Through the warehouse’s main door, Chen Jian could already see the layout inside.

Like most small nuclear weapon warehouses in the world, this one also uses a "shelf-style" layout.

At least 30 giant shelves stand in three parallel rows inside the warehouse, with tracks laid in the aisles for transport, and at the top of the warehouse, a force arm device is set up for handling and grabbing goods.

Each shelf is relatively independent. From its heavy tal structure, it seems these shelves should have functions beyond storage, perhaps even maintenance and self-sustaining functions.

However, under any conditions, self-sustaining always requires power.

But now, the entire nuclear arsenal’s power system has collapsed, and these shelves have lost their original function.

At least, their corrosion resistance is very strong, and the sealing shouldn’t be much affected.

Theoretically, as long as the enrichnt decay is within a controllable range, most of these tactical nuclear bombs should still be usable.

This is a truly unprecedented treasure.

Chen Jian had never thought he could find sothing like this inside the Anqing Ruins.

----After all, although he did know about this base, he always subconsciously believed that the weapons stored here were not for him to salvage.

But now, it seems.....this salvage opportunity indeed exists, and it’s not small.

He could hardly wait, eager to rush into the warehouse and pull out all the nuclear weapons imdiately.

But Ji Xing’s words made him stop abruptly in his tracks.

"The ghost is inside"?

How the hell does this look like there’s any "ghost"?

Chen Jian frowned and looked at Ji Xing, then asked:

"Are you sure? What’s inside? What makes you feel different?"

After speaking, this ti Ji Xing responded affirmatively.

"The scent!"

"I’m sure there’s a scent in there similar to Mountain City’s, very faint, but definitely there!"

"What kind of scent?"

Chen Jian raised his hand to signal the rest who were eager to move to stand by, then continued to ask:

"Is it a scent you’re familiar with? Have you slled it anywhere other than in Mountain City?"

"Only in Mountain City! I can guarantee it, only there!"

That makes it sothing unique.

Chen Jian didn’t know what the Mountain City scent was like, but if you think about it from another angle...

What in a nuclear weapon warehouse is unique?

He turned to Lei Jie, Shen Yue, and others, asking:

"Is there sothing in the nuclear weapon warehouse that’s not found elsewhere?"

"...Nuclear weapons."

Shen Yue answered in all seriousness.

"...Can you tell sothing I don’t know?"

Chen Jian glared at him, the latter shrugged innocently and continued to explain:

"That’s the truth. Other than the nuclear weapons themselves, I really can’t think of anything significantly different from other warehouses or places."

"Of course, our thinking shouldn’t be confined to the nuclear weapons themselves. Related factors should also be considered."

"For example, the lead cabinets used for storing nuclear weapons...these things don’t seem simple, they might be filled with so inert gas, which could create a different scent?"

"How is that possible?"

Chen Jian shook his head in disagreent:

"Do you think inert gas is dangerous? Look at her reaction, does she seem like she’s joking?"

"Perhaps it’s a post-traumatic response."

Shen Yue thought for a mont, put away his joking deanor, then said seriously:

"The so-called scent isn’t the point, the key is Mountain City."

"Her experience there has deeply ingrained into her subconscious, so as long as she’s exposed to familiar elents again, it will imdiately trigger an emotional response."

"She’s not afraid of the scent, she’s afraid of Mountain City itself."

"So I an, this scent might not be that special, nor that mysterious..."

"Good thinking."

Chen Jian nodded slightly, but then continued:

"But that doesn’t explain why Ji Xing says this scent is unique - it has to have a source."

"Then the only answer will be after we search the warehouse."

Shen Yue looked towards the warehouse door ahead, Chen Jian remained silent for a few seconds, finally saying:

"Whatever the case, we’re here already."

"Lei Jie, Zeng Yi, co with inside, try to open the lead cabinets."

"Since Ji Xing says the anomaly’s source is ’the scent’, we’ll start with the scent."

"If the scent intensifies after opening the lead cabinets, it ans the scent is related to the nuclear weapons."

"If not, then it’s related to the warehouse facilities."

"If we empty this place and examine it step-by-step, we’ll eventually find the real source of the scent."

"Understood!"

At the command, without any hesitation, they imdiately stepped toward the inside of the warehouse.

Ji Xing wanted to stop them, but then felt she might indeed be overreacting.

Looking at the warehouse, it hardly seed dangerous; her intuition was nothing more than unfounded "panic."

Not just Shen Yue, even she herself started to doubt whether she was just being superstitious.

So in the end, she didn’t stop Chen Jian and the others, but stood quietly aside, prepared to react.

If any danger arises, she could imdiately rush into the warehouse to support Chen Jian and his group.

----Last ti, she ran, but this ti, she didn’t plan to run.

It’s not that she’s suddenly beco enlightened, sacrificing herself for others, but she feels this is the closest she’s ever been to the Mountain City secret, and no matter how it turns out, she doesn’t want to give up...
