Her body felt light and agile, as if she could glide through the air. With just a small point to push off from, she could cover a hundred feet in a single step, experiencing the thrill of soaring.
Her impressive martial arts skills were truly invigorating.
Gu MingYue had completed all her tasks in less than an hour during this nightti journey, and now she was retracing her steps through the forest beneath the cliffs of the GongZhao Palace.

She looked dishevelled, pale, and had a hint of bruising under her eyes, while her expression was highly agitated as she thoroughly examined Gu MingYue from head to toe.
Gu MingYue held onto the hand that reached out from behind the iron bars, tears shimring in her eyes.
“Jie Jie1.”
Gu QingHui’s face instantly froze with shock as she forcefully pulled her scarred hand away from Gu MingYue’s grip and slowly backed away. She vehently denied what she saw before her, her voice quivering with disbelief, “No, no, you can’t be LiuGuang. LiuGuang would never act like this. Yes, you must be soone else in disguise. You were sent here by him. Where is LiuGuang? You have to set LiuGuang free!” She pointed at Gu MingYue indignantly as anger flashed within her eyes.
“The Master seems to have a liking for you. What would you give in return for the release of LiuGuang?” Gu MingYue neither confird nor denied Gu QingHui’s suspicions and calmly asked, while looking directly into Gu QingHui’s furious eyes.
“If you release my sister, I will do what he says. But if anything happens to LiuGuang, I swear I will avenge her and then end my own life.”
The logic behind her words was indeed unusual, and the act of self-harm wouldn’t change anything. Moreover, Gu MingYue questioned her ability to harm Jia Ling.
Gu MingYue had to hold back a laugh as she covered her lips. Even though Gu QingHui hadn’t noticed it herself, Gu MingYue could sense the hidden emotions in her words, emotions that Gu QingHui was unwilling to acknowledge. During her days of captivity, Gu QingHui had developed inappropriate feelings for Jia Ling.
Jia Ling’s appearance was undeniably captivating, surpassing all others in the martial world. According to the original story’s portrayal of him as cool and mysterious, he effortlessly drew the affections of various won, furthermore, these two were the designated pair in the original story.
However, regardless of how you look at it, the story’s ending belonged to the dark and lancholic genre.
“You are fond of the Sect Master.” Gu MingyYue exclaid with a look of sudden understanding, nodding as if she had uncovered a secret. In fact, she was confident in this approach when dealing with such a proud and distinguished woman.
“Nonsense! I would never be interested in that monster…” Gu QingHui vehently denied it, her tone forceful and her attitude impassioned. However, her words reminded Gu MingYue of two idioms that fit the situation perfectly: “All talk and no action” and “The bark is worse than the bite”.
“So, you dislike the Sect Master?” Gu MingYue asked, adopting a curious tone.
“Absolutely.” Gu QingHui replied with unwavering determination.
“Great! That’s wonderful!” Gu MingYue’s face lit up with a dazzling smile in an instant. She appeared extrely delighted and exuberant as she turned towards Gu QingHui, “It’s a deal, okay? Jie Jie cannot take him from .”
She began by gently patting her own healthy, rosy cheeks, then proceeded to rub her face vigorously, contorting her features with the intensity, “Jie Jie, I won’t tease you anymore. I am really LiuGuang, you know? I’m not sure why, but after arriving on this island, it felt like my mind suddenly cleared up and I began understanding many things. See, there’s no disguise at all. You can touch and feel my skin.”
Gu QingHui was quite taken aback and montarily unsure how to react. Following Gu MingYue’s words, she tentatively reached out to touch her face, ticulously exploring every inch. Surprisingly, she couldn’t detect any signs of a disguise. She applied more force, as if in disbelief, and tugged gently at Gu MingYue’s cheeks.
“Jie Jie, please stop that, it hurts.” Gu MingYue hurriedly protected her face, frowning in complaint.
“It’s actually true…” Gu QingHui stared at Gu MingYue’s face in disbelief. “Even the godly doctor had declared there was no hope, yet now you’ve recovered…” She snapped out of her shock and proceeded to ask with concern, “Why are you here, and did he imprison you too?”
“Wherever did you get that idea, Jie Jie? I wasn’t imprisoned; I ca here to rescue you!” Gu MingYue replied confidently, her words and actions radiating unwavering determination and youthful enthusiasm.
“Rescue ?” At this point, Gu QingHui felt as if her brain was being tied into knots.
