The rewards for the first kill of a Dark Gold Grade BOSS were astonishing.
Two hundred free stat points ant that even if Tristan distributed them evenly across the four basic stats, each one would get fifty points!
Even though Tristan had already completed the hidden difficulty of his class advancent quest, giving him far better growth potential than an average player, this much stat increase could rival him leveling up four or five tis.
On top of that, he also received twenty skill points—definitely a nice bonus.
With the leftover points, Tristan now had 22 skill points, ready to boost so of his skills further.
But the rewards didn't stop there.
In this battle, all three thousand goblins in the valley were wiped out, and Beast Skull was having the ti of its life, accumulating over thirty evolution points in one go.
Whether he evolved Shadow Stealth to Dark Gold Grade or leveled up a skill to Gold Grade, either choice would bring significant improvents.
And that was just the start—there were still the drops from Bonecrusher itself!
Scattered around Bonecrusher's body were six glowing Dark Gold-grade orbs!
The only downside was that there were no over-leveled drops, no epic-tier loot.
But Tristan was still satisfied.
One must learn to be content.
Having sacrificed its soul to Deathbringer, Bonecrusher was now dead, and Deathbringer would soon co to collect.
Tristan rushed forward, quickly gathering all the Dark Gold-grade loot.
Then he stepped aside, waiting for Deathbringer's arrival.
Before long, a black mist began to spread.
Deathbringer pulled Bonecrusher's soul out of its body, voice dripping with displeasure:
"Goblin, your performance was utterly disappointing."
It had granted Bonecrusher the upgrade to Dark Gold Grade, a significant power boost, but the BOSS had died in no ti.
Deathbringer hadn't even been able to react before it was over.
"You're useless, after all."
Bonecrusher's soul trembled, struggling to escape but unable to.
Deathbringer's anger was clear—the consequences would be severe.
Its soul would surely face its punishnt.
Absorbing Bonecrusher's soul into the black mist, Deathbringer didn't leave imdiately. Instead, it turned to look at Tristan, praising him:
"Little one, we et again. Your power has grown quickly. Perhaps we'll truly et soon."
Tristan thought to himself, I don't want to et you.
Who didn't know that Deathbringer took lives without blinking an eye?
If they truly t, there would be no negotiation—it'd be a one-way ticket to trouble.
But outwardly, Tristan kept a respectful tone:
"I look forward to it."
Deathbringer didn't respond imdiately, pausing for a mont before speaking again:
"To make our eting happen sooner, I've decided to gift you sothing."
Tristan's heart skipped a beat.
A gift? Why the sudden kindness?
Deathbringer was up to sothing—nothing ca without a price.
He had never heard of Deathbringer being this active.
Normally, when it appeared, it was either to collect sacrifices or harvest souls.
Now it sounded like... it was excited to et soone? Was that... anticipation?
Ridiculous.
Lost in thought, black mist swirled around, and a beautifully crafted box was pushed toward Tristan.
Unable to resist, Tristan asked, "What's this?"
Deathbringer didn't answer, simply enveloping the box in mist and disappearing.
Tristan could faintly hear Bonecrusher's screams floating in the air.
Its suffering was only beginning.
Tristan kicked the box with his toe, preparing for an explosion, expecting a trap.
But the explosion never ca—the box lay quietly on the ground.
Since it wasn't a bomb, then it really was a gift.
He picked up the box and opened it. Inside was a crystal stone, glowing with an ethereal radiance.
[Talent Upgrade Stone: Legendary Item. Can upgrade talent level.]
Wait, what?
Tristan could hardly believe it. The first Legendary item ca out of nowhere, and it was this sudden and unanticipated. He had no defenses against it.
His Sniper God talent had always been LV1.
It wasn't that Tristan didn't want to upgrade it, but talent upgrades were notoriously difficult.
A Talent Upgrade Stone was a Legendary-grade item—where would he ever find one?
And now, Deathbringer had just handed him one.
Tristan was in a daze. This was an incredibly valuable gift.
It forced him to consider Deathbringer's true intent.
But after much thought, he couldn't make sense of it.
In the end, Tristan decided not to dwell on it and used the Talent Upgrade Stone directly.
Ding! Your talent level has increased! LV1 → LV2!
[Sniper God LV2 (SSS-grade)]
Effect 1: Ranged attacks always hit and deal true damage.
Effect 2: For every ter between you and the target, damage increases by 20%.
Just as Tristan had expected, after upgrading, Sniper God's damage bonus had increased.
"If I max out Sniper God at LV10, does that an my damage will increase by a multiplier for every ter of distance?"
Tristan sucked in a breath.
At the late stages of ExoGenesis, when player stats were in the four or five-digit range, attack distance could be asured in kiloters.
With Sniper God at LV10, at a thousand ters, his damage would increase by a thousand tis!
At ten thousand ters, that would be ten thousand tis!
Such an absurd boost made Tristan realize sothing important.
Was Damien Arrow's talent actually Sniper God?
If so, in his past life, he likely never had a chance to beat Damien.
Even with his seven-stage jumps, Damien could shoot him down before he even had a chance to close the gap.
He wouldn't stand a chance.
"So where did this Sniper God talent actually co from?"
Tristan wondered.
It was clearly related to Damien Arrow, but not entirely.
He had a vague feeling that his rebirth was tied to a deeper conflict.
Maybe he should look into Shadow Power more closely.
But that would have to wait.
For now, there was no point in overthinking it—he needed to focus on improving himself.
Tristan quickly let go of his thoughts and turned his attention to the Dark Gold-grade loot.
The mont he laid eyes on it, his heart began to race.
It was... this thing!
[Proof of the Overlord (Dark Gold-grade item)]
Effect: Reduces equipnt level requirents by 10 levels. Equip it in your inventory to activate.
The description was simple, but the effect was incredibly powerful.
A 10-level reduction ant that with Tristan's current level of 15, he could now equip up to level 25 gear!
With his current strength, taking down BOSSes was no challenge.
Level 25 BOSSes? No problem!
Getting the Proof of the Overlord ant that if Bonecrusher had dropped any equipnt Tristan could use, he could equip it right now without waiting until level 20!
The difference this made was huge.
Before, while his solo BOSSing skills were strong, the BOSSes were often much higher level, aning the equipnt dropped would either be useless or he couldn't wear it, which was a major headache.
But now, with the Proof of the Overlord, he no longer had to worry. He could freely take down BOSSes without hesitation.
Even in the late stages of ExoGenesis, this item would still be valuable.
In fact, the further along the ga went, the more valuable it would beco!
