Chapter 341: He Cares

Once the mont collapsed, nobody would ever know the man was here.

At least, nobody other than Leandra.

Killing the students would be blood on Leandra’s hands, not his, and the man reeled at the thought.

Swoosh!

Leandra was late in realizing and reacting.

In the blink of an eye, the man had already dashed past her, reaching the nearest student with his hand.

His eyes were fixed on the student he was about to reach, but when his hand was inches away, he heard the clinking sound of coins. Instinctively, his eyes lowered to the ground, finding three coins with a thick bronze aura, scattered against the street a step away from him.

Boom!

Before the man could react, the coins exploded.

A few steps backward were forced out of him as the man staggered, pushed by the shockwaves.

Once he anchored himself and raised his gaze, his eyes widened.

“Sand…?”

Graah!

Erging from the swirling sand that acted like smoke was a creature equipped with the skull of a bull as a mask, green-brownish skin, and a scimitar that was rusted except for the sharp part. It was chuckling eerily as it slashed at the man.

Recovering from his trance, the man dodged the slash as the creature disappeared into the swirl again.

Initially, the man was confused.

But when he guessed who it was, a grin crept to his face as he summoned a golden spear.

In the next few seconds, the creature ca back and attacked the man from all sides.

Expertly, the man blocked or dodged the attacks at the last second, relying on his instinct and reflex to guess where the next attack ca from. In the process, he ca to realize—that there is more than one creature, there are three of them.

Even so, none of them managed to land an attack.

Graah!

Quickly, the man slapped a scimitar that was thrusted towards his chest and grabbed the creature by the neck, hauling it off the ground. Then, another ca from behind—but was instantly impaled by the spear. It has no chance of getting close.

Glancing to the side, the man saw the last one lurking in the swirl, hiding, biding for the right mont.

Knowing exactly what the lurking creature was about to do, the man smirked.

He pretended to focus on the one in his hand, pretending to be oblivious, until the last creature struck.

Reacting with precision, the man let go of the creature in his hand and called back the spear.

As soon as his spear returned, he made a circular, cleaving motion.

Splash!

Both the creature he let go of and the last one who was attacking from behind were slashed cleanly.

One was sliced into two, while the other was decapitated.

His spear carried with such a weight that it pushed clear the swirling sand around him in a four-ter radius—giving him more clarity to his surroundings. At the sa ti, a cold chill brushed against his nape as a figure erged above him.

It only gave him a second to look up before it struck.

Crash!

Outside, Leandra watched the situation unfold with clear confusion.

“Who…? Who is it?”

She saw how the man dashed past him—like a fleeting gale, but in the next second, this swirling sand ca out of nowhere, trapping the man at its center. Leandra could get out of the swirling sand fin;, it didn’t have any effect on her.

But it wasn’t the sa for the man.

Swoosh!

Leandra’s eyes snapped to the side as a figure was hurled out, skidding across the street roughly.

It was easy to recognize who it was.

It was the no-na man.

Blinking, she frowned when she realized that since the man was hurled away, there was soone else.

As soon as she thought that, the sand dispersed and revealed a figure at the center of it.

A massive man with a burly body, one that looked more like a monster than a human.

“A mutant?”

Leandra muttered under her breath.

Not only was she surprised to see a mutant, a Goblin Hybrid that has taken the extre route to power, but she was also surprised this person ca since she didn’t know him. But clearly, this man was so sort of underling to Lucivar.

‘He’s strong, and he could also move despite the eye. No doubt about it. He’s tied to Lucivar sohow.’

Other than her, everyone else was suspended in ti.

It was the power of the God backing the man, a nesis to the God inside Lucivar.

So, for this Goblin Hybrid not to be affected, he must be tied to Lucivar.

As Leandra looked at him from the side, she noticed that this Goblin Hybrid looked familiar.

‘I’ve seen him before,’ She tilted her head in thought. ‘But where…?’

Just then, she rembered.

‘He’s the one we fought in that parking lot, isn’t he…?’ She rembered seeing soone like this back then, but it was blurry since she wasn’t particularly focusing on him. ‘Did Lucivar turn him into one of his own like he did to Nerissa? Must be.’

Ahead, the man gazed ahead after he recovered.

Even though he sensed the attack coming, he couldn’t react in ti.

A sharp pain stung his stomach.

He grunted and looked down, knowing for certain that he had a broken rib underneath his clothes.

But it was nothing he couldn’t handle.

“I was wondering who the filthy God was who managed to cultivate an avatar that could kill Sunna. It’s rather hard to kill her avatar with how much sunlight this world is suspected to have, but now I understand,” He stood up, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. “It’s you… Sutekh. I should’ve known that it would be you.”

Zibbo looked at the man with a neutral expression.

Nothing on his face portrays the emotions inside of him right now.

But if anyone could read his mind, it was utter panic and confusion.

‘Eh… What’s he talking about? Did he know ?’ Zibbo thought, a bead of cold sweat trickling down the side of his face as he tried to keep his face neutral. ‘Who’s Sunna? Is she dead? Who killed her? It’s certainly not . And Sutekh… If I rember correctly, he should be the ruler of that place, that… that Hellish place. Eugh, only recalling that mont gave goosebumps.’

Recalling the ti when Lucivar turned him, Zibbo shivered.

He died and got revived again before becoming a Vestal.

For a mont, there was peace.

Lucivar didn’t seek him out, and he could do his own thing without worry.

‘I was focusing on taking over the gang, which he told to do, and it was going smoothly. But out of nowhere, that black cat called and told to be here. Lucivar said so, she said,’ Zibbo wanted to scratch the back of his head, but stopped himself. ‘Just what did I get myself into again?’

Earlier, he was mingling with the security guards at the main entrance of the academy.

Both of them were kind enough to give him coffee.

And he was stunned when the two of them stopped in the middle of telling him sothing.

He was curious as the security guards ntioned the coffee being very special, brewed from rare, exotic beans, but they abruptly stopped short of revealing what kind. Suspended in ti. Before he could press further, a commotion nearby drew his attention.

That’s when he saw Leandra in trouble.

Zibbo didn’t know what was going on, but since he and Leandra could move, he decided to help.

Who knows? Maybe Lucivar told him to be here in case sothing like this happened.

“Stop talking too much and attack . I dare you.”

Zibbo said nacingly.

It wasn’t that he wanted to fight, but he felt like saying it like that was the right thing to do for him.

Sothing inside him wanted him to say that.

“You and your arrogance,” The man chuckled. “Unfortunately, our ti is up, so we’ll have to make do with this. I failed to get what I wanted—but make no mistake, this is not a total failure. Tell this to your master. Horus knows where he and his kind crawl. And the light is coming. You cannot escape the falcon’s eye.”

As he said that, his body evaporated, rging with the wind.

Like a ghost, the man cos and goes as he pleases.

Once he disappeared, the eye above the student dormitory closed, and then finally disappeared.

Ti returned to normal.

Leandra could feel the night breeze brushing against her body naturally again.

Even the influence that man has over the students disappeared, returning their eyes to normal again.

None of them died, and that’s a relief.

“Are you sent here by Lucivar to protect us?”

Leandra curiously asked.

She was hissing in between from the painful cuts she suffered.

Zibbo turned to Leandra, his face as cold as stone.

Considering his stature, almost reaching seven feet tall easily, along with his mutant body, Zibbo looked extrely nacing. And his cold expression amplified his aura, like a stone-cold warrior who has gone through countless battles.

But that wasn’t the case entirely.

“Ah, yes… I was told to stay nearby, but Lucivar didn’t know what for.”

He answered with slouched shoulders, scratching the back of his head like a man unsure of himself.

Leandra’s expression broke when she saw this.

She was unsure how she would approach Zibbo because of the cold air around him.

But that air disappeared instantly when he opened his mouth.

“Where’s all that confidence go? Is that a fluke?”

“No… I’m not sure. I feel like I have to act like that in front of that man.”

“You don’t say…”

Leandra averted her gaze, a bit elated inside.

‘At least now I have the answer. He did care about us.’

anwhile, Sector 4, Darkblood Street.

A pair of glowing eyes could be seen peeking from behind a tree like a stalking predator.

Across from it was a mansion, and there was a car in the inner yard, heading for the entrance.

Once the headlight reached the tree, the woman pulled away.

She waited for the car to leave and disappeared to the end of the street before peeking again.

“Master Tobias is leaving this late in the night…?” Ravenna mumbled, her eyes narrowing as she looked back to the mansion, fixing on the butler who opened the main gate for the car heading back. “I wanted to follow him, but tonight, that’s not my priority.”

Ravenna closed her eyes, recalling what Sabrina told her earlier.

“Teresa… She’s the head maid of the mansion. I’ll get my answers if I can get to her.”

She inhaled deeply through her nose and then exhaled as she opened her eyes.

Nodding her head, she walked out of her cover to infiltrate the mansion.
