"I’ve already told you everything I know. Elena, as your aunt, can you please let go?" Mrs. Smith pleaded pitifully, hoping to gain even a sliver of sympathy.

Elena rolled her eyes. It was far too late for this woman to play the ’aunt’ card.

And even after admitting her part in her parents’ deaths, she still had the nerve to beg.

’How dare you?’ she sneered inwardly.

Ignoring her cries and desperate tone, she turned to Jetro and gave a cold command.

"Go drag out my uncle—he’s probably still snoring in his room. It’s ti for a family reunion, isn’t it, Aunt?"

Mrs. Smith, drained from her tears, stared silently at Elena with hollow eyes. She felt utterly lost, unable to comprehend how cruel Elena had beco.

anwhile, Jetro still couldn’t grasp the depth of hatred Elena held toward her relatives, but he obeyed without hesitation.

Their contract required it—no questions asked.

In this harsh, dog-eat-dog world, who was he to judge what was right or wrong?

’They must have done sothing unforgivable for Elena to want them dead,’ he thought.

He then moved through the rooms, kicking open doors one by one in search of Uncle William.

Soon after, Jetro found a man wrapped in thick clothing, snoring loudly like a pig.

Without hesitation, he grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out of the room.

The sudden movent jolted Uncle William awake as he was shoved into the living room.

"Who dragged here?!" he barked, full of anger as he struggled to see through his sleepy haze.

But the mont he took in the sight in front of him, he nearly collapsed.

Blood was splattered across the floor, and his wife was slumped on the ground, her face swollen and pale from injuries.

"What... what happened here? Why are you hurt?" he asked, his voice trembling as he looked around the room with growing fear.

Then, his eyes landed on three figures standing in the dim corner.

His heart dropped. He gasped, completely consud by fear.

"Who are you?!"

"Uncle, it’s good to see you again," Elena replied with a warm smile—but her eyes quickly turned cold as she raised her whip and struck him, again and again.

Uncle William was stunned by the force of the blows. In no ti, his body was covered in welts, suffering the sa painful fate as his wife.

Agony surged through him as he cried out, "Why are you doing this?! Is it because we interrupted your al earlier? Why are you being so petty?!"

"Stop this madness, niece!"

But Elena ignored his pleas.

She continued whipping him, pushing him to the edge of consciousness, until he was hanging between life and death.

Ethan then stepped in, taking the whip from her hand and beginning the next phase—interrogation.

"Tell everything you know about my wife’s parents," he said coldly.

At first, he denied any involvent—but under Ethan’s relentless torture, he eventually gave in and confessed what had really happened.

"Stop! I’ll talk! There was a man... he had the sa green eyes as you, niece," he gasped, glancing at Elena as pain wracked his body.

He revealed that there were two different groups trying to dig into her mother’s background.

The first group had been polite. They even arranged a eting to discuss her mother’s identity.

But the second group was different.

They wanted her mother dead—and they contacted him to help with the plan.

Driven by jealousy toward his brother and greedy for the company, Uncle William agreed.

The thought of taking everything for himself thrilled him. So, he gave the assassins the exact schedule of her parents.

After that, the group made their move and carried out the car accident.

As for the man’s appearance, it was blurry in his mory. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t recall any clear details.

Elena listened closely, her heart boiling with anger as she realized that her uncle had helped plot her parents’ death.

"If Grandpa knew what you did to his son, he would’ve punished you himself. You were just an orphan Grandma adopted out of pity. That alone should’ve made you grateful," she said coldly, her voice thick with killing intent.

"But instead, you plotted against them—and ended up killing them."

A murderous aura rose around her, making Ethan tense up. He quickly reached out and held her hands to calm her down.

Actuatlly, Elena didn’t have many mories of her parents—they had died when she was still very young.

But knowing now that they had been taken from her by force made her heart burn with anger.

Even though she had been raised well by her grandfather, the absence of her parents had left a deep void within her in her past life.

Hearing this, Uncle William was shocked that Elena knew the truth. He then stared at her in disbelief.

Only a handful of people knew about his background, and those secrets were supposed to be buried with his adoptive parents died.

"I... How did you know?" he stamred.

But Elena ignored his question and asked coldly, "Where is Vivian?"

"What are you going to do?"

"The sa thing you did to my parents—an eye for an eye."

"No, leave your cousin alone. She’s innocent!"

Elena let out a sharp laugh. "Innocent? Ah, of course, she’s innocent in your eyes. But let’s be real—your daughter’s attitude is just like yours, Uncle William—shaless beyond saving."

Vivian had done a lot of dirty things, both in Elena’s past life and this present one.

One of the worst was when she plotted to kill Lydia back in City B—driven by jealousy just because Marc had shown interest in Lydia.

She had nearly succeeded in killing her, but changed her mind at the last mont and sold her to a gang—to make her suffer even more.

Luckily, Lydia was clever enough to escape before anything worse could happen.

’She’s innocent? Tsk. Don’t make laugh,’ she thought.

The Smith couple cried and begged her not to hurt their daughter.

But Elena was done listening.

Rage burned in her heart as she whipped them again and again—dragging them to the brink of death.

In their panic, they finally confessed.

They didn’t know where Vivian was. All her client etings had been kept secret.

"You even sold your own daughter? What amazing parents," she sneered.

After that, she stepped back and left the rest to Ethan.

The Smith couple died in pain, spitting curses and shouting that they would be sent to hell.

Elena scoffed. "Isn’t this world already hell? I doubt there’s worse than this."

After disposing of the bodies through the window, Elena chose to leave without waiting for Vivian.

She felt as if the heavens were interfering now, refusing to let her return ho just yet.

However, she was certain their paths would cross again—so for now, she would let Vivian suffer a fate worse than death.

’With no one left to help you now, Vivian... let’s see how you survive.’

They then vanished from the unit, leaving behind the blood-splattered floor and its pungent, tallic scent.

Inside the space, Ethan gently embraced her from behind, silently comforting her over the truth behind her parents’ deaths.

"Don’t worry; it’s been decades since they passed. I’ve already found peace with it. The other culprits are gone anyway. My only regret is never having the chance to know them," she said with a soft smile, caressing her baby bump.

She silently vowed to live better—for the sake of guiding her child through stages of its life.

She continued, "What we really need to focus on now is finding the man with green eyes."

"Indeed. For now, we need to stay alert for him," Ethan agreed, already planning to take revenge on his wife’s parents’ behalf.

He believed the group behind their deaths wasn’t ordinary—and that they were still out there, alive sowhere.

"Okay, husband. Let’s get so rest. It’s already past 11 PM."

Ethan nodded, and the two of them headed ho to freshen up before going to bed.

Days passed, and Ethan and Elena kept busy helping harvest fruits and vegetables in the farm sector alongside with the kids.

But later that afternoon, they received news that Abbott and General Kaiser had finally returned and wished to et with the owner of Paradise to discuss taking so supplies, as previously negotiated.

"General Kaiser said it’s best to et in the late afternoon. They have sothing important to say," Oslo reported.

They had reached out earlier at the shop, politely requesting a eting.

"Alright, accept their request," Elena replied.

Oslo nodded and exited the space, reappearing in the shop to inform General Kaiser’s n about the scheduled eting.

anwhile, Elena and Ethan put on masks as a disguise and headed downstairs to et them.

Soon after, the discussion began.

During the eting, the group talked about the growing threat of mutated beasts.

The military also invited the Paradise Shop staff to attend a formal eting with the governnt tomorrow at noon.

"So, it’s finally ti to deal with that mutated cat?" Elena asked.

"Yes. As long as we finalize the plan tomorrow, we can proceed two days from now," General Kaiser replied.

"Alright. We’ll be there," Ethan confird.
