Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Making a Talismanic Soldier Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Making a Talismanic Soldier Qi Yingpeng would never expect that his well-intentioned matchmaking would plant the seeds of disaster for Shi Hao.

Thus, sotis good intentions can lead to the wrong outcos.

There was no helping it, Qi Yingpeng was an Alchemy Dao master, yet when it ca to matters of the heart, he might not be much better than Shi Hao. These forceful matchmaking etings were truly low-level.

However, Shi Hao didn’t mind and, after resting for a day, his Soul Force had fully recovered.

The competition had not yet started, and Qi Yingpeng was handling the alchemy, so suddenly Shi Hao found himself with nothing to do.

He went to the material shop and bought a lot of Talismanic Soldier materials.

He was going to start making Talismanic Soldiers.

A so-called Talismanic Soldier is an object which locks an attack within it through special ans, ready to burst forth on encountering an enemy.

While a Talismanic Soldier made by Shi Hao himself wouldn’t be as powerful as his direct attacks, he could produce many of them, and if he were to launch all of them at once… it would still be quite terrifying.

However, making Talismanic Soldiers not only consud materials but also Soul Force, so Shi Hao only made so as a precaution.

He intended to make two-star Talismanic Soldiers, which corresponded to his realm, so the materials were much more precious than those for one-star Talismanic Soldiers.

Shi Hao spread out a hide, specifically one peeled from a Thunderstorm Tiger. The Thunderstorm Tiger was a two-star Ferocious Beast with the rare Thunder Elent, and although the hide no longer had any offensive abilities, it had an excellent communicative effect with the Thunder Elent.

Therefore, the attack locked within this hide would, of course, be of the Thunder Elent.

Shi Hao held a brush, dipped in ink; this too was derived from the Thunderstorm Tiger, further enhancing the compatibility with the hide to increase the power of the Talismanic Soldier.

He concentrated, channeling his Soul Force, drawing the Thunder Elent from the heavens and the earth, then locking it into the Blood Ink.

When it reached a peak, he finally pressed the brush down.

There was a technique to this; it wasn’t about haphazard scribbling. Otherwise, the Thunder Elent wouldn’t be locked in and would quickly dissipate entirely.

Shi Hao drew a Thunder Talisman, and when the final stroke was done, he revealed a smile.

The Sudden Thunder Talisman was complete.

He continued, producing one Talismanic Soldier after another with his hands.

The materials for Talismanic Soldiers were diverse, each with different attributes, and Martial Artists were usually limited to their inherent attributes, but for Shi Hao, this was not a problem.

He could extract any elent, communicate with whatever attribute of the elent matched the material, then draw the corresponding Rune.

After two hours, Shi Hao had created eighty-one Talismanic Soldiers, but he had exhausted himself in the process, feeling as if his soul had been drained and left in a daze.

As the day passed, the day of the competition arrived.

Shi Hao and Xiao Hei set off, while Da Huang, the big yellow dog, stayed behind to guard the house.

Both had already registered and received their number plates. Upon arriving at the competition field, they followed the directions where each number corresponded to a resting room.

Shi Hao and Xiao Hei separated. Shi Hao entered a room and saw that there were already nine people present, but although there were ten chairs, only one person was sitting.

This person was quite domineering. He sat on one, rested a foot on another, and stepped on a third.

Even so, shouldn’t there have been seven chairs left?

Yes, there were seven empty chairs, but the other eight people only dared to look and not one dared to sit.

Shi Hao looked at the sitting man – a figure in brocade around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, with an upturned nose as if it was about to reach his forehead, and his face exuded an air of arrogance.

Shi Hao took a chair and sat down.

Hiss!

In an instant, there were sounds of sharp intakes of breath; the eight others looked at him with shock, and so even seed to see a madman.

That domineering man too raised an eyebrow, showing displeasure.

“Stand up,” soone whispered, signalling to Shi Hao with their eyes.

Shi Hao looked at him and asked, “Why?”

The man was so frightened that he quickly turned his head away, as if he wanted to disassociate himself from Shi Hao.

Shi Hao couldn’t help but chuckle. Did he look like a fearso beast?

“Get up for Young Master Ceng,” the domineering man spoke, “and then kneel.”

Certainly, it was an unreasonable request, but coming from his mouth, it seed as though it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Are you not going to hurry up and stand!” At this, those standing around started to yell at Shi Hao.

So guessed that Shi Hao might be unaware of the bully’s identity, and reminded him, “This is Ceng Xingye, the seventh young master of the Ceng Family! You know the Ceng Family, right?”

Ah, no wonder he’s so overbearing.

Shi Hao smiled and said, “Even so, is there any need for you all to be this afraid? Didn’t you co here to compete in martial arts? Now you don’t even dare to take a seat; what are you even doing here?”

Though their faces reddened, the eight of them looked at Shi Hao with an expression that seed to say, ‘you don’t understand’.

Indeed, there can be only one champion, and they knew they couldn’t be the one, but impressing the big shots in the competition would still curry favor.

Even if they didn’t succeed, they could still catch the eyes of female spectators. Perhaps they could attract the attention of so young lady from a large family?

“You’re quite arrogant, lad!” said Ceng Xingye coldly. He had spoken for so long, yet Shi Hao still hadn’t gotten up, let alone knelt to beg for rcy. How could he not be angry?

Shi Hao shook his head, “Compared to you, I really am not that arrogant.”

He was only arrogant, domineering, and utterly cold when faced with his enemies.

“Haha!” Ceng Xingye laughed twice without mirth, glanced at the remaining eight people, and said indifferently, “All of you, attack together and beat this fellow up for .”

The eight of them exchanged glances, all hesitant to make a move.

This was a blatant violation of the competition rules. Being disqualified was only the beginning; they could even face severe penalties. How could they dare?

Ceng Xingye showed displeasure and added, “What, you’re afraid of breaking the rules and getting punished but not afraid of enraging Young Master Ceng?”

His threat made all eight tremble.

It seed all of the current generation of the Ceng Family had a violent streak, with Ceng Song being the most notorious for nearly beating his clansn to death, and this one wasn’t much better.

Shi Hao shook his head and stood up.

Ceng Xingye imdiately sneered, thinking that Shi Hao couldn’t take it anymore.

But did he think that by doing so, he could avoid trouble?

Wrong!

Being this good-looking, just seeing him was an annoyance. How could he feel content without beating him thoroughly?

Still, it wouldn’t hurt to play around with him a bit first.

“Kneel—Hey!” Just as he started to order Shi Hao to kneel, he saw Shi Hao actually taking steps towards him.

What’s happening?

“They call ‘the one who beats up all who disagree,'” Shi Hao said with a smile, reaching out to grab Ceng Xingye.

“How dare you!” Ceng Xingye bellowed, leaping up and throwing a punch in retaliation.

His strength wasn’t weak; he was at the third stage of Soul Nurturing, but what was that in front of Shi Hao?

As Shi Hao reached out to grab, Ceng Xingye’s retaliatory strike was pitifully weak and didn’t pose any threat.

With that grab, Ceng Xingye was easily captured.
