a ladder woven from soft vines descended before her eyes, she realized, instinctively thinking a snake was dropping from the tree, and backed away several steps in fright.

It was only then she discovered that the mystery wasn’t at her feet but above her head.

She saw a gigantic tree towering above, with a large treehouse built on top!

Yan Jian pointed up at the tree, speechless.

The short man just laughed, "Yes, this is Young Master Jas’s treehouse. So this isn’t just a forest, and it’s not a hotel either."

After saying this, the short man turned and left, with a smile as he looked back, "I forgot to introduce myself, my na is Adam."

Yan Jian turned her head to watch Adam walk away, muttering to herself, "And where’s Eve..."

But with Adam and Eve, plus such a forest, well, it seed to fit the story.

.

Once Adam was out of sight, Yan Jian resignedly looked up to the top.

The vine ladder was soft, which was a major challenge for a girl.

Yan Jian had hardly any chance to do such climbing since childhood, making her hesitate and look around for help.

Adam, being such a small man, couldn’t help her get up even if he tried.

She looked up at the treehouse. From this angle, she could only see a small section of latticework under an angle, with reflections of lush foliage on the window glass. Although at a quick glance, she couldn’t see what was inside the glass window, Yan Jian seed to catch a glimpse of a shadow flickering at the window.

Yan Jian couldn’t help but place a hand on her chest.

Was this a horror movie?

Additionally, he had clearly arrived, but was hiding here, unwilling to show himself, constantly watching her?

Coward!

.

Her heart filled with annoyance, Yan Jian let go of her girlish reservations and reached out to grab the vine ladder, carefully climbing upward.

The soft ladder was hard to use for support, and halfway up, it began to sway and spin in mid-air.

She was sowhat afraid, closing her eyes, afraid to look down. Her hands clutched the ladder tightly, the vines biting painfully into her palms.

What is this? Is Jas testing her?

If she can’t climb up, does that an she has a perfect excuse to leave?

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but open her eyes and look down...

Escape, it’s still not too late to escape now.

This sha is not sothing she should endure; she shouldn’t succumb to his pressure, she should flee far away.

At least she can escape ho, with the shelter of such a family, she doesn’t believe he truly dares to do anything to her.

.

At that mont, there was a rustling sound above, and the door adorned with golden leaves opened.

Jas stood at the door, wearing a cal-colored English-style tweed suit, leaning on a thin cherry wood cane, looking down at her coldly with blue eyes.

"I thought the Tang Family was strong, turns out you’re the exception. Trying to escape, huh?"

"What did you say?" Yan Jian gripped the vine ladder, glaring up angrily: "Don’t involve my family in our matters. Also, you have no right to criticize our Tang Family!"

Jas snorted, squinting at the defiant young girl. Clearly on the verge of wanting to escape, she ultimately bit her teeth and climbed up step by step with difficulty.

She fell into the trap.

Turns out she is just as stubborn as he is.

Even if the task was not sothing she wanted to do, was daunting, yet for her pride, for that defiance related to her pride, she still pushed herself to co back.

At the entrance, he extended his cane to pull her up, but she waved it aside, forcing herself to climb up.

It’s just a treehouse, she knew that there were many treehouse hotels in the world, so is it still a hotel?

She was annoyed, tidying her dress while looking around.

A very large treehouse, connecting several large trees together from all directions. But it can be seen that the construction wasn’t completed in one phase, but there are traces of several phases.

Yet the furnishings inside the room were not done in the style of hotel accommodation. Not ticulously done, nor luxurious, everything seed a bit simple, but very comfortable, making one not feel restrained and rather relax.

The floor was covered with a carpet woven from fine plant twigs, with soft dead leaves and moss stuffed in the gaps; and the large bed in the middle of the house was made from logs.

The only thing in the whole room that can be considered luxurious is the mattress, soft and thick, making one want to lie down and sink in.

The mattress was covered with rough plaid blankets, balancing out the incongruity brought by the luxurious mattress.

There was a wooden shelf by the wall, inside which were neatly arranged tin boxes. These tin boxes were all ordinary discarded cookie boxes, canned food boxes, and there were even beer cans.

Yan Jian was surprised, looked up at Jas, thinking in her heart: Which treehouse hotel would be decorated like this?

.

During these few minutes, she’s observing the treehouse, while he squints his deep blue eyes observing her.

When she finally t his gaze, he proudly raised his eyebrows: "I built it myself."

Yan Jian didn’t expect this, her heart skipped a beat, "Oh?"

He avoided her gaze, walked over to pick up a can of beer, stepping to the window to sit down, through the window in the wall, looking far at the woods that started blushing and golden.

"Before Huangfu Huazhang exiled to Europe, I had always been expanding this place. All my teenage leisure ti was spent here."

Yan Jian didn’t want to delve too deeply, she just nodded slightly: "I see. You did well, although the craftsmanship is a bit rough, considering your age back then, it’s quite okay."

Jas squinted upon hearing that: "Who are you comparing to? Your elder brothers, or your father, uncles?"

The displeasure and disdain in his expression were obvious.

So, it turns out he looked down on her brothers, even her father and uncles?

She retorted with a sneer: "I’m comparing you to my grandfather. Does that make you happy?"

For so reason, she recalled the scene when her grandpa spent thirteen years, painstakingly completing the old house assembly, and the whole family officially moved in.

Her little brother used to say grandpa liked playing with building blocks; so this treehouse is just another form of building blocks?

Do all n intrinsically love building blocks?

But Jas squinted upon hearing this.

Is she calling him old?

He walked over, lifted her chin with the cane: "Don’t think too much; soon you’ll understand that I am completely different from your grandfather."

Yan Jian frowned, only then understanding what he was saying. Her face reddened with annoyance, reaching out to push away his cane: "Really? But you’re clearly using a cane now. My grandfather used a cane, Huangfu Huazhang has bad legs and uses a cane, so naturally, do you!"

Jas closed his eyes, forcing himself to calm down for several minutes, reminding himself not to really get angry with her, or he would fall into her trap.

He threw away the cane and strode forward, grabbing hold of her slender waist.
