"Middle Ages."

Yan Sheng was painting on plain porcelain when he spotted Tang Yanqing, hands tucked in her pockets, leisurely walk in. She was holding a strand of Yu Huan’s fur—straight from her head.

All Yan Sheng could do was put down the brush, knowing silence was no longer an option: "Aren’t you supposed to be at work today?"

Tang Yanqing laughed, "On vacation. Just got back from Singapore, I’m exhausted."

Yan Sheng sighed, "Look at you with those shifty eyes, you’re definitely not here for vacation. Co on, what’s up?"

Tang Yanqing grinned, giving Zan Hua a sidelong glance, then reached out to touch Xiao Kai’s face, much prettier than a girl’s: "These two kids are getting more and more beautiful." Then she leaned in to whisper to Zan Hua, "When do you get off work? Seventh Brother will take you to a movie?"

Zan Hua gave her a sidelong glance, "Judy’s body is not yet cold, and Seventh Young Master is already lonely again?"

Tang Yanqing burst out with a face full of popcorn, not angry, and shifted towards Xiao Kai. Xiao Kai, a boy, sported silky long black hair and wore a black silk shirt. Seen from the side, he was more delicate than a girl. Tang Yanqing leaned all his weight on Xiao Kai’s shoulder and playfully scraped Xiao Kai’s cheek: "Kai Kai, how about Seventh Brother takes you out to play?"

Xiao Kai didn’t budge, still gracefully holding a curved-spout copper teapot: "Seventh Young Master, is it really okay to flaunt your taste for good-looking n in front of our boss like this?"

Even Yan Sheng couldn’t watch anymore, instructing Zan Hua and Xiao Kai to take a break and go for a walk, then he shut the store door: "Yan Qi, stop tinkering with my people. If you’ve got sothing to say, say it straight."

Tang Yanqing grinned toothily: "Nothing much, just noticed Zan Hua and Xiao Kai are looking more stunning. I also heard Yan Yu say that Big Sister is encouraging their romance."

"What’s wrong with that? You ntioned they both look so good together; plus, they grew up together in this shop, aren’t they a perfect match?"

Tang Yanqing sat down and sipped the tea Xiao Kai had just poured.

"...They’re both grown up now, brought here by Big Sister from Asia, and old enough to date."

At this point, Yan Sheng raised his eyebrows slightly.

"So that’s what you wanted to say. Well, isn’t it settled now, no illegal immigration problems anymore."

Neither of the two kids had legal status initially, and Yan Sheng worried about an immigration check when they were first brought back. Luckily, the Tang Family is a family of lawyers and helped the two kids resolve their identity issues. Even so, the process dragged on for years, going through several hearings, and even Old Sir Tang personally wrote several guarantee letters, finally wrapping the case up neatly.

Because of this, Yan Sheng personally apologized to each mber of the Tang Family. She had always been ticulous, the big sister among the grandchildren, but because of this matter, she nearly brought big trouble to the Tang Family. This might have been the only reckless thing Tang Yansheng did over the years.

Tang Yansheng nodded with a smile, "I’m just curious about these two kids’ origins... Back then, when I asked Big Sister, I was still in my scoundrel phase, and Big Sister didn’t tell ; what about now, can Big Sister tell ?"

Tang Yansheng lowered his gaze, quietly drank tea, and after placing the cup down, slowly said: "This is a secret between the two of them and , even to the Tang Family, I won’t say. It’s my way of protecting and respecting them."

Tang Yanqing raised her eyebrows, "What if I’m asking in my capacity as an officer?"

Yan Sheng raised his gaze, "Yanqing, what do you an?"

"The literal aning." For the first ti, Tang Yanqing put on a serious face in front of her big sister: "It turns out Big Sister not only collected old furniture and beautiful trinkets in Asia but also beautiful children. Zan Hua and Xiao Kai must have been around 12 years old when they ca to our family, right?"

Tang Yansheng’s face paled, "This case has the best ending already, why bring it up again?"

"Because I want to know these two children’s origins. Big Sister, you know I wouldn’t harm them, and as an officer, I have the right to inquire. I just don’t understand why Big Sister refuses to tell until now. Is it too embarrassing, or—is Big Sister intentionally hiding it?"

Tang Yansheng took a deep breath, "Mr. Tang, you have the right to inquire, but as a lawful citizen, I also have the right to remain silent. If you think I’m involved in any case, please present the clear details and contact my lawyer."

Tang Yanqing took out her phone, brought up Feng Ling’s picture, placed it gently on the table, and pushed it in front of Tang Yansheng.

"Big Sister, does it look familiar?"

Tang Yansheng glanced and narrowed his eyes slightly: "It’s my design. The prototype cos from patterns in old books on French construction, a rare style now. I thought about replicating them using ancient thods. Why? What do they have to do with Zan Hua and Xiao Kai?"

"I’ve seen them." Tang Yanqing lowered her gaze: "Right at the cri scene of ng Chuyan’s case. It appeared before she died, and disappeared after she died."

Even though she was surprised, Tang Yansheng maintained a composed surprise. A faint smile crossed her face, "But didn’t they say she committed suicide?"

Tang Yanqing took a deep breath, "Big Sister, I’m asking you now to tell the origins of Zan Hua and Xiao Kai. If you are a suspect, I don’t want to be the one to personally bring Big Sister to the precinct... but at the sa ti, I’d rather it be who takes you in."

Tang Yansheng squinted, "I said I must protect those two kids, making sure no one knows their origins. Even if you are my brother, my most beloved brother, I still won’t tell you."

"Mr. Tang, I’m sorry, but if you’ve finished asking, please leave. I need to continue my business. If Mr. Tang finds enough evidence to arrest , then we’ll talk about it later."

A sudden knock on the glass window.

The two turned their eyes to look and saw Luo Xiansheng outside. The store door had been closed by Tang Yansheng to facilitate the conversation with Tang Yanqing, so Luo Xiansheng couldn’t enter and was peering inside from the outside.

Seeing him co, Tang Yansheng frowned slightly.

Tang Yanqing, on the other hand, walked over to open the door, and the two exchanged awkward smiles.

"So you’re here too," Luo Xiansheng said, sowhat sheepishly.

Tang Yanqing remained lazy: "My eldest sister said she’s let you go, what are you still doing here?"

Luo Xiansheng looked up: "Yanqing, I want to talk to Da Sheng alone."

"Enough!" Tang Yansheng interrupted coldly: "The two of you, I have nothing to talk about. Please both of you leave my store, I need to open and do business!"

Luo Xiansheng was startled and looked at Tang Yanqing with a pale face: "What did you do?"

Tang Yanqing shrugged.

Little Sound naturally wouldn’t have it, grabbing Tang Yanqing’s arm: "Your eldest sister loves you the most, no matter what you did from childhood, she never loses her temper with you, let alone speaks to you like this. You must have done sothing that made her very angry, broke her heart. Tell , what exactly did you do to her?"

Tang Yanqing seriously observed Luo Xiansheng.

Luckily, his concern for the elder sister was genuine, with no pretense.

Tang Yanqing then turned and walked outward, shrugging his shoulders: "Want to know? Then co with ."

Perhaps it’s ti to talk.

Visitation room.

George walked in and stared at Tan Yan Yi.

She had gotten thinner.

George smiled and sat down, waiting for the guards to leave before asking with concern: "Xiao Yi, you need my guidance for sothing again, don’t you?"

Tang Yan Yi lowered her head, fingers tightened: "It’s nothing, just a bit upset. There’s no place to go, so I ca to see you. I’ve given you so many days, have you thought of any evidence yet?"

George remained calm and unhurried: "What is it that’s troubling you? Tell about it."

Tang Yan Yi took a deep breath: "Singapore, ng Chuyan’s case, you surely know about it."

Because of Father’s confession, George’s suspicion had been temporarily removed. However, the news of Father still being alive couldn’t be spread, so George had to temporarily remain in prison. However, the treatnt had improved, like Qi Xiuqi and Father, he could watch TV, read newspapers, and receive outside information.

George nodded: "Isn’t the case already solved? She committed suicide. Why are you upset about it?"

Tang Yan Yi frowned, George then smiled: "I guess... it’s because of the relationship with Tang Yanqing, Mr. Tang. You like him, and he had publicly pursued Judy, so you can’t let it go."

Tang Yan Yi gave a cold laugh: "This ti, you’re wrong! If I only considered her a rival in love, but she’s dead, what do I still have to care about."

George raised his eyebrows too: "If not that, then why?"

Tang Yan Yi sighed again and lay down on the table sadly: "...because of my little brother, I checked ng Chuyan’s background a long ti ago and found she’s a girl without a past. From this, we concluded she was adopted and was housed by an illegal private adoption institution."

George nodded: "It’s not surprising. M Country is so big, there are countless private and even illegal adoption institutions. They either use the children to make money themselves or act as interdiaries, sending those children to families who need to adopt."

But his words still seed to miss Tang Yan Yi’s point, she shook her head in distress: "You don’t understand... I’m not talking about legal or illegal, I’m saying that she died, and I’m extrely, extrely, extrely sad."
