"Thinking this way makes sense----wait, that’s off topic."

"How do we open this chamber?"

"Blow it open."

Chen Jian decisively said:

"The stuff inside is no longer useful, too much ti has passed, it’s all corroded away."

"The point is to see what’s inside, it doesn’t need to be preserved intact."

"Blow open the main locking structure, the weight should bring the hatch down."

"Understood."

Lei Jie imdiately stepped forward to start placing the explosives, Chen Jian glanced at the ti and warned:

"Radiation level is at 240, we must evacuate in an hour."

"Roger that!"

Lei Jie quickly sped up his actions, and a few minutes later, all the explosives were set up.

The group retreated from the chamber, accompanied by a continuous sound of explosions, an even sharper sound of tal scraping simultaneously arose.

The door of the hexagonal pod fell heavily, the tracks connected with the chamber floor’s tracks, forming a complicated network of paths.

After the smoke cleared, Chen Jian eagerly entered the aircraft cabin, but what he saw left him montarily stunned.

"It’s not combat gear."

No tanks, no infantry fighting vehicles, no drones.

What he saw were items roughly shoved into standardized transport boxes in simple packaging.

The wooden and engineering plastic packaging were already damaged and cracked----of course, it’s possible they weren’t properly handled when packed.

The contents were exposed, and Chen Jian signaled Ji Xing to step forward and open the lid of the box. Once 300 years of dust cleared, they finally saw what was inside.

Yet at this mont, no one could imdiately identify these items.

"What are these things... tiles?"

Lei Jie picked up a piece he called a tile, gently tapping it, and said:

"Feels like so kind of tal material, the surface is polished."

"Is this bulletproof plating or so new type of armor?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Jian also picked up a piece, weighed it in his hand, then said:

"It’s not too heavy, it shouldn’t be pure tal."

"Feels like so kind of ceramic composite material----really does seem like bulletproof plating, even the width is similar."

"This should be 30x30 cm, right? If it’s bulletproof plating, why make it square?"

"That suggests it’s not plating, it might be part of modular armor."

Lei Jie put the tile down and, after searching through the box, said:

"This entire box is full of these things, each piece individually packaged, though the outer packaging is already corroded."

"Mirror-polished armor... anti-laser armor?"

"Possibly. Let’s check the next one."

Chen Jian turned to look at the second fallen transport box, Ji Xing had already pried open the lid without waiting for his instructions, but the contents inside puzzled them further.

A box full of pipes.

A box full of stainless steel, serpentine pipes without any signs of rust.

"Cooling devices."

"These should be water cooling pipes, but they’re not made of brass, rather stainless steel."

"What’s the purpose of transporting just this with such effort?"

Confused, Chen Jian tried picking up a section of the pipe, after examining it carefully he shook his head and said:

"There’s a small opening at the top, probably an outlet for high-pressure coolant or cooling gas."

"Can’t see anything special, standard cooling pipe design."

"What do you think, Lei Jie?"

"What do I think? I’m just looking at it as you are."

Lei Jie shrugged helplessly and headed straight to the third box.

Inside the third box were various connectors, including bolts and nuts, nothing unusual at all.

But after this round of inspection, they could basically determine that the aircraft was transporting parts of so sort of device.

Judging from the existing clues, it could be so type of protective device or so kind of unassembled weapon.

So the contents of the other boxes beca the key to unraveling the mystery.

Without any hesitation, Chen Jian imdiately directed Ji Xing to pry open all the remaining boxes.

Most of the items in these boxes were quite "scattered," apparently in their unassembled original state.

The group discovered more armor plates of similar size but made from evidently different materials, along with a large amount of fiber optics and splitters.

As one box after another was opened, a suspicion began to surface in both Chen Jian’s and Lei Jie’s minds.

And when the last box was opened, revealing a sealed box wrapped thickly inside, despite it not being opened yet, both of them had already found their answers.

"Open it?"

Lei Jie asked.

"Open it."

Chen Jian nodded, then reached out to twist the latch on the sealed box, opening it.

Six small glass balls neatly lined up inside the sealed box were revealed to everyone.

"This is..."

Curiously, Xie Liu looked at the glass balls inside the box and tentatively asked:

"Are these so kind of... drug?"

"No."

Chen Jian shook his head and said:

"These are target pellets."

"Target pellets? What are they?"

"Fuel for inertial confinent nuclear fusion."

Chen Jian took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled, speaking in a solemn tone:

"This aircraft is transporting a complete set of inertial nuclear fusion device!"

"No, shouldn’t say it’s a complete set."

"Here we only have the laser drive system and the target chamber, target pellet systems."

"It’s transporting the main components, including the first wall, while other energy output systems are not included."

"But even just these are shocking enough."

"The size of this setup... is it considered a small fusion reactor?"

"It’s a micro one."

Lei Jie spoke:

"If fully assembled, the entire system footprint wouldn’t exceed 100 square ters, the height should be around five to six ters."

"Compared to our fusion devices at that ti, it’s astonishingly small."

"How big was Arica’s INF device again? Dozens of ters tall?"

"No, not that tall, but dostically the Shengu II, for example, is definitely not small."

Chen Jian picked up a target pellet from the sealed box, carefully observing it before saying:

"This could still be usable, but refilling it with fuel won’t be easy..."

"Not won’t be easy, it’s simply impossible."

Lei Jie shook his head and said:

"We absolutely lack the capability to manufacture deuterium-tritium gas, and even if we could find it, the filling procedure isn’t sothing our technical level could handle."

"To be honest, recognizing this thing is already the limit of our capabilities."

"Trying to assemble and activate it...is harder than flying to the moon with my left foot stepping on my right."

As his words ended, Chen Jian also couldn’t help but let out a disappointed sigh.

But then he spoke again:

"It’s okay, at least we’ve got the clues."

"This aircraft was indeed on a mission to transport the fusion device stored at the Air Force Tenth Division Base to sowhere."

"Where do you think their destination could be?"

"Judging from the route, no doubt, it’s Jinling."

Lei Jie said without hesitation:

"After the cataclysm occurred, Jinling must have so major action."

"I always thought before, although their disaster prevention asures were comprehensive, they never felt... unified."

"It’s like every departnt was fighting its own battle, just doing their own part."

"It’s completely different from the style I’m familiar with."

"At that critical mont, how could they be so... passive?"

"They must be willing to go all out to accomplish sothing big."

"Jinling, might just be where this major task culminates."

"Yes, I think the sa."

Chen Jian checked his watch once more, then said:

"It’s about ti, let’s evacuate first!"

"We can’t take everything, bring the sealed box!"

"Got it!"

Everyone imdiately sprang into action, quickly packing up gear and exiting the aircraft cabin.

Without lingering, Chen Jian led the team away without looking back.

And as the massive transport aircraft gradually faded from view behind them, a question suddenly popped into his mind.

Could this fusion reactor be the so-called "Fu Xi" device?

No, that’s impossible.

The Fu Xi project is spearheaded by 096, they’re not into nuclear fusion.

Most likely, this is the energy source for the Fu Xi project, the Fu Xi device.

This is rely the heart of Fu Xi.

So its main body... is it in Jinling??
