“Mr. George, the boss said you should go imdiately. Not a mont to waste.”

After a few seconds of silence, George smiled and nodded graciously. “Fine, I understand. I’ll go with you right away.”
George then put aside all his work and followed the secretary to Charlie.
Charlie seed to be engrossed in so paperwork. He didn’t even look up when George arrived.
“Boss, is there sothing urgent you wish to discuss?
George inquired. Only then did Charlie finally lift his gaze, casting a sidelong glance at George.
“Alice has been kidnapped. Are you aware of this?”
Charlie’s blunt question montarily bewildered George. But being a man of experience, George quickly regained his composure.
“How could such a thing happen? In Atlanta of all places, soone dares to kidnap the young lady? They’re practically asking for death!”
George feigned righteous indignation. But Charlie didn’t expose him.
“Yes, I thought everyone in Atlanta would have understood by now not to ss with . But it seems soone still dares to target my daughter.”
Charlie’s words seed probing, and how could George not perceive it?
“Boss, it sounds like you already have a suspect in mind?”
“Indeed. And the suspect I’m considering is you.”
Charlie was forthright about his suspicions, catching George completely off guard. He couldn’t fathom what Charlie was planning.
“How is that possible? Boss, I’ve been loyally working for you for years. How could I commit such a heinous act? Soone must be framing . Please let investigate this matter. I’ll leave no stone unturned and will certainly rescue the young lady!”
George was indignant. Yet, Charlie’s expression remained unchanging.
“Very well. If you want to take responsibility for this, I’ll let you. But you’ll have to make so kind of pledge. After all, I’m still suspecting you.”
Hearing this, George’s face turned grim.
