Liang's eyes widened involuntarily, a searing pain piercing his soul. On the cultivation platform, the ethereal woman regarded him with amusent, her smile widening.
Unable to confront her piercing gaze, Liang averted his own, his mind in turmoil.
"Compose yourself. We have much to do," the woman uttered softly.
Liang nodded, inhaling deeply and restraining the tempest of emotions within. Regaining so semblance of composure, he returned his gaze to the woman.
The white-robed figure inclined her head slightly. "Very well. Ascend the cultivation platform."
Liang stepped forward onto its smooth surface, his heart palpitating with both anticipation and trepidation.
"Nine-tailed immortal fox," Liang thought to himself, his mind racing. This woman must be the legendary creature from the tales.
""Serpent boy, be assured I harbor no ill will towards you. All I require is your unwavering loyalty and fulfillnt of our agreent."
Liang nodded sagely. "Having joined the Divine Spirit Palace, I pledge my loyalty to it."
The white-robed figure nodded in satisfaction. "Since our agreent have been forged, I shall now begin."
As she spoke her nine ethereal tails floated towards Liang, the mont these wispy tails made contact with his body, a surge of searing pain coursed through Liang's veins. His very essence seed to ignite as if a primordial fla had been kindled within him. Agony washed over his senses, threatening to consu him entirely.
Undeterred, the nine tails continued their relentless dance, weaving in and out of his flesh, seemingly seeking out every fiber of his being. Liang gritted his teeth, his body arching in defiance against the excruciating pain that threatened to shatter his will.
Monts turned into hours, and hours into what felt like an eternity. The relentless tornt pushed Liang to the brink of his endurance, threatening to break him both physically and ntally.
As the pain reached its zenith, Liang's consciousness began to slip away. In his fading monts, he caught a glimpse of the white-robed figure standing over him, her eyes shimring with an otherworldly light.
"Endure, serpent child, we are almost done."
And with that, darkness enveloped Liang, consuming him like a ravenous void.
When Liang's senses returned, he found himself lying on the cultivation platform, his body exhausted but his spirit inexplicably rejuvenated.
"We are nearing completion. Let us now comnce the final stage."
As her voice sounded, the platform emitted a gentle glow that enveloped Liang's body like a cocoon. Thousands of runes surged from the platform's surface, swirling around him like a cosmic storm.
The ethereal runes penetrated Liang's pores, circulating through his ridians and perating his entire being. As they coursed through his body, Liang felt an indescribable sensation wash over him. It was as if his very essence was being refined and purified.
The process continued for hours, the runes unceasing in their relentless exploration of Liang's body. Each pass seed to unearth so dormant potential within him.
Slowly, the runes dissipated into nothingness, yet their ethereal presence lingered.
Within the depths of Liang's being, a profound transformation was taking place. At the center of his chest, where his heart once resided, an ethereal light blossod, gradually taking shape.
As the light intensified, it began to assu a familiar form—the silhouette of a serpentine creature, its scales shimring with iridescent brilliance. But this was no ordinary serpent; it possessed nine distinct tails.
The nine-tailed silhouette grew larger and more distinct, its energy weaving through Liang's body, It entwined with his soul blood, rging with his very essence.
As the process reached its completion, the nine-tailed creature let out an ethereal roar, its sound reverberating through Liang's soul. With a blinding flash of light, the silhouette disappeared, leaving behind a profound imprint within Liang's being—his newly forged bloodline source.
With the forging of his bloodline source complete, Liang felt a surge of unprecedented power coursing through his veins. He could sense the profound connection between himself and the nine-tailed creature.
The white-robed figure observed him with a satisfied expression,"Excellent. The forging of your bloodline source has been successful."
Liang inclined his head in acknowledgnt, a glimr of bewildernt lingering in his eyes.
As if perceiving his thoughts, the white-robed woman chuckled softly. "This bloodline source bears no affiliation to mine; it is a distinct entity. The nine tails it has inherited are a re semblance of mine, lacking its true essence."
Liang's gaze flickered as he turned his attention towards the cause and effect threads that intertwined around him. To his astonishnt, their number remained unchanged, with only two threads connecting him to the Divine Spirit Palace.
Yet as his gaze shifted to a particular spot, a sudden realization struck Liang with surprise, causing his eyes to widen in astonishnt—the thread that once bound him to the Infernal Void Spirit Race had vanished entirely.
Even when the Primordial Runic Ancestor had severed his bloodline connection, the thread had rely weakened. Yet, this ti, it had been extinguished.
"Ah, you have detected it!" The woman's eyes sparkled with surprise as they followed his line of sight.
Liang's deanor shifted instantly, but his voice remained composed, "What might young miss imply?"
"As the one who reforged your bloodline source, I can sense these changes even more acutely than you," the woman replied with amusent.
Liang inwardly sneered. despite being exposed, he maintained a semblance of bitterness on his face, "I rely felt so sort of connection being severed."
"Indeed," the woman nodded. "The complete severance of the ethereal link between you and the Infernal Void Spirit Race."
"Complete severance?"
She affird with a nod. "Previously, your bloodline source was rely severed, leaving open the possibility of restoration. However, the creation of this new bloodline source extinguished that connection."
Understanding dawned upon Liang's face. "I am now entirely independent of the Infernal Void Spirit Race."
The woman gave a serene nod.
Liang extended his cupped hands in gratitude. "Young Miss, I am eternally indebted to you for this."
"There is no need for gratitude," she responded. "I rely fulfilled our agreent."
A golden token materialized before her. "This token grants you access to the Immortal Dragon Spring."
Liang accepted it with open hands, his eyes filled with anticipation. "I will not let you down."
With another nod, the woman produced a second token. "This contains three bloodline cultivation thods. While not perfectly suited to you, they will suffice for your current needs."
Liang's gaze held a flicker of appreciation as he took the second token. "I will procure the item you desire as soon as my cultivation is complete."
"Splendid," the woman replied. "I eagerly await its arrival."
Liang bowed once more before departing from the magnificent hall.
Upon exiting the hall, Liang's ears were t with the imdiate sound of Sun Wu's inquiry, "How is it?"
Liang's gaze locked deeply with Sun Wu's before a smile graced his eyes. "Everything has gone smoothly, thanks to Senior Brother's assistance."
Sun Wu patted Liang on the shoulder with a laugh. "Don't ntion it." He then turned and strode away. "Now, let's make our way to the Immortal Dragon Spring."
Liang nodded in agreent and followed Sun Wu out of the Immortal Palace.
"Show your token, Junior Brother Liang," Sun Wu requested as soon as they erged.
Liang swiftly complied, retrieving the gleaming token from his space ring and handing it to Sun Wu. With a flick of his wrist, Sun Wu produced another token from his robe, He then tossed the two tokens into the air.
To Liang's astonishnt, the tokens began to spiral around each other with astonishing speed, Their movent blurred into a dazzling spectacle, far exceeding the limits of Liang's universe sense.
After a brief mont, the tokens began to pull apart, and the space between them warped and twisted, forming a swirling tunnel of shimring light.
As the tokens floated down and settled onto the ground, Sun Wu regarded Liang with a serious deanor. "
"Junior Brother Liang, take your token and enter," Sun Wu instructed. "The tunnel will seal shut once you have passed through. When the ti cos for your departure, simply cast the token into the air."
After a mont's contemplation, Liang reached down, grasped his token tightly, and nodded. "Thank you for your guidance, Senior Brother. I will surely repay your kindness in the future."
With a strange smile, Liang stepped into the space tunnel.
Monts later, he erged on the other side.
"Interesting." His eyes lit up as his gaze fell on the new surroundings.
He found himself in a dark, vast cave, seemingly buried deep underground.
What intrigued Liang the most was that, despite extending his divine sense to its full capacity, he couldn't ascertain the cave's size.
His divine sense, capable of enveloping an entire solar system, struggled to scan even a fraction of this mysterious cave.
Liang continued to wander through the cave. As he did, he could sense trails of mysterious energies that seed to constantly flow out from the heart of the cave, making it increasingly difficult for him to tell where the exit was.
"There it is."
