Ren Ye didn't react as strongly as he had expected but rather he kept his expression calm and steady, facing Jing Xue. He lowered his head and casually shot a glance at Ren Jia before raising it to stare at Jing Xue's face.
"Back then, you didn't even mutter a word about my pregnancy. I thought you knew about it," Jing Xue chuckled self-deprecatingly, never taking her eyes off Ren Ye.
"I prefer not to know about it," Ren Ye mumbled audibly, he didn't think it would benefit him considering he was on the edge of his own doom at that ti.
Knowing about the child's father wouldn't have stopped him from doing whatever he wanted.
Jing Xue was disappointed but she didn't express herself, she chose to let her hand fall down from his face and land on his chest, caressing the spot above his heart with complexity on her face.
The spot was the area where he was shot and wounded.
"What a sha, you were pretty desperate to die and leave behind."
Jing Xue lowered her eyes onto his chest before raising them and staring deep into Ren Ye's, she spoke in a low and slow tone, "I simply cursed you by having the three of us transmigrated, didn't I?"
Ren Ye raised his chin and didn't speak, he pursed his lips tightly.
"Ren Jia, did your Papa mistreat you these days?"
Jing Xue drifted away from Ren Ye and bent her body to pinch Ren Jia's chubby cheeks, she was extrely enamored by this daughter of hers with whom she never got to spend ti.
Ren Jia was confused as to why her mother was acting strange but she nodded her head repeatedly, "Papa has never mistreated ."
"Papa loves and pampers very much while Mama was gone. He took to the amusent park to have fun and keeps my drawings with him wherever he goes."
"Whenever Papa feels sad, Papa would always look at my drawings and praise ."
Ren Ye snorted inwardly and thought to himself, "Good girl."
Upon hearing all of the good deeds Ren Ye has accumulated, Jing Xue nodded her head and gave her a gentle smile. She raised her hand and rubbed her head.
"Good, if he dares mistreat you, I will give him a beating."
Jing Xue replied in a gentle tone as her lips curled into a coquettish smirk, she shot him a sideway glance as she whispered lightly with her slender finger against her lips.
"In bed."
Ren Ye trembled intensely, his expression imdiately turned dark.
Jing Xue sighed gloomily and turned to look at Ren Ye, "Ye, is it alright if I take Ren Jia to live with for a while?"
Ren Ye was taken aback and looked at her face with a bit of surprise.
He replied in a light tone, "It is alright, I have a lot of things to tend to these days. I think she can go with you for a couple of days, I will pick her up a couple of days later."
Jing Xue coughed lightly and interrupted him, "I didn't an just her."
"You, co and live with ."
Ren Ye imdiately sensed a threat from her tone, he felt his body turn cold and glanced at her with shock.
If he goes to live with her now, wouldn't the money and power he spent on the things in his new apartnt be worthless? He didn't plan to move out yet because there were a lot of things he needed to do around the area and the area was a perfect hideout.
He hadn't resolved his conflict with Zheng Ai and Boss Tao yet, how could he have the face to leave and go live with another woman? Wouldn't that make him a soft rice king?
Ren Ye shook his head and replied, "I have only rented it recently, I like the place."
Jing Xue's expression didn't change as she continued to glance at him, "Are you planning sothing again?"
"Damn! This woman is really hard to break through!" Old Yi exclaid loudly inside his head, "Quickly subdue her with your manly power!"
"Shut up!" Ren Ye cursed him angrily.
Ren Ye shook his head again and said frankly, "More or less, there's stuff I have to resolve before I leave."
"It may beco an even bigger problem if I avoid it."
Jing Xue continued to stare at him with her calm and tranquil eyes, gradually making Ren Ye uncomfortable under her gaze.
Ren Jia realized the tension inside the room and raised her tiny hand, she waved it to catch Jing Xue's attention. Although she looked completely innocent, she knew her Papa was burdened with a lot of things and she was one of them.
"Mama, Papa is working hard every day to provide with a good life. Don't be angry if Papa is away, Papa is trying his best to help and protect ."
Ren Jia tried to convince her mother but Jing Xue was determined to tie Ren Ye to her side, she felt extrely conflicted as she bit her lips silently.
Ren Ye nodded his head, agreeing with what Ren Jia said, "I will return safely."
"Papa will return safely," Ren Jia repeated.
Jing Xue gritted her teeth and muttered coldly, "You said the sa thing the last ti."
She bought up the past yet again, Ren Ye felt a headache looming and gritted his teeth angrily.
"The past is the past, I am aware of my flaws now. I won't be reckless again."
Ren Ye grabbed the clean white shirt next to him and started dressing quickly, he didn't care about Jing Xue's gaze on him. He turned his head and shot her a glance.
Ren Ye slowly approached her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into an intimate embrace. He nuzzled his nose against her the side of her forehead and pasted his lips against it.
"Baby, I am sorry for what I did."
Jing Xue appeared unconvinced as she gripped the sleeves of his shirt tightly, not wanting to take her hands away anyti soon.
She snorted lightly and spoke in a gentle tone, "If you ever dare leave my sight again, I will kill you."
Ren Jia, who was by the side, glanced at them with a strange face before thinking inside her head, "Papa is extrely powerful!"
"Papa's powers quickly subdue Mama!"
"I will give you two months before I force you to move in with , is that enough?"
Jing Xue still didn't let go of her plans to tie Ren Ye to her side, she was extrely possessive of him even in their past. Ren Ye was pretty helpless toward her.
"I am not certain yet but I think that will be enough," Ren Ye smiled and pecked her on the cheek, to show his appreciation.
Jing Xue's face remained cold but the side of her ears turned red, signaling she wasn't as calm as she looked.
"Oh, the car that I crashed. Uh."
Ren Ye didn't know how to say it but he had to do it, "It wasn't mine."
Jing Xue lifted her eyes and glanced at him with peering eyes, wanting to hear what he has to say.
"It was Uncle Jie's, Deng Jie's."
"Oh."
She wholly forgot about his accident and casually scanned his body for injuries, she didn't find any as though he had never encountered an accident in the first place.
She nodded her head and gave him an assuring smile.
"I will help you pay for it."
"Oi! Ren Boy! You got a pretty woman to pay for you, what kind of shaless behavior is this?" Old Yi shouted loudly with a chuckle, not letting Ren Ye have any face.
"Shut up! You beca even more annoying, I should make ten more charms to shut you up!"
Old Yi stopped talking.
"Papa, when will you co and pick up from Mama?" Ren Jia spoke up all of a sudden and pulled her Papa's hand gently, she stared at him with her glossy eyes.
"Papa needs to be quick, I want Papa and Mama together as one big family again."
"I will be quick," Ren Ye patted her head with a smile before standing up and grabbing Jing Xue's shoulders, "If there are any problems, contact Uncle Jie. You should know who he is."
"It is alright, I already have your contact number on my phone."
"There's no need to hide where you are."
Jing Xue shook off his hands and replied with a deadpan expression.
"…"
The three of them left the room and Ma ifan, who was waiting outside, imdiately noticed the odd atmosphere.
Why do I feel like they've suddenly beco closer like a family? Am I hallucinating because of my worries? Did Sister Jing have a relationship with this man? No, no.
Sister Jing doesn't date n like him, she only likes n with pretty faces and flamboyant appearances, this man is too ordinary and is a single father.
What am I even thinking?
Ma ifan was muddled in her thoughts before being woken up by a snap of Jing Xue's fingers.
