"I had originally thought you should have so understanding of the Permanent Teleportation Channel, but now it seems you don’t know much?"
At first, Zhou Muxi found Zhang Yanhang’s behavior of blundering in with just a little bit of information slightly amusing, but she quickly realized it was a display of confidence in his own strength, and that made her smile fade.
If it weren’t for the fear of embarrassnt, Zhang Yanhang would have outright told Zhou Muxi that it wasn’t that he knew little, but that he was practically clueless.
Okay, clueless may be a bit of an exaggeration. He did understand a little after all. Looking at the transmission channel that stood tens of ters tall, so two hundred ters away, Zhang Yanhang seed to finally understand why the group leader had the confidence to say that perhaps in just a few years, the concentration of Spiritual Energy in the Main World would increase significantly.
After all, Energy Suction had nothing to do with most external forces, but rather with the conduit, that is, the diater of the Teleportation Channel.
The teleportation channels he usually encountered were basically just a point but could spew out a vast amount of Spiritual Energy. Now, with a permanently open Teleportation Channel that was tens of ters high, even a conservative estimate by Zhang Yanhang put the channel’s efficiency of Spiritual Energy flow at a factor that definitely needed to be counted in the tens of thousands.
With that level of Spiritual Energy transmission efficiency, Zhang Yanhang could understand why the recent increase in energy concentration suddenly started to accelerate.
"Are teleportation channels generally this big?"
If they really were all this large, then Zhang Yanhang estimated that it might take only two to three years for the Main World and the Ashen World to reach an equilibrium in Spiritual Energy density, that is, the current level multiplied by five.
"Not necessarily, so Transmission Channels connect to areas of higher Rank, but the size of the Channel itself is quite ordinary, possibly only a few ters. However, generally speaking, the larger the Rank level, the larger the Transmission Channel. So, a Channel of several tens of ters like this one is actually quite rare. A normal Low-level Teleportation Channel would be doing well to asure up to a dozen ters or so."
Zhou Muxi’s understanding of Teleportation Channels was that the larger they are, the harder they are to defend. After all, there are quite a few flying-type Monsters in the Ashen World, as well as many capable of teleportation-like abilities. Therefore, compared to these large channels, she preferred those ordinary ones of about a dozen ters that could be blocked directly with Illusion Projection.
"I see."
If ordinary Teleportation Channels were really only about a dozen ters in size, then Zhang Yanhang estimated that reaching equilibrium between the Spiritual Energy of the Main World and the Ashen World would probably take at least four to five years. By then, he guessed he would have already retired.
As Zhang Yanhang chatted with Zhou Muxi, more and more Monsters gathered around them. The semi-solid Molten Fire spewed out by the Molten Fire Giant Lizards had completely buried the Energy Shield, even though it couldn’t cause any damage.
If there was an impact, it was certainly there—at the very least it successfully disturbed Zhang Yanhang’s vision, turning his surroundings a fiery red, making him feel like he was back in the small-scale Crimson Iron Ant Nest Dala Gu. Speaking of which, he suddenly rembered an issue—he seed to have quite a lot of Fla Resistance on him.
Although Zhang Yanhang hadn’t counted carefully, his Fla Resistance had already exceeded 100 percent a long ti ago, and now, with his recent equipping of more Crimson Iron Equipnt along with his Three-Headed Six-Ard status, his current Fla Resistance might even be close to 200 percent.
Even if Zhang Yanhang didn’t know the exact calculation formula between Fla Resistance and Fla Damage, in theory, he should be able to reduce fire damage by at least twice, right?
"No wonder I felt nothing when those molten fires sprayed up – turns out my Fla Resistance is too high, huh?"
Of course, Zhang Yanhang felt the most important factor was still the increase in defensive power due to his Constitution Attribute after his Promotion to the Late Third Tier. He thought that this portion of Fla Resistance would only really co into play when facing late-stage Third-tier monsters, naly, Third Tier Three-star and Third Tier Four-star monsters.
"Fla Resistance? What Fla Resistance? Aren’t you going to attack?"
Now, the only thing Zhou Muxi felt after being buried in molten lava inside the round Energy Shield was as if she was hatching an egg—well, she was on the receiving end of being hatched, which was quite weird.
"Right, it’s about ti to attack."
Although the semi-solid Molten Fire indeed blocked Zhang Yanhang’s line of sight, he didn’t rely on his eyes to fight anyway but had always been scanning the enemies using Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil. So, the surrounding Molten Fire basically had no effect on him.
And now, according to his scan, he and Zhou Muxi were surrounded by Molten Fire Giant Lizards so tightly that they were enveloped from inside out in layers. This also happened to be his favorite scenario.
Although they hadn’t filled the range of six hundred ters and were only encircled within two to three hundred ters, this was already quite good; not everything in life had to be pursued for perfection.
So, Zhang Yanhang snapped his fingers, and imdiately activated the Death Wave Skill. A circle of transparent Twisted force field spread rapidly from his body outwards.
The very mont it made contact with this Twisting force field, the scales of the Molten Fire Giant Lizards, who had been joyfully spewing molten fire at Zhang Yanhang, were torn to shreds like decrepit leather.
The skin underneath the scales and the fragile subcutaneous fat stood no chance in front of the Twisted force field; they were torn apart along with the muscle tissue beneath them.
Many blood vessels were destroyed, and the blood, hotter than boiling water, partly followed the flow down into the abdominal region, where the internal organs of the Molten Fire Lizards had been completely devastated, while much more of it was sprayed wildly in all directions along the tears in the muscle tissue under the effect of the Twisting force field - as if squeezed by an imnsely strong hand.
These hot blood spurts caused a wide expanse of steam the mont they t the cold, damp air outside. This steam should have dissipated quickly, but because so many Molten Fire Giant Lizards were being drained of blood by the Twisted force field all at once, the steam that should have dispersed quickly, surprisingly coalesced into a cloud-like formation instead.
But due to its density, the cloud of steam didn’t envelop Zhang Yanhang as ordinary smoke would; instead, it quickly drifted up into the sky.
The flas that were originally burning at the tail of the Molten Fire Giant Lizard also vanished swiftly with the steam cloud and because of being drenched in blood, although mainly because it had already been forcibly weakened by the Twisted Force Field, leaving behind only a few small sparks stubbornly burning.
If the Molten Fire Giant Lizard were still alive, those tiny sparks might have reignited into a blazing fire and returned to their original state.
Unfortunately, a re Second Tier Three-Star Molten Fire Giant Lizard, although its Life Value Limit was unknown due to the inability to view its Attribute list, was definitely unable to withstand the Death Wave’s fixed damage of 1092 points.
Thus, with the spread of the Death Wave, all Molten Fire Giant Lizards within a six-hundred-ter radius of Zhang Yanhang fell silent without exception, their heads that were once held high, spewing molten fire non-stop at him, now lowered leaving behind corpses and severed limbs scattered across the ground, and huge blood pools hundreds of ters wide still emitting steam.
However, compared to these things, what Zhang Yanhang paid more attention to were the kill notification sounds that suddenly echoed by his ear, almost within a single second, his mind filled with thousands of kill notifications.
[Successfully killed a Second Tier Three-Star Monster ’Molten Fire Giant Lizard (Ordinary)’×1, Soul Points 100.]
[Successfully killed a Second Tier Three-Star Monster ’Molten Fire Giant Lizard (Ordinary)’×1, Soul Points 100.]
[Successfully killed a Second Tier Three-Star Monster ’Molten Fire Giant Lizard (Ordinary)’×1, Soul Points 100.]
...
If it had been the Second Tier Zhang Yanhang, perhaps this wave might have caused him to freeze for a mont, but after all, he had now been promoted to the Third Tier, and had also developed so related resistance, so this four-digit kill notification only made him slightly dazed before he quickly recovered.
He could even roughly estimate that his single Death Wave had just killed about fourteen hundred Molten Fire Giant Lizards based on the kill notification sounds.
To be honest, this was due to the low density of the Molten Fire Giant Lizards; otherwise, within a three-hundred-ter radius, let alone fourteen hundred Molten Fire Giant Lizards, even doubling that, placing three thousand Molten Fire Giant Lizards would be more than enough—well, it might be a bit crowded when attacking.
But what Zhang Yanhang cared about the most right now was his Soul Points balance. If he hadn’t miscalculated, one hundred Soul Points for a Molten Fire Giant Lizard, wouldn’t fourteen hundred of them be one hundred and forty thousand Soul Points?
"Indeed, the efficiency of acquiring Soul Points after being promoted is extraordinary, with a single skill tossed out netting hundreds of thousands of Soul Points gain."
Zhang Yanhang felt that securing enough Soul Points to upgrade the Death Wave Skill Level was definitely in the bag this ti, after all, he had gained one hundred and forty thousand Soul Points by killing just fourteen hundred Molten Fire Giant Lizards.
"And now, there are still over eighty thousand monsters waiting to be killed through this Fourth Tier Transmission Channel, not to ntion three million Soul points, even six million Soul points would be child’s play."
"Even though I’ve felt it many tis before, your skill still seems more terrifying the more I look at it."
At the very mont Zhang Yanhang activated his skill, Zhou Muxi felt her hairs stand on end, that dreadful surge of energy sending her Spiritual Sense into a frenzy of warnings. Despite Zhang Yanhang claiming it to be a basic skill akin to a normal attack, she felt that any monster struck by it would be either killed or severely wounded.
Furthermore, thanks to the burst from the Death Wave that incidentally swept away so of the Molten Fire covering the Energy Shield, she could clearly perceive the terrifying destructive power of the Death Wave.
She watched, wide-eyed, as no monster where the Death Wave passed could offer any resistance. It was as if the scythe of the Death God itself was reaping souls, consistently knocking them down, dealing massive damage to their bodies with a full-scale saturation attack upon contact.
If Zhang Yanhang were aware of Zhou Muxi’s thoughts, he would surely tell her that this skill did indeed belong to the Ancient Reaper, and its function was indeed ant for reaping lives. Her thoughts and comparisons were literally to the point, just a plain statent.
Although Zhang Yanhang heard Zhou Muxi’s words, he didn’t pay much attention to them because he was busy checking the balance of his Soul points, wanting to see if he had indeed gained one hundred and forty thousand Soul points.
[Soul points: 149446 ( 142100)]
"As expected, I got one hundred and forty thousand Soul points, pretty good indeed."
But while one hundred and forty thousand Soul points might look impressive, he was now into the Third Tier. Even though he had just entered this stage, based on past experience, he estimated that his current one hundred and forty thousand Soul points were probably equivalent to the fourteen thousand Soul points he had in the Second Tier—not sothing to get overly excited about.
After all, other than the Limitless Universe Skill, the rest of his skills would require at least two hundred thousand Soul points to upgrade further. The balance he had now wouldn’t even suffice to elevate his skill from Original Lv.6 to Original Lv.7. Hence, he thought it would be better to wait until he had a seven-figure Soul points balance to be excited. Given the current pace, it didn’t seem like it would take long—in fact, he might gather enough in a matter of minutes if things went well.
After checking his Soul points balance, Zhang Yanhang briefly assessed the consumption of his Physical Strength and found that the Death Wave—despite being a max range attack of six hundred ters—didn’t drain too much of his strength. Or perhaps, the energy he used to spend in the Second Tier now seed insignificant due to the major boost in his Constitution Attribute from the progression in rank.
Zhang Yanhang rembered that back in the Second Tier, he could only cast about forty-plus tis of Death Wave·Original Lv.6 even when using all his stamina. Now it was different; he conservatively estimated that his Stamina limit must have increased more than tenfold due to his advancent in rank. As a result, he could now continuously cast five hundred tis of the maximum range Death Wave. And if he were willing to reduce the coverage of the Death Wave, he could even release it a thousand tis.
This was a number Zhang Yanhang had never imagined; his capacity to cast Death Wave had jumped from two digits straight to three, even four digits. This ant he no longer had to worry about monster density and could release the Death Wave skill at will in the future.
Of course, such bliss was bound to be fleeting, unsustainable, and difficult to replicate. He could now cast the Death Wave five hundred tis consecutively because the stamina cost of the skill hadn’t increased, remaining at the sa level. However, as per his upcoming upgrade plans, he would soon be raising the Skill Level of Death Wave again. With the inevitable significant increase in stamina consumption, saying goodbye to casting a thousand tis was certain; even casting five hundred tis after reducing the range might be in doubt.
But those concerns were for the future and didn’t involve the current Zhang Yanhang. For now, he thought he might as well enjoy the mont to its fullest. In the end, feeling ecstatic was all that mattered.
