Chapter 400: Chapter 393: Demonstrating Respect through Violence

Ge Zhengxiang swore he had only seen a physique as perfect as Gu Yu’s on television.

Every muscle was appropriately distributed over his fra, every sinew solidly connecting to his bones.

With just a slight movent, Gu Yu’s muscles rippled like a chain reaction, each one slightly bulging as if ready to unleash their formidable strength at any mont.

“Gu Yu, aren’t you exaggerating a bit? How did you train?”

Ge Zhengxiang’s mouth was practically watering.

This was definitely not because he had any special interest in n; it was pure envy of Gu Yu’s perfect physique.

Even national-level athletes probably couldn’t compare, right?

“Uh…” Gu Yu hesitated for a mont under the envious eyes around him and then, looking earnestly at Ge Zhengxiang, said, “I was born this way.”

Ge Zhengxiang: “???”

Was he kidding him? Perhaps so people are naturally less prone to gaining weight or simply have a lower body fat percentage, but Ge Zhengxiang absolutely did not believe anyone could naturally have a body like a bodybuilding champion’s.

“What brand of protein powder do you use? Can you share so tips?” Ge Zhengxiang suddenly leaned toward Gu Yu and whispered in his ear as if trying to steal so secret technique.

“Hey, don’t bother asking. This is all dead muscle; you could knock down with one punch.”

Not knowing how else to explain, Gu Yu placated Ge Zhengxiang.

Without waiting for Ge Zhengxiang to press further, he vaulted over the ropes at the edge of the ring and stood in the center of the platform.

He then gave Hu Yang, who was also ready on the other side, a provocative middle finger.

“If you’re a man, co up here and fight .”

This ti, Gu Yu chose not to hold back; Hou Yun’s words reminded him that sotis, one shouldn’t lose the sharpness of youth.

He had beco increasingly humble due to the surge in his abilities, and while humility was a virtue, too much could lead others to think him an easy target.

Like Hu Yang, for instance, you couldn’t reason with him.

If Hu Yang understood reason, he wouldn’t have made insulting remarks about Wu Shaohan and him.

Only by knocking Hu Yang down with his fists could he make soone like him admit defeat.

“Hmph, you may look like you’ve got so fancy moves, but a pretty exterior doesn’t represent inner strength.”

Hu Yang climbed up too, and even though Gu Yu’s perfect muscle definition intimidated him, he still spoke tough.

“Whether I have strength or not, why don’t you try and see for yourself?”

Gu Yu leaned forward slightly, his right fist drawn back, counterbalanced by his left leg, ready to attack.

“Hiss, he’s getting ready for San Da…” Sitting below, Ge Zhengxiang’s attention was fixated on Gu Yu; seeing him getting ready for battle, he gasped.

If he wasn’t mistaken, Gu Yu’s posture seed to be one of preparation for a strike in San Da, with his power-packed right fist at the back, his body leaning forward, and his legs coiled, ready to launch a powerful blow at his opponent at any mont.

Witnessing Gu Yu’s stance, Hu Yang’s gaze also sharpened. Although cocky, he wasn’t oblivious; having years of free-fighting experience, he could tell if his opponent really had the skills.

And clearly, Gu Yu had training, so Hu Yang put away any underestimation, clenched his fists, and positioned his legs slightly back, also ready for combat: “Let show you what fighting is about.”

Gu Yu smiled calmly. “I practice San Da.”

Then he turned to Ge Zhengxiang below the ring. “Ge, there are no restrictions on techniques here in the ring, right?”

Ge Zhengxiang hastily shook his head. “No, boxing, San Da, free-fighting, MMA—all are allowed. But there is one rule that must be followed: no hits to the vital areas, and it’s best to stop at the point of contact.”

The fighting room was designed for the energetic male soldiers to vent their energy.

Since everyone had different skills, they were naturally allowed free rein.

After all, they couldn’t possibly just be competing with Capture Palm and military boxing on the platform, right?

They had long grown tired of practicing those disciplines.

“Great.” Gu Yu nodded. “Then, Ge, please be our referee.”

Ge Zhengxiang replied seriously, “No problem, I’ll referee fairly and impartially, and there are plenty of witnesses around in the fighting room.”

“Then I declare, after a countdown of ten and the ring of the bell, the fight officially begins, and as for the judgnt of victory or defeat, as long as one side falls and doesn’t get up within ten seconds, that will be judged as a loss!”

Ge Zhengxiang pulled up a chair and took a large bell down from a rack.

“Ten… nine…”

He didn’t delay but started the countdown right away.

Instantly, the atmosphere tensed up. Lin Xinyue, watching Gu Yu on the platform already sweating from the heat, clenched her fists, bit her lip, and silently cheered for Gu Yu.

Everyone around held their breath, hearts pounding.

For so reason, everyone felt an inexplicable nervousness.

Such battles happened daily in the fighting room, but Gu Yu’s arrival as the newcor had drawn everyone’s attention to what would otherwise be just another ordinary fight.

“It begins now.” Gu Yu lowered his stance slightly more.

From the mont the countdown began, in his mind, the battle had already started.

And across from him, Hu Yang was doing the sa, slowly tightening his fists, searching for Gu Yu’s weakness in hopes of knocking him down in one strike.

Only then could he prove his dominance.

“Two… One! The match officially begins!”

“Dinglingling—”

With the countdown over, Ge Zhengxiang loudly declared the start of the match and rang the bell in his hand.
