"Are you going to be okay, Shiro?"

Shiro exhaled sharply, his fists clenching and unclenching at his sides.

"I think so. I just need to calm down."

Voltaris humd in response, his presence a steadying force in Shiro's mind.

"Just know that I'm here if you need to talk about it."

Shiro gave a small, almost imperceptible nod.

"Thanks, Voltaris."

"Anyti, partner."

Just then, footsteps echoed down the hallway. Shiro looked up to see Sirzechs Lucifer approaching, holding a folded piece of paper between his fingers.

"Shiro," Sirzechs said, his voice calm but firm as he extended the note toward him. "Here. This will teleport you outside the party hall. Use it at exactly 8 PM, and be prepared for a fight tomorrow."

Shiro took the paper, glancing down at the intricate magic circle drawn on it before smirking. "Don't worry. I will."

Sirzechs studied him for a mont before nodding in approval. "Then I'll see you there."

The hours leading up to 8 PM passed in tense anticipation. Koneko had been strictly instructed to stay in bed and rest, though she hadn't been happy about it. Shiro had just left her room, knowing she needed ti to recover.

Now, back in his own quarters, he sat on the edge of his bed, eyes locked onto the teleportation talisman in his hands. The weight of what he was about to do settled on his shoulders, but he felt no hesitation—only determination.

"Are you ready for this?" Voltaris's voice rang in his mind again, steady as ever.

Shiro closed his eyes, inhaling deeply before exhaling.

"Yes. I'm ready."

Then, as the clock struck 8 PM, the teleportation spell activated.

A surge of energy engulfed him, and in an instant, he was standing before the grand doors of the Phenex estate's lavish ballroom.

He wasted no ti.

"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!"

A powerful shockwave erupted as his fla-imbued fist slamd into the massive wooden doors, blasting them open. The force sent splinters flying and rattled the very foundation of the hall, causing guests to gasp and scatter in fear.

Shiro stepped forward through the smoke and debris, his golden eyes locked onto one person.

Riser Phenex.

The self-proclaid nobleman stood at the center of the ballroom, dressed in ceremonial wedding attire, an arrogant smirk playing on his lips—until his gaze t Shiro's.

Riser's expression twisted with rage. "You! How dare you interrupt my wedding, you scum!"

Shiro's voice was deathly cold. "Riser… I'm here to kill you."

The room fell silent.

The tension was so thick it was suffocating.

Riser's face contorted in fury. "How dare you speak to that way, you worm! Guards!"

At his command, a squad of armored devils rushed forward, encircling Shiro with weapons drawn.

Shiro didn't even flinch.

"MIST OF DEATH."

A thick, eerie fog erupted from his outstretched hand, coating the guards in its lethal embrace. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, completely immobilized.

Gasps of horror and awe echoed throughout the ballroom.

Even Riser took a step back.

Before he could react, a powerful voice cut through the chaos.

"Enough."

The air grew heavy as Sirzechs Lucifer stepped forward, his very presence demanding obedience.

"I set this up," Sirzechs declared, his piercing crimson gaze locking onto Riser.

Riser gaped at him. "L-Lord Sirzechs, what is the aning of this?"

Sirzechs remained composed, his expression unreadable. "Riser, though you technically won the Rating Ga against my sister, you did so in a disgraceful manner—so much so that even your own parents feel ashad."

At those words, Riser flinched. His gaze darted toward Lord and Lady Phenex, who stood at the side, their faces a mix of disappointnt and embarrassnt.

Sirzechs continued, "I have arranged for this one-on-one duel as a ans for you to redeem yourself."

Gasps filled the room. Whispers of excitent and speculation spread like wildfire.

Shiro smirked, crossing his arms. "I've already spoken with Sirzechs and agreed to the terms. If I win, Rias's freedom is guaranteed… along with a few other rewards."

A murmur spread through the crowd.

"Are you kidding ?" a random noble scoffed.

"He's nothing but a human," another sneered.

"Silence!" Sirzechs commanded, his magic flaring just enough to send a warning. The room imdiately fell silent.

His gaze turned back to Riser. "Since Shiro has nad his conditions, what would you like in return?"

Riser's expression darkened, his pride taking a blow from the very idea of needing to prove himself. "Riser has only one request…"

His eyes glead with cruelty as he smirked.

"…Make this a battle to the death."

The air in the ballroom turned ice cold.

Lady Phenex gasped. "Riser, that's—"

Sirzechs remained still, then slowly turned to Shiro. "Shiro… do you accept?"

Shiro grinned—a sharp, predatory grin.

"I do."

And with that, the spell was cast.

A blinding light surrounded both combatants as they were teleported to the dueling arena.

….

Sirzechs raised his hand, his voice resonating across the battlefield.

"You may begin!"

The mont the words left his mouth, Riser wasted no ti. A massive fireball, nearly the size of a boulder, ford in his palm before he hurled it toward Shiro.

The flas engulfed him instantly.

A twisted smirk spread across Riser's face as he crossed his arms. "And that's how you compare to , you filthy human!"

But as the smoke cleared, his confidence wavered.

Shiro stepped forward, completely unhard, erging from the smoldering crater with a fiery aura licking at his skin. His golden eyes glead with an eerie intensity.

"Riser," Shiro spoke, his voice low and nacing, "I made a promise to my friends. And that was… only one of us will die tonight."

Riser snarled, his pride wounded. "And that one is YOU!"

With an enraged roar, Riser conjured an even larger fireball, its heat warping the very air around it. He threw it with all his might, the sheer force shaking the ground beneath them.

Shiro didn't dodge.

As the explosion erupted upon impact, sending a shockwave throughout the arena, the audience watched in stunned silence.

When the smoke finally dissipated, Shiro still stood—unscathed.

Riser's eyes widened in disbelief.

Shiro's stance shifted, his muscles tensed as he surged forward.

"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!!!"
