"You want to die!"
The Natural War Maniac stood before them, roaring furiously at the sky, lifting his battle axe above his head, and swung it violently. The imnse strength cleaved the oncoming Bipedal Wyvern in half, spraying blood everywhere.
"You insolent fool, how dare you kill Her Majesty the Dragon Queen’s guard!"
"Show no rcy, kill them all! Use their blood to worship the great Mother of Evil Dragons!"
The guards shouted loudly, riding various Dragon Beasts, raising their weapons high as they rushed in from all directions, surrounding them.
Sumr Night Autumn Rain calmly surveyed the surroundings, pointing northward: "We escape northward to rendezvous with the main force!"
Beams of Fire Ray shot from her fingertips, piercing through the foremost Lion Dragon Knight, whose fur ignited and perished in a wail of agony.
Following closely, Mighty Heavenly Dragon and Natural War Maniac, two top lee fighters, charged northward.
"Bold monster, you dare to stop !"
The nearly six-ter-tall Bald Monk roared, swinging his fist as large as a cooking pot, smashing without rcy everything in front of him into pieces of flesh.
anwhile, the Natural War Maniac let out a loud war cry, swinging his blood-stained long-handled battle axe, transforming into a mobile at grinder, unleashing a storm of slaughter.
In just a few breaths, the northern part of the encirclent was littered with corpses, blood flowing like rivers, over twenty elite Dragon Worship Church mbers lay in pools of blood.
The other adventurers followed the two, breaking through the encirclent of Dragon Worship Church guards and fled towards the north of the city.
But at this mont, accompanied by a rumbling sound, the ground started trembling violently, cracks like spider webs appeared on the street, growing larger and extending towards the players.
The players looked back while fleeing, their faces full of fear and unease.
"That’s..."
"No way, could it be—"
"Boom!"
Broken stones, earth, and dust rose to the sky, a massive and hideous shadow erged from the ground, letting out a deafening roar.
"Roar—"
"Damn Imperial People! I will tear you apart—"
Near the Sword Bay Region, there are several famous cities, such as Waterdeep City (Waterdeep), Elturel, Neverwinter City (Neverwinter), etc. Waterdeep City was built on the capital Ilfaen of the Elf Empire—Erin Vier’s old site, featuring nurous temples of deities. The Miracle Temple is the most magnificent Magic Goddess Temple in the ga, adorned with splendid towers, various artworks, and magical decorations, full of Baroque style. In contrast, Neverwinter City leans more towards Gothic architecture, having developed for nearly a hundred years from the earliest human settlent Aegostor. The main city of the story, Bod Gate, is the largest and most prosperous trade city-state in the Sword Bay Region, a mix of nobles and commoners, adventurers call it "the hotbed of conspirators." The na Bod Gate cos from a hero, a Gray Harbor adventurer Bodlan, who explored the continent beyond the Sword Sea, returned to Gray Harbor with wealth, and led the settlent of the city. Based on the residents’ status, Bod Gate is divided into the nobles’ Upper City and the commoners’ Lower City, with an Outer City scattered around Chenyi Mountain. The gate separating the Upper and Lower City is called Bod Gate, with the entire city nad after it, serving as a monunt to Bodlan, the city’s founder. Currently, Bod Gate is governed by a four-mber council, all being Great Dukes. One mber is the leader of the council, with Elder Ravenclaw making decisions if there’s a tie in voting. The security of the Upper City is handled by the elite official police force, the Guard (Watch), while other areas are managed by a rcenary group called "Flaming Fist" for security. Elder Ravenclaw, the Great Duke, is also the highest commander of the rcenary group. The headquarters of the rcenary group is located in Bodlan Sea Tower, the strongest fortress defending Bod Gate against mariti invasions. Like a crescent, Gray Harbor, the economic lifeline of Bod Gate, surrounds it, with hundreds of rchant ships entering and exiting daily, bringing in Gold Coins and also bringing greed and sin. The Upper City’s terrain is relatively high, consisting of Castle District, Temple District, Manoburn District, and Wide Alley District, featuring nurous religious buildings. Miracle Hall and Supre Miracle House are the Church centers of the God of Craft in Bod Gate. Miracle Hall showcases the great inventions crafted by the God of Craft Gund, while Supre Miracle House doubles as a workshop. The Lower City’s buildings are mostly stone houses, divided into six districts: Sea Tower District, Blonrich District, Steep District, Crowded Side District, East Road District, Branpton District. The middle class generally resides in Blonrich District, close to the nobles in the Upper City, while the East Road District, near the Stone Lizard Gate connecting the Outer City, is more mixed with various people. It hosts many bustling bars and cheap inns. The Sea Tower District is where the Flaming Fist rcenary Group is stationed, and the largest rocky offshore island from the Sea Tower District houses the rcenary group’s headquarters, Bodlan Sea Tower. Branpton District and Steep District are relatively rundown, serving as communities for sailors and laborers. The Outer City is spread along the Chongsar River, gathering temporary buildings and slums. The landmark structure is the Stone Bridge—Flying Dragon Crossroad, where nurous stalls gather, and even expanded the bridge surface with planks, adding many buildings on top. Law and Order do not exist here, and the Flaming Fist rcenary Group’s protection is very limited. Many of the poor or criminals who cannot settle in the city gather here. The arched moss of the sewers glows green under the dim phosphorescent lamp, with murky sewage covering the boot soles, each step stirring up a viscous "gurgle" sound. Purple-black liquid seeps from the cracks in the walls, converging like veins into the drain—this is the unique neuro-corrosive substance of the Spirit Sucking Monster Nest. Inhaling it causes hallucinations in ordinary people, as if countless tiny tendrils are wriggling in their ear canal. Suddenly, from a broken iron pipe section ca the sound of misaligned bones "clacking," as if sothing is contorting through a narrow space. Three patrolling guards raised their lanterns just as the sewage exploded! Four Spirit Sucking Monsters burst out from the water, their pale humanoid bodies covered with decay, the octopus-like heads’ tendrils vibrating at high frequency, releasing visible purple Mind Shock Wave ripples. The helt of the foremost guard caved, his eyes burst into blood mist under increased intracranial pressure; the second one was pierced by tendrils into the ear canal before he could even scream, his spine extracted like a puppet string. The only survivor stumbled back, the booming of a misfired firearm was completely swallowed by the sub-frequency squeals released collectively by the Spirit Sucking Monsters. These Spirit Sucking Monsters were evidently tactically trained. Two feinting individuals whipped the water with their tendrils, stirring up a fog wall containing corrosive liquid to obscure vision. The third dropped from the ceiling, adhering to a guard’s skull with the suckers, the tendril’s tip precisely pierced the foran magnum—not instantly lethal, but like controlling a puppet, forcing the captive to turn, using his trembling hands to load ammunition for their companion’s firearm. anwhile, the fourth Spirit Sucking Monster was using the bone blade of its knuckles to cut open the chest cavity of a fallen guard, extracting the warm liver to feed, pale yellow digestive fluid dripped from its jaw, corroding wisps of blue smoke on the ground. The parasitized had not fully died. The guard’s battered body suddenly convulsed and crawled to its feet, translucent tendrils of a young Spirit Sucking Monster protruding from the neck wound, pupils diffusing into a cloudy milky white. He picked up a dagger and stabbed at his forr comrade, a non-human synthesized voice squeezed from his throat: "Skull...offer to the main brain...". And the real horror was just beginning to show—further ahead, the sewage pool started boiling, more pale figures erged from the water, dragging a dozen captives wrapped in mucus cocoons with their tendrils. The human faces twisted into silent screams under the cocoons. As the last gunshot faded, the sewer returned to a dead silence. Only floating tattered uniforms and the still pulsing neural corrosive mat are evidence of this massacre. The Spirit Sucking Monsters dragged the captives into the depths of the drainage pipe, the mucus cocoons occasionally twitched, as if the "Seed" inside was about to break free. In the main brain’s psychic network, the coordinates of these new bodies turned into a string of cold purple light, converging towards the massive shadow pulsing beneath Bod Gate.
