Chapter 216: Written Exam, College Entrance Exam

June 7th, morning.

Argent Apex Immortal Alliance’s headquarters ushered in the largest gathering. Ten Immortal Institutes and ten thousand candidates all stood at the gates. These people were this year’s disciples picked from all around the Divine Province, the best of the best.

Among the millions of seekers of immortality, these ten thousand stood at the top.

On this proud day for this generation, the air was filled with severity.

They were about to take their first trial on their path to immortality. In a harsh sense, it was their hardest—the Immortal Alliance’s admission trial of these youths into its sects!

Wang Qi walked forward with a chuckle. The view reminded him of his past college entrance exam.

He pressed an arm on the sulking Wu Fan, yawning. “Kid, why the sa attitude you had six months ago at the monthly examination? You should’ve built so resistance after so long.”

Wu Fan stamred. “W-Wang Qi, of course you wouldn’t care. Wait, the trial should be way more defining to you than it is to anyone else!”

Wang Qi brushed it aside, “A bookworm faces all trials with a casual flair.”

“A fail ans you’re screwed! Even if you’re looking to showcase your talent, you should at least be a little bit nervous.” Wu Fan pointed at Wu Shiqin not far away. “Look, she’s only a bit different than you.”

Wu Shiqin followed his finger to see Wu Shiqin guarding the periter of the Immortal Alliance headquarters, with excitent in her eyes.

[Seriously? Had her battle fanatic side co loose again?]

Wang Qi shook his head and looked around. Further away, he spotted the silly cat, Mao Zimiao, like he expected, cramming in every bit of info she could despite the late hour.

As for the other freshn around, they had bloodshot eyes, looking either fired up or down in the dumps, either from late-night cramming or being too tense to sleep.

Wang Qi sighed. “I just don’t get you all. What’s the fuss about so simple trial?”

An exam was all about solving problems.

While the admission trial, of course, had things already taught over the past year.

“You should all do so tough problems.”

Ai Changyuan had his eyes closed. He used the apple’s energy once more to lighten the gravity’s effect on him and let the higher air density lift him two feet off the ground, where he could enjoy a long and nice nap. Then there was Lu Qianqian, who kept staring at him from the side.

[Changyuan sure knows how to put people at ease.]

In a corner, Bernoulli Xiaoya practiced breathing to cool down.

In terms of theoretical level, she was on par with Ai Changyuan. She didn’t put much thought into the written examination. But yesterday’s events changed her mind.

[You insulted the Bernoulli family.]

[I am a Bernoulli, a descendant of eleven Unfettereds and countless Eminence…]

[I will personally pay you back for this insult!]

Further away, Fa Xiong, Sun Sheng, and talents from other Immortal Institutes used their own thods to prepare for this montous occasion of their lives. ??????????????

As the bell atop Argent Apex rang nine tis, a glorious light spread from the headquarters. In a place no disciple could see, the All-immortal Mirror was alight. All freshn with an immortal tag on them were pulled into an illusion.

Watching the ink world, Wang Qi facepald, feeling woozy. “Can’t those Immortal Alliance artists go along with a 3D background that actually follows the rules of perspective? This thing looks nice on paper, but once rendered in three dinsions, it breaks the laws of optics and makes us woozy instead.”

“Starting off with the Celestial Changes Series’ celestial changes problem to test the foundations is enough already.”

Wang Qi’s previous monthly examinations were partial towards math, as was this one. Everyone’s subject was different, but All-immortal Mirror’s computational power was more than enough to compute everyone’s individual answer. Immortal Alliance’s answer bank for each topic was beyond accurate. Hence the use of the sa topic in every trial.

“Among the following four types of motion, which one has constant acceleration:

Pendulum motion;Circular motion;Projectile motion;Uniform circular motion.

The first question’s a giveaway, as usual.”

Ai Changyuan ticked off an answer without hesitation, then moved on to the next question.

“When celestial light enters a dium from a vacuum at an incident angle of fifty-eight degrees and the reflected light becos linearly polarized, what is the refractive index of this substance? This kind of question isn’t that hard!” Still struggling, Hu Jianhao gritted his teeth as he worked through the problem. “Ai Changyuan, Wang Qi, Bernoulli Xiaoya—I won’t lose to any of you!”

Many different scenes were unfolding within the illusion. So cried, so laughed. Not much different from pandemonium.

It was a miniature Dao-seeking path at its finest. Countless people threaded this broad and endless path, but not all at the sa pace. As ti went on, they began to lose touch with the tis, fall behind, and even end up like those ancient cultivators they so despised.

As for the majority of Dao seekers, they were there to patch up the path, making it smoother and prettier so that others may tread it lighter and quicker.

Those that cut through the wilderness at the very forefront were very few.

Six hours later, Fa Xiong was the first to co out, becoming the first to hand over his paper in this year’s trial. Looking around, he sneered, walking towards Argent Apex’s city to drink with confidence.

Eight hours later, people ca out in droves, most looking annoyed and regretting not studying more.

Ten hours later, Wu Shiqin, Wang Qi, Ai Changyuan, Bernoulli Xiaoya, and many top students ca out.

Bernoulli Xiaoya and Wang Qi walked out at the sa ti. The first thing Wang Qi did was to take out a book, reading and walking before everyone’s eyes.

Mao Zimiao had co out earlier. She rushed over to ask, “Little Qi, what’s wrong? Reading the mont you finished, nya? Tomorrow’s the martial examination. You should gather your thoughts and rest.”

“It’s fine. It’s been a month since I’ve had to use pure math. I believe resting the body is more important.”

At his answer, Bernoulli Xiaoya went to Bernoulli Xiaofeng, “Brother, let’s go spar.”
