The chakra generator pulsed in soft rhythm, its carved runes glowing dimly along the stone wall. It wasn't complex, just a spiral seal array etched into a stone turbine, turning ever so gently as it pulled chakra from the bedrock deep beneath Konoha. Where most saw only dirt and sedint, Haji ca back right away after leaving the Hokage building, he had felt flow, channels of ambient chakra like buried rivers. The generator drank from it, converted it. No wires. No fuel. Only intent and geotry. It powered the lights, the containnt pod or semi reinforce stasis field, the preservation systems. A quiet pulse of will.

Haji stood barefoot on the lab floor, his halberd resting silently by the wall. His cloak was neatly folded on a stone hook. The air was still and cold, yet the space felt alive. The forge, the benches, the sigil-etched tools, all of them built by hand, but refined by mind. Most were Konoha dical tools, repurposed and enhanced, but the real work was always done by psychic force. Tools guided not by gears, but by thought.

In front of him hovered the Sinew Coils.

Contained in a reinforced pod carved from obsidian and lined with stasis-bond seals, they floated like roots of divine muscle, braided helixes of chakra-reactive fiber and living tendon, crafted from Zetsu tissue and psychic-forged chakra alloy. They shimred faintly, not glowing with heat, but with contained potential. Raw, perfect tension.

He had made them with precision. They were flawless.

And yet, he didn't reach for them.

Not yet.

The mory returned, unbidden, quiet, but clear.

It wasn't his own.

It belonged to Apothecary Maladie, whose thoughts had been sealed into the gene-seed Haji carried. The Grey Knight Apothecary had overseen hundreds of implantations also read the implantation of the Primaris Astartes. The Sinew Coils… even among Astartes, they were volatile. A dozen recruits, once enhanced, had torn ligants in training. One had ripped a door from its hinges and shattered his own forearm from the recoil. Another had seized up mid-swing and snapped his spine.

Even though they didn't die as there are healing technology.

Haji's hands curled slowly into fists. He looked down at his bare arms, veins like steel wire under pale skin, already denser than any human. And he knew, if he implanted the Sinew Coils now, he would survive.

His psychic power could stop bleeding. Could realign torn muscle. Could suppress a misfired nerve spike before it shattered a joint. He wouldn't die.

But he would be injured. Worse, destabilized. His motions would twitch. His nerves would scream. His control would slip.

And Haji didn't allow for failure. Not even montary.

"I need control," he said aloud, voice quiet in the stone silence. "Containnt. Restraint."

He turned to the forge, not chanical, not physical. Just a space of carved stone surrounded by sigils that ford a psychic lattice. He raised one hand, fingers glowing faintly with Warp light, and began the work.

The Fra

He forged first the spinal brace, drawing chakra-dampening seal from a small box of scrolls gifted by Tsunade long ago as his study for continuing learning as her student. Then haji continuing using Chakra tals from Tsunade, He didn't lt it with heat. Instead, his mind compressed it, folding it at the molecular level until it shimred silver-blue, shaped like vertebral arcs. The fra ran down the center of his back like a second spine, reinforced at the shoulders, hips, and collarbone.

It wasn't armor. There were no plates. No shields.

It was scaffolding.

Next ca the joint bracings, shaped to slide over his knees, elbows, and clavicles, connected by cord-like straps of chakra cloth. They would anchor the skeleton of his strength, keep his limbs from overextending in the first hours post-implantation.

Then, the electro-muscle suppression cords, though they bore no electricity.

They were woven tendons, ford from hybrid fibers that coiled when exposed to stress. Each was thin, strong, and laced with micro-seals. When tension surged too fast through his muscles, the cords would pull against it, creating controlled resistance.

Forearms. Biceps. Thighs.

A net of restraint that looked light… but held the weight of titans.

The Collar

The final piece was a neural dampening collar, a narrow band worn around the neck, made of chakra-insulated thread and etched with psychic dampening glyphs. It wouldn't slow him down. It wouldn't block his thoughts.

It would soften the nerve bursts that caused accidental tremors.

It would teach his nervous system how to fire at a new threshold.

He etched the final rune slowly, mind focused, precision absolute.

Then he placed the pieces of the fra on a stone slab. It looked small. Incomplete. But Haji had seen Grey Knights die because they underestimated the demands of power. This wasn't a mistake he would repeat.

He sat and began strapping the fra on.

Alignnt

The spine fra clamped into place, chakra plates aligning with his vertebrae. The joint guards sealed against his elbows and knees. The muscle cords wrapped like living coils around his limbs, their counter-tension humming faintly as they calibrated. The collar pulsed once, syncing to his heart rate, then settled into silence.

He stood.

Moved one arm forward.

No resistance. No instability. The cords flexed with him, like muscle reborn.

He rolled his shoulder. Squatted. Twisted. Every joint obeyed. No tremble. No spasm.

"This isn't armor," he whispered. "It's the wall between discipline and destruction."

He turned at last to the containnt pod or semi reinforced Stasis pod

It was crude by Imperium standards, but he had shaped it using the mory of a Techmarine who once forged bio-vaults for gene-seed storage. Lacking stasis field tech, Haji had replaced it with psychic preservation seals, suspended in a fluid rich in Yang chakra and regenerative enzys. It didn't stop ti, but it preserved biology perfectly. There was no decay. No aging.

The Sinew Coils shimred inside, waiting. Alive.

"I'm ready," Haji said.

He reached out with his hand, not to open the pod… but to ditate.

Tonight, he would rest.

Tomorrow, he would bind the coils into his flesh.

And beco more than Astartes.

More than Grey.

He would beco the future.
