Over half an hour later, vehicles drove into the tunnel one after another, followed by dense footsteps. The Processing Bureau and city security personnel finally arrived.

As teams of people approached and entered the large space inside the tunnel, they saw Long Sword lying across the way and Chen Chuan sitting on a nearby concrete pier. They also saw two motionless bodies trapped in the ground.

"What happened here? What's going on?" An officer from the Processing Bureau quickly walked to Chen Chuan , asking with a frown.

Chen Chuan looked up at the officer and said calmly, "Two people tried to attack . I was just defending myself."

"Self-defense? What about those two bodies?" the officer asked again.

"They attacked first. I was just retaliating," Chen Chuan explained calmly.

Another officer walked to the bodies and examined them carefully. Then, he looked up and said to his colleague, "These two did indeed attack with knives. Judging from the wounds, it appears Mr. Chen acted in self-defense."

"That's good. Seems like justifiable defense," the first officer nodded and turned to Chen Chuan , saying, "Mr. Chen, we need you to cooperate with us for further investigation. Please co with us."

"No problem," Chen Chuan stood up and followed the officers away from the scene.

At the police station, Chen Chuan truthfully recounted the entire incident. After investigation, the police confird that Chen Chuan's statent was true. It was indeed a case of justifiable defense, and the case was quickly closed.

However, when leaving the police station, Chen Chuan couldn't help but ask, "Who were those two people? Why did they attack ?"

The officer in charge of the case sighed and said, "According to our investigation, these two were mbers of a small criminal gang. They had committed so minor offenses in the city before, and we have been tracking their whereabouts. We didn't expect them to encounter you here today. It seems you inadvertently stumbled upon so secret of theirs, so they attacked you."

"I see," Chen Chuan nodded. "Can I leave now?"

"Yes, you have cooperated with our investigation. We have no further need for your assistance," the officer said. "However, if you encounter any suspicious situations in the future, please report them to the police as soon as possible. We will arrive as quickly as possible."

"Okay, I understand," Chen Chuan nodded, turned, and left the police station.

Back at ho, Chen Chuan let out a long sigh. The events of the day had left him sowhat exhausted, but fortunately, he had ultimately turned off.

Considering today's encounter. It seed that the two people were part of a small cri.

He was inadvertently bumped into. In order to cover up his secrets

At that ti, he was able to get rid of their attack.

Picked up the phone on the coffee table and called an old friend.

"Hello, it's ," Chen Chuan said.

The voice of an old friend ca from the other end of the phone: "Chen, is that you? What's going on? You sound a bit off."

"It's nothing serious. I just ran into a little trouble on the way ho today," Chen Chuan said simply.

"Little trouble? What happened?" the old friend asked with concern.

Chen Chuan briefly told his old friend about his encounter in the tunnel today.

"Oh my, it sounds like you've run into a lot of trouble. But I'm glad you're safe," the old friend said after listening. "Those people seem to be part of a small criminal gang. You must be careful not to encounter any more dangerous things."

"I know. I'll be careful," Chen Chuan nodded. "But I'm also very grateful that I reacted in ti to get away from their attack."

"That's great."

The old friend breathed a sigh of relief. "By the way, is there any recent movent? We haven't seen each other for a long ti."

"Nothing special, just been busy with work lately. But I've been thinking about changing my work environnt and taking on new challenges," Chen Chuan said.

"Changing jobs? That's a big decision. Do you have any specific plans?" the old friend asked.

"I don't have any concrete plans yet, but I've been keeping an eye on so erging industries to see if there are any suitable opportunities," Chen Chuan said. "After all, I've been in this industry for so many years, it's inevitable that I'll get tired of it."

"I understand. Changing to a new environnt and accepting new challenges might be a good choice for you," the old friend said. "But you still have to think twice and don't make any impulsive decisions."

"Yeah, I'll think carefully," Chen Chuan nodded. "By the way, have you had any new developnts recently?"

The two chatted about their recent situations for a while and finally hung up the phone.

Chen Chuan put down the phone, leaned back on the sofa, and closed his eyes. Today's encounter left him sowhat exhausted, but he was also grateful that he was able to escape safely.

Maybe it's ti to consider changing to a new work environnt and accepting new challenges. After all, I've been in this industry for so many years, it's inevitable that I'll get tired of it. But he still had to think twice and not make any impulsive decisions.

Chen Chuan took a deep breath, opened his eyes, and decided to take a shower to relax. He would think about the problem carefully tomorrow.

After taking a shower, Chen Chuan felt much more relaxed both physically and ntally. He changed into comfortable ho clothes and walked to the kitchen to prepare a simple dinner for himself.

Just as he opened the refrigerator, the phone suddenly rang. He picked up the phone and saw that it was the police officer from before.

"Hello, is this Mr. Chen?" The officer's voice ca from the other end of the phone.

"It's . What happened?" Chen Chuan asked with so confusion.

"Mr. Chen, I'm very sorry to bother you. I have a few things I'd like to confirm again," the officer said. "When we conducted a further investigation into the background of the two thugs, we discovered that they seed to be connected to a larger criminal group. We suspect that you may have inadvertently stumbled upon so secret of theirs, so they attacked you."

"I see," Chen Chuan nodded, "What do you want to confirm?"

"We would like to ask you to recall again whether you noticed anything suspicious in the tunnel or any suspicious people before the attack," the officer asked. "The more details, the more helpful it will be for our investigation."

Chen Chuan carefully recalled the situation at the ti and then said, "I rember seeing a few suspicious cars parked near the entrance of the tunnel before entering the tunnel. But I didn't pay too much attention at the ti. I just thought it was a bit strange."

"That's great. This is very helpful for our investigation." The officer's tone revealed a hint of excitent when he heard this information. "Can you describe the characteristics of those vehicles in more detail, such as the color and model?"

Chen Chuan carefully recalled and tried to describe the characteristics of those vehicles in as much detail as possible.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Chen. This information is very important to us," the officer said after listening. "We will continue to investigate this case in depth, and we will inform you of any new developnts in a tily manner."

"Okay, I understand," Chen Chuan nodded. "Then I'll hang up. I wish you success in your work."

"Thank you again for your cooperation. Good night," the officer said and hung up the phone.

Chen Chuan put down the phone and frowned with so worry. It seed that the size of the criminal group might be larger than he had imagined. They had actually set up an ambush at the entrance of the tunnel and wanted to attack him. It was really terrible.

But he was also grateful that he had reacted in ti to escape from their clutches. However, this incident also made him realize that he might have been living in a dangerous environnt all along and that he could encounter accidents at any ti.

Maybe it's ti to consider changing jobs and staying away from these dangerous factors. After all, his own life and safety are the most important things.

Chen Chuan took a deep breath and decided to start looking for new job opportunities seriously tomorrow. In any case, he had to get out of this dangerous environnt as soon as possible and start a new life.
