Chapter 680: Chapter 84: The Intruding Giant Dragon Chapter 680: Chapter 84: The Intruding Giant Dragon Hundreds of steps away, the Orc Cavalry threw short spears and drew bows, shooting arrows at those heavy “iron cans.”
“Clang! Clang! Clang!”
The clear sound of tal rang out as arrows struck the finely crafted armor of the Dwarves, bouncing off instantly.
These were the elite cavalry of the High Mountain Kingdom, equipped so heavily that even their goats wore thick armor, impervious to ordinary arrows.
The Dwarf Heavy Cavalry did not retaliate; they silently gripped their Warhamrs, heads down as they charged, waiting for close-quarters combat.
“Boom—”
In an instant, the Steel Torrent of the Dwarf Heavy Cavalry collided with the Frenzy wave of the Orcs’ Worgs Cavalry, intertwining furiously.
“Crush these Dwarves!”
“Slaughter these Long Fang bastards!”
To facilitate scouting actions, Orc Cavalry were mostly clad in light Leather Armor, so even bare-chested.
But the Dwarves wore thick Iron Armor and held Warhamrs, their impact far surpassing that of the Orc Cavalry.
In just an encounter, hundreds of Orc Cavalry were flattened by leaping goats, and along with them, their Worgs were crushed under iron hooves.
Following that, the Dwarves ford an unyielding wall of steel, constantly advancing forward, crushing all the Orc Cavalry in their path.
“Crush them!”
Ed raised his Warhamr high and smashed down with force.
“Boom!”
The ground quaked in front of the Dwarf King, with blood and shattered Leather Armor spraying everywhere, Orcs and Worgs howling as they were sent flying.
“Orcs!”
“You’ve provoked the wrong foe! We are the Shield Dwarves of the High Mountain Kingdom—”
Ed swung his Warhamr again, tracing arcs in mid-air, a fierce whirlwind suddenly kicked up, with countless pebbles swirling, creating a terrifying sandstorm.
“No—”
“Help!”
“Oh Father God Guosh, what is this?”
Instantly, hundreds of Orcs and Worgs around Ed were swept into the sky by the fierce wind, their wails of despair and struggles were futile against the force’s binding.
And the Orcs’ shattered Leather Armor, as well as dropped scimitars and short spears, flew amidst the sandstorm, occasionally slicing through Orc bodies.
“We will never bow down to filthy Orcs! Never!”
Ed roared, suddenly swinging his Warhamr, everything in mid-air—Orcs, Worgs, and debris—precipitously fell.
The sharp stones, like a swift storm, and akin to descending swords, nailed the remaining Orcs to the ground.
The Dwarf Heavy Cavalry’s offensive was exceptionally fierce, shattering the Orc Cavalry’s line like a heavy hamr, tearing a huge gap at its center.
However, the Dwarf Heavy Cavalry numbered only five hundred, while the Orcs’ Worgs Cavalry alone nearly ten thousand, not to ntion other assorted troops numbering over a hundred thousand.
Soon, the charge of the Dwarf Heavy Cavalry slowed, and the goats’ steps beca increasingly labored.
Often, dozens of Orc Cavalry would surround a few Dwarf Heavy Cavalry, the Dwarves swinging Warhamrs, fighting desperately, yet struggling to cope.
Even with their superior equipnt and trendous strength, facing an enemy ten tis their size, or even more, proved overwhelming.
Loud horn sounds resonated, the howling of Worgs rose and fell, as Orc Cavalry harassed from various directions, encircling the Dwarves on the battlefield.
“Filthy Long Fangs… there are just too many of them!
Where is the direction to the Aivendel City Wall, damn these sands, I can’t see clearly!”
The Dwarf Heavy Cavalry clenched their teeth tightly, gripping their Warhamrs, surveying their surroundings with their goats’ steps frantic, hooves clattering.
They could only see shadows weaving through them as Worgs raced across the sandy grounds, circling the solitary fighting Dwarves and kicking up clouds of dust.
Suddenly, a vast shadow descended from the sky, the Dwarf Heavy Cavalry barely had ti to turn back.
“Swoosh—”
The blood-stained blades of the Double-headed Axe glistened, the Dwarf barely feeling a cold sensation at his throat before his head flew into the air.
His goat, in a panic, attempted to flee but was cut in half by an Orc-thrown, rapidly spinning Double-headed Axe.
The goat, dragging its front half, painfully neighed on the ground, its cleanly cut cross-section oozing blood-soaked viscera.
“Dwarf Heavy Cavalry… that’s all they amount to.”
Monk stretched out his hand, fingers spread, and the Double-headed Axe spun back into his grip, landing steadily in his hand.
His mount, a black Worg, greedily licked the warm blood of the Dwarf and goat, emitting a satisfied whine.
“Boom!”
Another heavy boom shook the ground again.
Monk turned his head towards the source of the sound, his expression darkening—
—just as the Dwarf swung his Warhamr, dozens of Orc Cavalry instantly plumted from the sky, crushed into at paste by the stones, their lives as insignificant as chaff.
“Ed Klein, the ruler of the High Mountain Kingdom, the king of the Shield Dwarves, indeed a troubleso fellow.
But…”
Monk spoke in a deep voice, yet his lips inadvertently curled into a fervent smile, his fierce face revealing ecstatic zeal.
“He is worthy to be my opponent, his head will serve as the perfect sacrifice for Father God Guosh.”
Guosh delights in war, forever seeking territories for His people, and His followers emulate the will of Father God.
The Orc Language lacks the word “peace,” possessing only a guttural curse that roughly ans “a temporary cessation of conflict.”
“Dwarf! I will take your head as a sacrifice to the great Father God Guosh!”
