Chapter 40: The Black Market

Hearing Yang Hong's words, Xu Zhengyang pondered thoughtfully.

"Looks like the competition at the Sunset Cloud Blessed Land will be especially fierce this ti..."

"Hehe..."

Yang Hong chuckled, then raised an eyebrow at Xu Zhengyang and said proudly, "Senior Brother Xu, don't focus only on that madwoman and forget about ! Three days apart, one should regard each other with new eyes. I’ve been in seclusion these past days. I’ve also cultivated a notably fine new martial technique, just waiting to show it off in Sunset Cloud Blessed Land!"

"Oh?"

Xu Zhengyang smiled and said, "If that's the case, we'll compete once more inside Sunset Cloud Blessed Land!"

"Ha ha ha ha, great!"

Yang Hong agreed, laughing heartily as he departed on his paper crane talisman.

……

The next day.

Xu Zhengyang was busy in the lab testing spiritual material performance paraters, planning to head to the Celestial Treasure Pavilion a bit later.

Yang Hong, however, ca early to Shuying Pavilion to find him, "Senior Brother Xu, let’s go to the Celestial Treasure Pavilion together!"

Testing the traits of spiritual materials was a major project that couldn't be completed in just a day.

So Xu Zhengyang wasn’t in a hurry; he set aside his work and accompanied Yang Hong to the Celestial Treasure Pavilion.

After leaving the sect gate.

Xu Zhengyang noticed that the airspace near the Yunxiu Mountains was densely crowded with cultivators.

Each was using techniques, all racing toward the direction of the Celestial Treasure Pavilion.

"So lively," Xu Zhengyang remarked appreciatively.

"Of course!"

Yang Hong introduced to Xu Zhengyang, "The Celestial Treasure Pavilion isn't always open to outsiders!

Additionally..."

At this, Yang Hong deliberately lowered his voice, brought his paper crane talisman close to Xu Zhengyang, then whispered mysteriously, "When the Celestial Treasure Pavilion opens, besides the public direct-sale shop and the precious item auction, there is also a little-known Black Market!"

"Black Market?"

Xu Zhengyang, intrigued, asked, "What’s special about this Black Market?"

Yang Hong, not sure where he’d heard it, saw that Xu Zhengyang didn’t know, and with a proud, showing-off look explained, "As cultivators, who hasn’t carried a few lost souls on the path of cultivation? Because of this, it’s perfectly normal for a cultivator to have a few dubious, hard-to-sell treasures on their person! And the Black Market in the Celestial Treasure Pavilion is specially set up for cultivators to sell ill-gotten items! As far as I know, the Black Market at the Celestial Treasure Pavilion has triple prohibitions: forbidden arts, forbidden flight, forbidden divine sense! Inside the Black Market, as long as you wear a cloak, even a Tier‑2 cultivator can’t be identified by divine sense. It lets you trade boldly with peace of mind! Because of this, the Black Market’s business is far more booming than the public direct-sale shop and the precious item auction!"

"Is that so?"

Xu Zhengyang beca interested and said, “That’s worth a look…”

“Together, together!”

Yang Hong said, showing a “just as I thought” smile, “I told you, Senior Brother Xu, you’d be interested too!”

The Celestial Treasure Pavilion lived up to its na “Celestial.”

From a hundred miles away, Xu Zhengyang and Yang Hong saw a giant circular flying vessel glowing with golden light, hovering in the ninth heaven!

Xu Zhengyang estimated its size using nearby landmarks.

Such a colossal object:

its inner diater was at least five hundred zhang, and its outer diater reached eight hundred zhang, like a floating mobile city in the sky!

Even Xu Zhengyang, having lived two lives, had never seen such an extraordinary creation, and looked up in amazent, “Magnificent…”

Yang Hong also wanted to say sothing when he saw the Celestial Treasure Pavilion, but struggled for a mont and couldn’t think of any words.

He could only echo Xu Zhengyang, “Indeed.”

The Celestial Treasure Pavilion had thirty‑six entrances.

Xu Zhengyang and Yang Hong casually chose the nearest one and flew over on their paper‑crane talismans.

As soon as they approached the entrance, two armored, silver‑spear‑wielding body cultivators blocked their way with threatening posture, saying, “Seats inside the Celestial Treasure Pavilion are limited. Entrance fee is five lower‑grade spirit stones per person!”

“As should be.”

Xu Zhengyang said, glancing down at the sea of cultivators gathered below the Pavilion, looking like swarming ants.

He realized setting a threshold was quite necessary.

As he spoke, Xu Zhengyang took ten lower‑grade spirit stones from his Jade Gourd and handed them to the armored cultivator at the entrance, “For the two of us.”

“Please!”

The armored cultivator pocketed the spirit stones, stepped aside to let them in, and reminded them, “Anyone who enters the Pavilion later will be treated as a new guest.”

“Understood.”

Xu Zhengyang nodded and entered the Celestial Treasure Pavilion along with Yang Hong.

As soon as they stepped inside, a few wafts of fragrant breeze greeted them, and six or seven scantily clad young won surrounded them.

In unison they exclaid, “Welco esteed guests to the Treasure Pavilion!”

While speaking, one of the won with a more mature aura approached and handed Xu Zhengyang and Yang Hong each a jade slip.

Then she explained sweetly, “This jade slip briefly records the internal layout of the Celestial Treasure Pavilion. Areas marked in green shading are open regions, where guests may co and go freely. The rest are restricted zones. Please do not enter them, to avoid causing trouble.”

Xu Zhengyang accepted the jade slip and said, “Thank you for informing .”

“You flatter , honored guest—it’s our duty.”

The young woman covered her mouth lightly as she smiled.

Then she naturally looped her arm through Xu Zhengyang’s elbow and turned to him, “Whenever guests ascend the Celestial Treasure Pavilion, each may appoint a maid to accompany and serve them. I am Su Mo. I would be honored to guide and ease your journey. Please don’t mind .”

At the end, Su Mo’s eyes glistened as she looked at Xu Zhengyang with a sweet, pleading expression.

Xu Zhengyang wore a magic robe and carried a Jade of Tranquil Mind and a Jade Gourd at his waist;

Yang Hong was dressed more simply, but the Seven‑Star Technique‑Breaking Sword on his back clearly was no ordinary weapon.

Su Mo was perceptive and instantly recognized that the two were direct disciples of a major sect.

So she did not hesitate to attach herself to the more handso and composed Xu Zhengyang.

“Then I will leave it to you, Miss Su,” Xu Zhengyang said casually.

No sooner had he finished speaking

than the other young won guarding the entrance, seeing that Xu Zhengyang had been claid, turned to Yang Hong and surrounded him, fluttering their eyelashes flirtatiously.

Yang Hong, being a body cultivator with strong vitality, and having been strictly disciplined by Chen Qiang, had never seen such a scene before.

For a mont,

Yang Hong was at a loss, his face reddening, not knowing what to do, and could only look at Xu Zhengyang for help.

Xu Zhengyang secretly chuckled and then said to Su Mo, “These girls range from plump to slender, each has their own charm. My junior brother is overwheld. Miss Su, please help him choose.”
