From Han Shui to Yellow Stone City, there is only one highway to take according to the old map.

Although according to Zeng Yi, there is another highway built after Chen Jian’s squad crossed, besides the G70 highway, for safety’s sake, Chen Jian decided to follow the map’s guidance and proceed along the old route.

After reorganizing their equipnt and replenishing ammunition, Chen Jian left Shen Yue and Lei Jie to stay back, taking care of the injured Li Shi, while he hurriedly led the team towards Yellow Stone City.

With the cat vehicle’s aid, the group of four advanced rapidly.

It took them less than an hour and a half to approach the Yellow Stone City district.

What Chen Jian feared most was that the Holy Blood mbers and the chanical God Sect here might have already synchronized their lockdown asures, but when he raised his binoculars to observe the settlent below, he found there was no tense atmosphere at all.

Clearly, on this continent without a unified governnt, even within the Holy Blood mbers and the chanical God Sect, the transmission of information isn’t very tily.

Moreover, the team was already racing against the clock, essentially getting ahead of the enemy.

It was already 6 a.m., the sun was rising, and its rays piercing through the clouds illuminated a settlent quite different from Han Shui City nearby.

Nurous fishing boats, fish rafts, glistening fishing nets drying on the lakeside island, and the strong fishy sll in the air all indicated that this was a settlent reliant primarily on fishing for sustenance.

Chen Jian put down the binoculars and said softly:

"He Shuo, first establish electromagnetic shielding to cut off their communication with Han Shui City."

"Zeng Yi, what’s the next step? How do we get in, how do we gather intelligence?"

"Go in directly."

Zeng Yi replied:

"The environnt of Yellow Stone City is quite special, most people live on an island in the center of Great Governance Lake, making it more isolated than other settlents. The Holy Blood Temple tried several tis but failed to establish a council hall here."

"However, they maintain closer contact with the chanical God Sect, with a squad of around 10 chanical God Sect’s Church Protection Army mbers and probably one or two high-ranking priests, who are the primary administrators of Yellow Stone City."

"We first need to figure out their positions, gain their trust, and then try to get information from them."

"Do we have to make contact with the chanical God Sect people?"

"There’s no way around them, the valuable information should be in their hands."

Hearing this, Chen Jian frowned and said:

"Then before we leave, these people cannot be left alive."

"Why?"

Zeng Yi asked in confusion:

"Once we’re gone, it wouldn’t make any difference whether they’re alive or not, right?"

"I’m not saying we can’t eliminate them, but it’s unnecessary to take this risk..."

"Leaving them is the risk."

Xie Liu interjected:

"They might reveal our plan to Han Shui City, and then we would have to face both the monster and Han Shui City, which would be too much pressure."

"Exactly."

Chen Jian nodded, then said:

"Let’s head out now, we will continue with directional blocking, your radios will be unusable, if there’s an issue, fire a warning shot, otherwise we will enter on our own in an hour."

"Understood."

Zeng Yi grabbed his 191 and slung on the long knife he’d thrown and retrieved, and headed off the highway towards Yellow Stone City with Xie Liu.

Chen Jian and He Shuo stayed at a high point, observing their movents with binoculars.

He saw the two reach the lakeshore, signaling to and greeting the fishern on the lake before boarding a fishing boat together, sailing towards the island in the lake’s center.

Upon docking, the two disappeared into the thick forest, and shortly after reappeared in an open area of the residential area.

They seed to be communicating with the city guards, pointing in Chen Jian’s and their direction across the lake. The guard nodded, leading them into a building at the city center.

A mont later, a small boat paddled from the island and docked at the lakeshore.

Chen Jian checked the ti; it had been 30 minutes since the two landed on the island.

"Let’s go, this boat is probably here to pick us up."

"Check your equipnt, get ready for disguise, we are preparing to head over."

"Understood."

He Shuo drove the cat vehicle off the highway, using drone guidance to avoid the observation from inside Yellow Stone City, eventually parking less than two hundred ters from the lakeshore.

Following that, the two followed the path Zeng Yi had taken towards the lakeshore and boarded the fishing boat waiting at the shore.

The boatman was a child who looked no older than ten, who curiously asked when he saw Chen Jian and the others:

"Are you friends of the Holy Blood?"

Chen Jian nodded and answered simply:

"Yes."

"Are you also Holy Blood mbers?"

The child continued to ask, and Chen Jian shook his head and replied:

"We are not, we are just ordinary people."

"Not priests of the chanical God Sect either?"

"No."

After saying this, Chen Jian thought the child would be disappointed.

But surprisingly, a look of relief appeared on the child’s face.

"It’s good that you’re not them, if you were..."

The child didn’t continue, and Chen Jian keenly sensed that there was more to his words, so he imdiately asked:

"If they were, what would happen?"

The child remained silent, just rowing the boat.

Chen Jian exchanged a glance with He Shuo, instinctively lowering his hand a bit, resting on the trigger of his 191.

The lake surface was silent. Although many fishing boats were skimming back and forth, no conversations could be heard, let alone any fishing songs or shouts.

Even though the sun had already risen, making the lake sparkle and appear vibrant, the atmosphere around was quite oppressing.

Without showing any emotion, Chen Jian entered the internal communication channel and typed on the tactical glasses:

"The intelligence is off."

"Based on the actual number of fishing boats, it’s impossible for there to be two thousand people here."

"The scale of this settlent is much smaller than what Zeng Yi had ntioned."

"Potentially only half the population."

"Agreed."

He Shuo responded briefly, by this ti, the child had already rowed them to shore, and upon reaching the island, Chen Jian was even more convinced of his deduction.

This so-called Yellow Stone City was entirely different from Han Shui City.

While the residential area was large, the buildings here were evidently much more dilapidated than those in Han Shui City.

He had only been on the island for a short while and had already seen several abandoned buildings.

The architectural style was no different from the surrounding ones.

Which ans these buildings were constructed after the settlent was ford, and subsequently abandoned due to a decrease in the population.

Was it because of that creature known as "Mongolia"?

It didn’t seem likely.

Chen Jian frowned, following the child into Yellow Stone City.

By then, Zeng Yi and Xie Liu, who had entered the city center building earlier, had also returned; the four successfully regrouped within the city area.

Without a change in expression, Zeng Yi nodded to Chen Jian, then led the group towards a residence on the eastern side of the residential district.

It was only upon entering that Chen Jian realized it was a makeshift "inn."

So bare-bones it only had two rooms, enough to accommodate the four of them easily.

---- On the bright side, that lowered the risk of being spied upon considerably.

After paying the room fee with bullets as hard currency, the group entered the rooms and closed the door.

Then Zeng Yi spoke:

"The intelligence is off."

"That creature might be even harder to deal with than we expected!"
