“Where is my card? Hand it over honestly, and I might spare your life.”
Hohenheim’s words were explicit: either give up the item, or face death.
This was Arica, after all. The death of a person wasn’t anything unusual, especially when dealing with a significant figure like Hohenheim. If he wished, making an unidentified criminal disappear would be a trivial matter.
The man was visibly scared. He was just a petty thief; how could he possibly provoke soone as influential as Hohenheim?
“It wasn’t ! I only stole so antiques. I have no idea what card you’re talking about!”
Hohenheim had no intention of wasting more words on him. He ordered his n to drag the thief away. Those who had previously sealed off the hotel were also dismissed.
Since everyone had left, there was no reason for Luo Feng to stay. He proceeded to the auction venue.
The auction hall was far from bustling; it was sowhat deserted.
This auction was by invitation only, a far cry from the public one Luo Feng had attended in Atlanta.
Outside the venue, several journalists were watching, trying to glean information. However, they were politely turned away by security whenever they approached the entrance.
This was a private auction; absolutely no outsiders, including the dia, were allowed.
Luo Feng experienced the sa treatnt when he approached the entrance.
“Sorry, sir, this is a private venue. Without an invitation, you cannot enter,” said the security guard, quite definitively.
Luo Feng simply smiled. “How do you know I haven’t received an invitation?”
“Sir, the number of invitees is fixed, and I have morized all their information. I don’t recall anyone like you receiving an invitation.”
The security guard was polite, and Luo Feng didn’t make it hard for him. Instead, he produced his black card.
“Check it,” he suggested.
The security guard was taken aback; these black cards were special, virtually impossible to forge. With a look of disbelief, he swiped the card on his machine, revealing the identity information for Charlie.
“I apologize for the inconvenience. I need to confirm if this card was transferred to you by soone else. Please wait a few minutes.”
Having said that, the security guard hurried off to confirm, leaving Luo Feng waiting at the door.
Before long, a group of people walked arrogantly toward him. At the center of the group was a young man in his twenties.
The man was smug, evidently enjoying the attention and adoration from those around him.
As they walked past Luo Feng, the young man looked at him and snidely remarked to his entourage, “I thought this was an invitation-only event. Why is there such a plain-looking person here?”
“Master, don’t worry; let inquire,” said one of his followers, who then approached Luo Feng, scrutinized him from head to toe, and asked disdainfully, “Who are you?”
Luo Feng had no interest in engaging with such a person.
“Hey, I’m talking to you. Are you deaf or mute?” the man said rudely.
“Stay away from ,” Luo Feng retorted coldly.
Feeling his dignity threatened, the man raised his voice. “Do you know who I am? You dare speak to like that? Are you tired of living?”
The young man in his twenties stepped forward. “Answer him while I’m still in a good mood. ssing with won’t end well for you.”
Luo Feng almost laughed at the audacity.
“I’m sorry, but who are you?”
Initially intended as a sarcastic question, it gave the other man an opportunity to flaunt his ego.
“I can’t believe there’s soone in Florida who doesn’t recognize . This is truly eye-opening,” he boasted.
“Tell him who I am. Let this clueless guy be enlightened!”
His entourage eagerly rushed forward. “Haha, you must be a country bumpkin..
Our young master is the heir of the Blake family! Ever heard of them?”
