Instead of answering the shopkeeper, Ren silently surveyed the seals displayed in the shop. His first thought was imdiate, the explosion tags he made were definitely better than the ones being sold here, even the paper on which they were made seed of a lower quality than the one he used while making them.
Without much reaction, he asked, "How much for an explosion tag?"
The shopkeeper's smile widened as he responded, "Oh, the explosion tag? Well, you look like a little genius, graduating so early, eh? So I'll give you one for 490 ryo, and if you buy 10, I'll round them up for 4,800. How about it?"
Ren didn't respond. Instead, he picked up a storage scroll and asked again, "This one?"
The shopkeeper's smile remained, as he replied. "That one's a fixed price of 3,000 ryo. No discounts on storage scrolls."
Ren nodded as if considering it, then asked, "How much do you buy them for?"
The mont those words left Ren's mouth, the shopkeeper's smile stiffened. However, after a brief pause, he still answered, "You want to sell seals?"
Without waiting for Ren's reply, he continued, "Well, even if you did, I wouldn't be able to buy them. The village controls all Fuinjutsu trades. See this?"
He pointed to a small inscription on the bottom left corner of the shop's sign, where it read 'Konoha Certified Dealer.'
"The village buys the seals directly from the makers first, then distributes them to us certified dealers. Only after that can we sell Fuinjutsu items to the public. As part of this system, we aren't allowed to buy from independent sellers."
Ren nodded thoughtfully, absorbing the information. Without another word, he turned and left the marketplace, heading ho.
If he had to sell his Fuinjutsu seals to the village anyway, then he might as well do it through his father, who worked under the Jonin Commander. If he provided high-quality seals, it could even help his father secure a promotion on the job if he made so under the table deals. It was unlikely but it's not like his father was working with soone too high up the ladder right?
If his father had high enough standing in the village then ren would also be able run around without much problems.
By the ti Ren reached ho, he headed straight for the bath. Sitting in the warm water, he opened his Mastery Panel and checked the three new masteries he had been developing over the past month.
[CHAKRA ENHANCENT MASTERY - 40% (BASIC)]
[FUINJUTSU MASTERY - 18% (BEGINNER)]
[YANG RELEASE MASTERY - 15% (BEGINNER)]
His Chakra Enhancent Mastery had improved the fastest, likely because of his already advanced chakra control, now he could enhance eyes, ears and nose.
The tongue was prooving a little tricky because if he ate sothing with his tongue enhanced the flavours beco too strong which breaks his focus.
However, his Fuinjutsu Mastery was progressing more slowly than expected.
This was partly due to the distractions of working on his storage belt and developing enhanced explosion tags, which he hadn't even tested yet. Ren figured that once he started learning more advanced seals, his mastery would increase at a much faster rate.
However, the real problem was his Yang Release Mastery.
Despite dedicating an entire clone to Yang Release training and having nine clones working on Fuinjutsu (which required Yang Release) for almost a whole month, the mastery increase was still much slower than expected.
Then again, this wasn't surprising. Even with 15% mastery, Ren had yet to gain any real understanding of Yang Release it still felt like an abstract concept to him. The only thing he knew was that it had sothing to do with life energy.
'Well, Yin and Yang Release were always considered the most complex in the Naruto world.'
Still, he had a plan. Once his mastery reached Interdiate level, he would dump his saved-up Mastery Points into it for an instant boost.
One possible way to increase his Yang Release Mastery was by learning dical Ninjutsu. However, this was incredibly difficult in Konoha.
There was an entire system in place for d-nins. First, they had to complete compulsory dical education. Then, they had to intern at the Konoha Hospital for a set period. Finally, only after receiving approval from a senior d-nin could they begin learning dical Ninjutsu.
The only way to skip this process was to beco a personal apprentice to a senior dical Ninja.
Ren didn't want to go through Konoha's dical program, but he rembered sothing his sensei had said.
Utakata had already ntioned that all three of them would be required to learn basic dical Ninjutsu just because they were mbers of his team. However, he was adamant about training them all at the sa ti, so Ren would have to wait until Yugao and Hitoshi reached his required level which would be soon since although their chakra control was enough for water walking utakata had higher requirent so they also worked to improve their chakra control.
Ren had a hunch that waiting for Utakata's personal training would be much better than going through Konoha's dical program.
For now, he would just have to be patient. He wanted to read so dical books in the anti but he couldn't find the ti to do so.
After finishing his bath, Ren headed to the kitchen and began preparing dinner.
Just as he was finishing up, Juichi returned ho. He glanced at Ren cooking and casually remarked, "You should've waited, I would've cooked."
Ren simply shrugged and replied, "Don't worry about it."
Juichi humd in response and headed to take a bath while Ren set the table. By the ti dinner was ready, Juichi had returned, and they sat down to eat together.
After dinner, Ren reached into his storage belt and pulled out a stack of explosion tags along with a storage scroll, handing them to his father.
"I've been learning Fuinjutsu for a month and made these."
Juichi, however, didn't even glance at the seals. Instead, his gaze imdiately locked onto the storage belt.
"Forget those," he said, pointing at the belt. "You made this?"
Ren grinned proudly and posed, showing off his belt.
"Yeah! It was tough getting the space symbols to fit within the belt's area, but I managed."
Before he could bask in his achievent any longer, Juichi bonked him on the head.
"Stop grinning like an idiot."
Rubbing his head, Ren pouted as Juichi continued, "You see this?" He pointed to the ninja tool pouch strapped to his leg. "This is also a storage bag, and it probably holds a lot more than your belt. So quit acting like you reinvented Fuinjutsu."
Ren's excitent dimd slightly, but Juichi's next words made up for it.
"I was just surprised you could already make sothing like that."
His father's casual acknowledgnt ant more than any praise.
"Utakata gave you a book?"
Ren nodded.
"You're going to be busy with that for a while, but when you finish, let know. I'll get you the second volu."
Ren's eyebrows raised.
"That's only the first volu?"
Juichi nodded. "Yeah, there are three in total. The second book alone can get you to the third level."
"Third level?" Ren frowned. "There wasn't anything like that in the book."
"Of course not. The book is written by soone who was obsessed with Fuinjutsu so they wouldn't include sothing trivial like this. " Juichi explained. "Fuinjutsu users are divided into six levels. Most villages have many Level 5 Fuinjutsu masters however there are barely fifteen Level 6 Fuinjutsu masters in the entire shinobi world and five of them belong to Konoha."
Ren noticed the unmistakable pride in his father's tone, but Juichi didn't elaborate further. Instead, he glanced at the seals on the table.
"So, did you want sothing, or were you just showing off?"
Ren nodded.
"Yeah, I learned that Fuinjutsu items can only be sold through the village. I figured I'd ask you to sell them. If they like the quality, maybe they'll even give you a promotion for having a great son."
He grinned mischievously.
Juichi coughed, rolling his eyes. "Don't worry about my promotion, brat. But rest assured, I'll sell them. Give everything you've got."
He patted his chest confidently with his single arm.
Ren nodded and pulled out four more stacks of explosion tags along with nine additional storage scrolls. In total, he had given Juichi 250 explosion tags and 10 storage scrolls.
By Ren's estimation, considering the prices he saw at the shinobi market, this batch alone would be worth around 130,000 ryo.
Juichi didn't even bat an eye as he stored them away, already used to handling such things.
Ren then asked, "Can you get more materials for making seals with the money you get from selling these?"
"Don't worry about that," Juichi assured him. "Once you start officially dealing with the village, they'll provide you materials and deduct the cost from the price they buy at."
He then asked, "Do you want the money now, or should I put it in the bank?"
Ren thought about it for a mont.
Konoha had banks, just like his previous world. He was surprised when he first learned about them, but it made sense. The banks were all village-backed, used only for storage and withdrawals, with minimal interest.
With Hiruzen Sarutobi overseeing the village's finances, Ren wasn't worried about corruption unless the old man himself was in on it which was unlikely.
"Yeah, just put it in the bank," he decided. "I have enough from missions to cover any expenses for now."
Juichi nodded in approval, then stood up, stretching.
"Alright then. Get so sleep."
Both father and son headed to their rooms for the night.
As the morning sun rose over Konoha, the village slowly stirred to life. People began waking up, stepping out of their hos, and heading off to work. In the heart of the village, where the Hokage Building stood tall, shinobi moved in and out with their usual urgency, carrying out their daily duties.
At the topmost floor of the building, where the office of the Hokage was located, a man strode down the hallway. As he reached the doors leading into the office of Konoha's strongest shinobi, he slamd them open without hesitation.
