Curse Binding Vajra: "Max drop rate, a single stroke for 999, carefree leveling—where on Earth is the real True Ash? I suspect I’m playing the Fake Ash endorsed by the Orange Dragon. Give back the real Uncle Dragon."
Gu Mingyue felt more and more that she was playing a fake version of Ashen World. For her, various settings and records were just useless urban legends. They were sothing to listen to when bored, passing the ti, but for Zhang Yanhang, he was practically the personification of an urban legend—a pure dinsionality reduction strike. She simply couldn’t cope with it.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "???"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "What the hell is an Orange Dragon?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "Never mind, don’t sweat the small, useless details."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Alright then."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Guild master, do you have that kind of artifact that can add two points to the Agility attribute?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "I do have it, but it’s a Dark Purple Quality Item. However, what do you plan to trade for it? That Green Ten-piece Set from last ti won’t do; my cousin can’t fit into a second set of that, and besides, it’s not worth enough."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Let’s talk price later, besides this Dark Purple Quality Item, I also would like your help with sothing else."
Initially, Zhang Yanhang planned to find so useful items in his Waist Bag to purchase the Dark Purple Quality Item, but upon further thought, he realized he didn’t have anything valuable on him.
Oh, wait, that wasn’t right—he had many valuable things, but nothing spare. All were just enough for his own use, so he needed ti to take inventory of what was inside his Waist Bag. That’s why he asked the guild master to wait and discuss the price together later.
Curse Binding Vajra: "What do you need help with?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "I’ve co across an abandoned Transmission Channel, and I want to fix it and reopen it. Are you skilled in this kind of thing?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "Then you’ve co to the right person!"
Curse Binding Vajra: "If you went looking for soone else, I bet you wouldn’t find many in Qin Island City who know about this stuff. But as it happens, my cousin once encountered an abandoned Transmission Channel, so I’ve done so research on this."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "That’s great to hear."
Curse Binding Vajra: "But I have a question—what Rank is the area where you are?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "What do you an? Does fixing a Transmission Channel have sothing to do with the area’s Rank?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "It does matter, because Awakeners can only enter areas one Rank lower than their own. For example, I’m now Fourth Tier; I can only go into Third Tier Areas. It’s probably a restriction in Ashen World to prevent High-level Awakeners from sweeping through Low-level Areas."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "So there’s that kind of restriction, huh?"
Previously, Zhang Yanhang had always thought that all the areas in Ashen World were freely accessible to all Awakeners. But it now seed that if that were the case, a single High-level Awakened could probably support a whole host of Low-level Awakened.
To give a simple example, Raccoon City is the size of a county-level city, but a strong Fourth Tier Awakened could throw a punch and obliterate the entire Raccoon City, thereby gaining a large number of Soul points and Drop treasure boxes. They could also incidentally earn a 100% completion Ashen Treasure Box and related achievents.
Soul points are universal across all Ranks; one can keep them for oneself, while the items that co out of Drop treasure boxes and Ashen Treasure boxes can be used by other Low-level Awakened, and then rely on completing achievents by percentages to rapidly increase one’s strength.
Moreover, the critical part is not that doing so yields high returns, but that it is so efficient. It’s just one attack, right? How much ti could that take? Spending even one second gathering strength would be considered too long.
So even if one needs to find the right areas, a High-level Awakened should be able to clear four-digit numbers of Low-level Areas daily. Furthermore, after obliterating an Area themselves, they could send other Low-level Awakened to collect the treasure boxes. They just need to keep finding the right areas and continue the destruction.
In this way, the entire Awakener System becos a perverse system in which the strong support the weak. Although the weak grow rapidly, it’s a horrifying system of rigid class structures where all resources are allocated by the strong and the weak beco like slaves. It’s really quite dire no matter how you look at it.
However, it’s much better with the limitation that Awakeners can only go to areas one Rank below their own. While High-level Awakened can still quickly clear so Low-level Areas, the ti cost becos so great that it’s almost aningless.
After all, you can’t simply increase your Rank by spending Soul points. Wasting ti clearing those Low-level Areas would inevitably greatly reduce the ti required for Rank Promotion.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "But I still don’t understand what fixing the abandoned Teleportation Channels has to do with Rank limitation?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "To put it simply, if the area you’re going to is a Third Tier Area, then I can go with you right away, fix the Teleportation Channel, but if it’s just a Second or First Tier Area, then I can’t enter. I will have to use another thod to help you repair the Teleportation Channel."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Oh, I see."
Zhang Yanhang began to ponder whether Raccoon City was actually a Second Tier Area or a Third Tier Area; in this regard, he was truly uncertain. Although the Tracker had indeed possessed the strength to transform into a Third Tier One-star before it died, the problem was that it had only transford into its Third Tier Four Stars third form when Zhang Yanhang blew it up.
So, from this perspective, it was indeed very puzzling whether Raccoon City was a Third Tier Area or a Second Tier Area. The possibilities were fifty-fifty.
Since there was a fifty percent chance that Raccoon City was a Second Tier Area, Zhang Yanhang felt it would be better to ask in advance what the so-called ’another thod’ was to avoid embarrassnt if the group leader couldn’t enter the Teleportation Channel.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Let’s skip ahead to the other thod. The area where that abandoned Teleportation Channel is located is where the Second Tier Four Stars Lord Monster that I initially killed was."
Curse Binding Vajra: "Alright, but this thod might be a bit pricey."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "What do you an?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "I an, if I could go myself, I could simply repair the abandoned Teleportation Channel quickly and effortlessly. As friends, helping with this small favor really wouldn’t require any paynt."
Curse Binding Vajra: "But it’s different if I can’t go. The dium for automated repair is quite expensive, but the upside is that I wouldn’t need to go myself. You just need to attach the item to the abandoned Teleportation Channel and don’t have to worry about it. Let it slowly absorb the surrounding Spiritual Energy and repair itself automatically."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "So, the difference is that one can freeload while the other requires extra money?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "You really want to freeload? Don’t normal people encounter such events and tacitly think about owing a favor?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "I thought with our relationship, we wouldn’t need to worry about such trifles..."
Gu Mingyue’s breath hitched montarily, and her face suddenly turned a hint red, not because she was irritated by Zhang Yanhang who wanted to freeload, but because his words inexplicably made her recall the incident that occurred after the Teleportation Gate had been opened last ti. Every ti she thought of this, her mood inevitably beca a little excited.
However, fortunately for her, this was not a face-to-face chat, and there was no need to manage expressions. Therefore, even though her blush was spreading rapidly, Gu Mingyue still forcefully suppressed that strange feeling inside her, then pretended to be calm as she ssaged Zhang Yanhang back.
Curse Binding Vajra: "..."
Curse Binding Vajra: "Don’t make it sound so ambiguous, okay?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Just kidding. I have a bottle of Artifact that I won’t need for a while, which can increase the Agility attribute. If you need it, I can use it to exchange for the dium required to repair the abandoned Transmission Channel, as well as the Dark Purple Quality Item that can increase Agility by two points."
Curse Binding Vajra: "You have an Artifact that can increase Agility, yet you’re asking for one?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "Are you ssing with ?"
Gu Mingyue’s face turned red again, but this ti it was indeed from anger. She couldn’t understand where Zhang Yanhang got the nerve to think he could trade an Artifact that increased the Agility attribute for her entire Teleportation Channel repair service plus a Dark Purple Quality Item.
But soon after, Gu Mingyue thought of a new possibility, perhaps Zhang Yanhang was planning to trade a high-Quality Item with her, which would be more reasonable.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "To avoid any misunderstanding, could you tell the Quality of that Artifact which increases the Agility attribute?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "An Artifact of Golden quality with a full score that directly adds five points to Agility plus a 20% Lightning Resistance and can be used freely as long as your Agility is below 100 points, the [Blue Dragon Essence Blood (Dawn Blessing)]."
Curse Binding Vajra: "..."
Curse Binding Vajra: "You’re Second Tier and you’ve already gotten your hands on Golden Quality Items?"
Gu Mingyue felt as if she had unknowingly copped another dose of Versailles-syndro. She rembered that when she was at Second Tier, she only saw Dark Purple Items, and that was just before her promotion, from a Lord’s Treasure Chest.
Yet here Zhang Yanhang was at Second Tier already obtaining Fourth Tier Golden quality Items and reverse-dumping them to a Fourth Tier Awakened like her. True Ash really was nothing like her Fake Ash.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "After killing a Third Tier One-star Lord Monster, it dropped from an Ashen Treasure Box. I only have a two-point gap in Agility, so if I use it now, it’ll be too much overflow. I was thinking of saving it until after my promotion to Third Tier."
Curse Binding Vajra: "Phew, it’s just from an Ashen Treasure Box. If it ca from a Lord’s Treasure Chest, I might have been unable to resist asking you for a private server link."
Gu Mingyue wasn’t too surprised that Zhang Yanhang had killed a Third Tier One-star Lord Monster. After all, he could kill a Second Tier Four Stars Lord Monster during his First Tier and probably a Third Tier Four-star one now that he was at the peak of Second Tier. Let alone just a Third Tier One-star Lord Monster.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Private server link? What’s that?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Why do you keep saying things I don’t understand today? Is this the legendary generation gap between the post-90s and post-00s?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "First, I’m post-95. Second, crawl for mother! I only graduated from university not long ago. If there’s a generation gap, I’ll chop you up and fill it with your pieces."
Won, for so unknown reason, are fussy about age, and Gu Mingyue, an Awakened, was no exception. Mainly, she couldn’t accept that ’90s, thirty-year-old aunties could be classified the sa as her.
Heavenly Destiny Master: "You’re talking in riddles again..."
Curse Binding Vajra: "Keep this up, and do you believe I’ll just turn off my phone right now?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "..."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Okay, alright. Let’s continue with the important stuff."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "So, do you think that Golden Quality full-score Item is worth enough?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "Regarding this, my Teleportation Channel repair service isn’t that expensive. Even with a Dark Purple Quality Item, it’s still not enough."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "So?"
Curse Binding Vajra: "So, do you have anything else with slightly lower Quality to trade?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Let see..."
Curse Binding Vajra: "Also, you have the ability to refine Equipnt, right? Can you repair Equipnt?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Yes, just give all the fragnts of the Equipnt and try not to miss too many. Otherwise, the Equipnt score, Durability, and defensive power might decrease to so extent."
Curse Binding Vajra: "You really can repair Equipnt? I have a Light Gold Quality ring that’s snapped in half with zero Durability. It shouldn’t be hard to repair, right?"
Heavenly Destiny Master: "Just snapped in half? Indeed, that’s no big issue."
Heavenly Destiny Master: "By the way, is Durability really useful?"
Although Zhang Yanhang never needed this particular function, it didn’t an he couldn’t repair Equipnt. After all, repairing Equipnt for him was similar to Fusion: it was about lting down and then reshaping and restoring.
About Durability, Zhang Yanhang didn’t usually pay much attention because his equipnt never faced that problem. Mainly because the decline in Equipnt Durability cos from contact with other objects and subsequent wear.
Especially defensive Equipnt types. The longer they’re used to block enemy attacks, the faster Durability falls.
But Zhang Yanhang’s Equipnt didn’t have any Durability issues, they never suffered any wear at all. The main reason was the Technique Immunity-generated Energy Shield. It not only protected his body but incidentally enveloped the Equipnt, preventing any interaction and harm until an enemy overca the Energy Shield’s defenses.
So, because of this, all the Equipnt Zhang Yanhang currently wore was like brand new, fresh from the factory.
