Chapter 76: Chapter 76: The Round of Thirty-Two — lting the Iron (Part 2)

The battlefield had changed so drastically that it could no longer be described as a simple arena. What had once been a flat and controlled platform had now turned into a fractured and hostile environnt, shaped entirely by the presence and power of the Ironclad Juggernaut.

The stone surface was broken in countless places, with deep cracks spreading outward like veins beneath the ground. From those cracks, jagged tal spikes continued to rise and fall in unpredictable patterns, reacting to the Juggernaut’s movents as though the battlefield itself were alive.

Each step taken by the massive construct sent vibrations through the platform, causing the terrain to shift further. The longer the battle continued, the more unstable the environnt beca.

At the center of this dangerous field stood Aether.

His posture remained relaxed, his breathing steady, and his expression calm, as though he were observing a situation that he had already begun to understand. There was no tension in his shoulders, no urgency in his stance.

Instead, there was focus.

Careful, deliberate focus.

Across from him, the Ironclad Juggernaut advanced once again. Its movents were slow but relentless, and each step carried an undeniable weight that made the air feel heavier.

"It is not trying to rush the fight," the familiar voice spoke calmly within Aether’s mind. "Instead, it is shaping the battlefield so that you are forced into a position where escape becos impossible."

Aether’s gaze remained fixed on the Juggernaut as he replied quietly, "Yes, I have already noticed that pattern. It is not reacting to my movents. It is controlling the space itself so that I have fewer options with each passing mont."

"That is exactly why this opponent is dangerous," she continued. "You are not being pressured by speed or aggression. You are being confined."

Aether gave a faint nod, acknowledging the accuracy of her observation. "Then the solution is not to avoid the pressure, but to understand how it is being created."

The Juggernaut suddenly raised both of its arms, its movents heavy but precise.

Instead of striking downward as it had before, it thrust both fists forward with trendous force.

The impact sent a powerful surge of tallic energy across the platform, and the battlefield reacted imdiately.

A wide arc of spikes erupted from the ground, spreading outward rapidly and covering nearly half the arena in a single motion.

Aether’s voice remained steady as he issued his command. "Move two steps to the left and then jump imdiately after. Be prepared to adjust mid-air."

The Fla Sovereign Pup responded instantly. Its body moved with controlled precision, dodging the initial wave of spikes while maintaining balance. Flas flickered beneath its paws as it adjusted its position mid-air, narrowly avoiding a second set of spikes that erged from below.

Although the attack had been avoided, the situation had beco more restrictive.

The available space around the Fla Pup was shrinking.

Every movent required greater accuracy than before.

Every step carried increased risk.

Aether’s eyes narrowed slightly as he continued to observe the battlefield. "This is no longer a defensive strategy," he said quietly. "It has evolved into a thod of control."

"You are correct," she replied. "The Juggernaut is no longer simply protecting itself. It is actively turning the battlefield into a layered trap designed to limit your movent and force you into predictable positions."

Aether exhaled slowly, maintaining his composure. "Then the key is not to break through the defense directly, but to disrupt the system that supports it."

He shifted his focus to the interaction between the Juggernaut and the terrain.

Every ti the Juggernaut moved, the ground reacted.

Every ti the ground shifted, the Juggernaut’s stance adjusted in response.

The connection was clear.

"This is not a collection of separate abilities," Aether said thoughtfully. "It is a unified structure that operates as a single system."

"That is precisely what it is," she confird. "You are not facing a single opponent. You are facing an integrated chanism that extends across the battlefield."

Aether nodded slightly as the realization settled in.

This was not rely a defensive construct.

It was a moving fortress.

And that fortress was directly linked to the terrain itself.

Aether raised his hand slightly as he made his next decision. "Maintain a continuous output of heat," he instructed.

The Fla Sovereign Pup responded imdiately. Its flas shifted, no longer erupting in bursts, but instead sustaining a steady and controlled release of heat.

The temperature across the battlefield began to rise gradually.

The air shimred under the increasing heat, and the tal spikes embedded in the ground started to glow faintly.

At first, nothing seed to change.

The Juggernaut continued advancing with the sa steady pace, showing no signs of hesitation or weakness.

The opponent observed carefully, his expression composed but attentive. "You are not attacking directly," he said. "Instead, you are applying pressure over ti."

Aether did not respond, because there was nothing to add.

This was not an attack.

It was preparation.

Several seconds passed, and then more.

Gradually, the effect began to reveal itself.

The tal spikes embedded in the ground started to expand slightly as the heat affected their structure. The change was subtle, but it was enough to alter the battlefield’s stability.

The Juggernaut’s movents slowed.

Only slightly, but enough to be noticeable.

The opponent’s expression changed as realization dawned on him. "You are heating the entire battlefield to weaken its structural integrity," he said. "You are not trying to destroy it imdiately. You are forcing it to degrade."

Aether remained silent, confirming his intent through action rather than words.

Direct attacks would never be sufficient to break the Juggernaut’s armor.

But sustained heat—

Would gradually weaken it.

The opponent raised his hand sharply. "Reinforce the structure imdiately," he commanded.

The Juggernaut responded at once.

A low, resonant sound echoed as its entire body began to glow faintly. The tallic plates tightened, and the seams between them compressed, increasing the density of its armor.

At the sa ti, the battlefield stabilized.

The spikes stopped expanding.

The cracks ceased spreading.

The rising heat was being resisted.

"You expected this response," she said.

Aether nodded. "Yes. Reinforcent is the natural counter to sustained pressure."

However, he understood sothing crucial.

Reinforcent required energy.

And the more the Juggernaut relied on it—

The more strain it placed on itself.

Aether took a step forward. "Now focus the heat into a single point," he instructed.

The Fla Sovereign Pup adjusted imdiately.

The continuous heat remained, but it now began to concentrate at specific locations rather than spreading evenly.

The flas grew sharper and more intense.

The Fla Pup dashed forward with precision and struck the Juggernaut at the sa point as before.

The impact echoed across the arena.

This ti, the result was different.

The tal glowed brighter.

A small dent appeared.

It was minor, but it was undeniable.

The opponent’s eyes widened slightly. "You are layering the damage in a single location instead of dispersing it," he said. "You are building pressure over ti rather than relying on brute force."

Aether spoke calmly. "Yes. That is the only effective thod."

The Juggernaut retaliated imdiately, swinging its arm downward with increased force.

"Move back and maintain distance," Aether instructed.

The Fla Pup dodged the attack, though the margin for error had beco much smaller.

The impact shattered a portion of the platform, sending debris flying.

The battlefield was beginning to collapse under the strain of repeated impacts.

"You are pushing the system beyond its intended limits," she warned.

Aether’s expression remained unchanged. "That is necessary. If it does not reach its limit, it will never break."

He continued observing carefully.

Each reinforcent triggered a reaction beneath the surface.

Each movent drew energy from the ground itself.

"There is a connection," Aether said quietly. "The Juggernaut is drawing power from the battlefield."

"And that connection is the real weakness," she replied.

Aether’s eyes sharpened. "Exactly."

He gave his next command.

"Redirect the attack downward and disrupt the foundation."

The Fla Sovereign Pup responded instantly.

It struck the ground with a concentrated burst of fla.

The heat penetrated deep into the cracks and spread beneath the surface.

The effect was imdiate.

The tal spikes surrounding the Juggernaut faltered.

Their movents beca unstable.

The structure that had once been perfectly controlled began to break apart.

For the first ti since the battle began—

The system failed.

The opponent’s expression hardened as he recognized what had happened. "You have identified the core of the structure," he said slowly.

Aether did not respond.

Because the battlefield itself had already confird it.

The Juggernaut was no longer untouchable.

Its armor had begun to weaken.

Its control over the terrain had begun to falter.

And most importantly—

The connection that sustained its dominance had been disrupted.

Aether stood calmly, his gaze steady and focused.

He had found the key to breaking the unbreakable.

However, the battle was not over.

Because now that its advantage had been challenged—

The Juggernaut would be forced to respond with everything it had left.

And that response—

Would determine how the battle would end.
