Chapter 624: Darkness

Nan Hua felt that she was having a long dream.

Starting from darkness, she started to recall the days when she had her own consciousness.

It was strange.

But she had her own consciousness from the ti when she was still in that tube in the laboratory. Her consciousness ca and goes from ti to ti, but during that period of ti, she could listen to the words of the people who ca.

She didn’t understand.

But she could rember it very well.

It was only afterwards did she start to learn how to speak that she understood what they were saying. They were monitoring the situation in that place, the strange place with countless tubes located and countless babies were left.

When she was awake, she would be able to hear their words.

But most of the ti, she would not understand what they were saying at all.

And there were also tis when she woke up that they were busy with other things in the laboratory as there was sothing that happened. She could only rember the alarm and later on, she knew that it was because there were so children who couldn’t survive.

Nan Hua never knew how long it took for her to co out of that tube.

Her consciousness ca and goes.

Later on, she seed to have been ’born.’ She could stay awake a bit longer, but most of the ti, she would be sleeping. And it was also during this ti that she learned the words and tried to understand the world where she was.

Most children would never rember their mory when they had only been born. Their mory would be blurry at this ti.

But it was different from Nan Hua.

She was able to rember everything during this period of ti and managed to learn the language.

Living in that lab was not that bad. No one tried to interact with her or anything. All they did was nothing more than to watch her and do so strange test with those machines.

That kind of life finally changed when soone ca to the laboratory.

And they brought away all the children in accordance to their family mbers. That was the first ti Nan Hua ever t with the Nan Family.

Old Master Nan, Nan Hai Yan, Lin i Yu, her older brother Nan Xian Yu, and her younger brother Nan Xian Mu.

One by one, they ca to her life.

In her dream, Nan Hua felt as if she was reliving her life with her family mbers once more. The mory that had long been buried by her because it was too painful to rember them when she was facing those things in ga Organization was brought up once again.

Because it would only remind her what she had lost and would never be able to obtain anymore.

And it was painful.

Nan Hua didn’t want to keep on torturing herself, so those happy mories were all buried deep in her mind. What she let herself rembered was the day when her mother was the one who sent her away.

She was there.

She knew what Nan Hua would experience.

And she let it happen.

Nan Hua let the hatred remained, but over ti, she just grew numb. The life in ga Organization was extrely bad, so bad that many tis, she just thought about how to die in the best way.

And as more and more people died in her hands, she understood that she had embarked on a path of no return. A path where only death would follow her.

It was terrible.

But for so reasons, she rembered her promise with her grandmother and kept on moving forward.

Even if she herself felt that it was aningless at tis.

Now, she felt as if she was relieving the three or so years ti she spent in Nan Family.

It was warm and comforting.

This made Nan Hua almost forgot about the days she spent in those hells.

But she also knew that while this was all real, it was nothing more than her past that she had buried in her mind and never dared to recall if possible. Now, it just sohow resurfaced.

And slowly, her mory replayed the days of her last mission.

Nan Hua had long steeled her own heart.

She was only able to maintain and continued her mission if she did that. Because she knew that if she was being swayed, it was more likely that she would never be able to finish her goal.

Because at that ti...

She want to live.

Want to live a completely different life that she never had the chance to experience.

Want to strive for a dream life that she longed in her entire life.

But it was nothing more than hopeless wish.

Because Nan Hua knew very well that there was no way out for herself. She knew that she would die and that the organization would never let her go. They even cut off the chance for her to beco incognito through her mission.

Nan Hua knew it all.

So she chose the best ending for them all.

To use her own death to cause massive damage to their plan so that it would never be able to succeed.

This will make her feel that what she did was more aningful.

At the sa ti, she was fulfilling her promise.

The promise she made.

As she was looking around in the darkness, Nan Hua faintly felt that soone was calling for her. She looked around, but she was still in the sa Nan Family compound, which was actually nothing more than a dream.

She felt as if she was the one who constructed this place in accordance to her own mory.

And the call got louder.

’Hua’er.’

"Who is it?" Nan Hua asked back. Her voice had returned to the ti when it was still childish like how she was when she was young.

’Co back...’

Co back?

Can she?

Nan Hua blinked her eyes and felt that sothing seed to pull her away. She let the force took over and soon, she opened her eyes in a completely different place.
