The two Black Base champions defending the white lane were two Star Rulers who were complete strangers before this.
There were very few occasions where Star Rulers tead up to begin with, so there were many loners in the Myriad Heavens Starry Road. But they just had to et the perfectly-coordinated Ying Ge and Zi Dian combo right at the start, making these two feel sowhat helpless.
This also wasn’t the first ti that the two from the Black Base had entered Champions World. They knew very well that coordination between champions in a team of two would impact the battle greatly.
Therefore, from the beginning, the two of them never planned to seek any ritorious achievents. Rather, they simply sought to not make mistakes, which was why they hid behind their city wall all this ti.
This tactic seed to be very effective. At least so far, the Ying Ge-Zi Dian team that had tacit coordination between them could only attack the city wall but couldn’t kill these champiions.
However, this deadlock was broken when the opponent’s third wave arrived.
Those two champions were still hovering in the air when they suddenly sensed a fluctuation of laws among the minions on the ground.
"Prodigious Realm power, it’s a champion!" One of the Star Rulers was imdiately startled. Right when he wanted to call out to his companion to be careful, he saw the one-eyed Star Ruler beside him stare behind him with horror.
Before he could do anything, he felt a sudden pain in his back. The terrifying strength behind the attack practically swatted him out of the air.
But it wasn’t over yet. He didn't have ti to turn around at all before another series of attacks descended.
The tearing pain on his body made the Star Ruler both surprised and furious. He knew that he had little health left, but he just couldn’t figure out…
‘How can there be such a powerful opponent?’
‘We’re still within our city walls!’
He was absolutely right. Almost at the sa ti he died, a beam of light suddenly shot out from the city wall and slamd into the enemy behind him.
For champions at this stage of the ga, the city walls still held considerable attack power.
Even if Gu Nan had circled around Mi Luo and Mi Tian and killed them again, successfully ranking up his Evil God Physique to Level 2, he still couldn't withstand the damage dealt by the city wall.
The laser beam pierced through his chest. The searing heat from the high-energy attack left a scorched mark on Gu Nan, and even his tissues began to char.
But he still didn't intend to leave. His gaze shifted to the one-eyed Star Ruler beside him who was still alive.
The latter’s mouth twitched slightly. He had nowhere to escape, so he could only lift his hand helplessly and strike at Gu Nan.
At the start of the battle, almost everyone picked offensive abilities in order to gain a pushing advantage, so the one-eyed Star Ruler could only try and see if he could kill Gu Nan right now.
Of course this was impossible.
A Gu Nan with three abilities unlocked was much more flexible than he was. Before the other party’s attack even reached him, he had already “Blinked” behind the enemy, continuously swinging his shadow sword down.
This ti, however, his Shadow Sword Overlay had gone into cooldown, so he had to tank another attack from the city wall.
After tanking three consecutive laser beams, Gu Nan finally succeeded in killing the one-eyed Star Ruler, while he himself was also riddled with holes.
"Can't tank it, can't dodge it. It really is a Prodigious killer," Gu Nan spent the last of his strength to instantly leave using Blink while muttering.
The city wall’s laser beam was mostly composed of the power of laws, yet it also ca preinstalled with the “law nullification” characteristic, so most of the damage directly acted upon Gu Nan’s body.
It was fortunate that Gu Nan ranked up his defensive ability twice, or else he probably wouldn’t even be able to tank one hit.
However, another 1,000 champion coins were deposited into his account, and he also reached Level 3 from the EXP gain, which made Gu Nan feel gratified after all was said and done.
Two more streaks of white light flashed across the sky again. Ying Ge and Zi Dian helplessly exchanged a glance. They finally knew why the two enemy champions on the other lane kept dying so miserably and frequently.
‘This Gu Nan has clearly unlocked three abilities—he can kill enemy champions by himself!’
Neither of them provided any help during the entire "tower dive" process. At best, they rely helped push the wave forward, giving Gu Nan a chance to approach the enemy.
In the ga’s jargon, Gu Nan’s developnt had far outpaced the other side now that he had six kills under his belt.
That, combined with the fact that his ability configuration was that of an assassin to begin with, enabled him to achieve such an unimaginable result.
"But with your current injuries, I'm afraid it’ll take a long ti to recover, won’t it?" Ying Ge asked Gu Nan just as he returned to their side.
Gu Nan, who’d continuously tanked the tower shots, really did look a little miserable right now.
The city wall’s laser beam contained a disintegration attribute, causing Gu Nan's entire left hand to be riddled with densely-packed small holes. This appearance alone was enough to drive those with trypophobia crazy.
And although champion fountains existed in Champions World, they were only good for respawning champions and didn’t have any effect like accelerating healing.
"Yeah, it’ll take at least a few days to recover," Gu Nan agreed.
While it was true that the Evil God Physique was very powerful, without Praise of Dawn to speed up recovery by three tis, it was impossible for injuries like this to recover quickly.

At that mont, a shadow slunk to the sky above the enemy’s city wall. The obvious law fluctuation startled the two of them. They knew that that guy had returned.
"You’ve worked hard." Gu Nan looked down with satisfaction. Four minion waves were gathered together on the ground.
"Why did it take you so long to return this ti?" Wu Gui was a little baffled. She saw the white flashes light up the sky a long ti ago.
Gu Nan didn't say he "returned to the city for free" for a wave, which wasted so ti. He just said, "Cut them loose. We'll head straight to the high ground this wave."
