Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies Chapter 150: Targeted again
"Alright, let’s move now," the leader commanded as night fell, perfect ti for raiding.
"Boss, do we really have to wear these thick clothes? They’re getting in the way," one mber complained, tugging at the old fabric.
"Idiot! If you want to freeze to death, then go ahead and don’t wear warm clothes," the leader sneered at his subordinate’s foolish idea.
"Boss, I was just making a suggestion. No need to get angry."
"Shut up. Stop talking and do your job," the leader said with annoyance as he glanced at the remaining mbers after his capable subordinates had gone missing..
Afterward, they ascended the stairs, ready to strike.
Upon reaching the 26th floor, they encountered a sturdy iron gate.
They quickly assessed the situation, contemplating whether they could force it open.
Noticing their intentions, the old woman swiftly inford them that it was an electric gate and urged them to proceed cautiously and find a way to disable it.
"Why didn’t you tell us earlier? You’re wasting our ti!"
"I... I forgot," the old woman replied, feeling embarrassed.
"Stupid old woman," the leader said with disdain.
"Let’s go back. We don’t have the proper equipnt, and we might get electrocuted if we try to open this electric gate," he added, preparing to return to the unit to strategize.
"But boss, we’re already here. It would be a sha to just turn away. If they have electricity, they might be living well," another mber said, disagreeing with his leader’s decision to leave.
Upon hearing this, the leader hesitated, realizing his subordinate had a valid point.
However, that damn electric gate was still too difficult to handle.
"Then give a good solution," he challenged.
The mber who made the suggestion was stunned; he had no solution.
But then another mber exclaid that he had discovered the gate wasn’t powered by electricity.
"Boss, I think the gate is just normal. We can use force to open it."
Everyone who heard him crowded around the gate and ultimately concluded that his statent was true.
"It is indeed true," another mber confird, touching the gate.
The leader glared at the old woman, finding her presence increasingly annoying. If she hadn’t spoken up, they might have already taken action.
The old woman remained silent. Her good intentions were t with disdain.
She was furious inside, but swallowed her anger as she still needed them for her revenge.
Soon, they began to drill into the wall, finding it much easier than cutting through the sturdy iron gate itself.

anwhile, Ethan sat on the sofa, waiting for his wife to return while watching the kids enjoy the cartoons on the tablet.
With nothing to do, so started cooking food to store for later in space, while others cleaned Grandpa Caldwell’s unit. They all seed sowhat down; without Elena, everything felt incomplete.
Ethan could also feel the tense atmosphere; they were worried about Elena’s situation.
He sighed.
Six hours had passed since Elena upgraded the Golden Tablet, and there was still no news about his wife.
In addition, he heard a strange noise in the area, as if soone were drilling into the wall.
Listening to the sound, he wondered who would take such a risk in this cold weather.
"Did you hear sothing?" Ethan asked, raising his brows in curiosity.
Everyone then tried to sharpen their hearing, which had been enhanced by prolonged drinking of well water.
"I don’t hear anything else," Uncle Anthony said, trying to understand what Ethan had picked up on.
"Maybe it’s just the snowstorm outside?" he suggested.
Grandma and Grandpa Ford nodded in agreent, and a mont later, Grandpa Caldwell joined.
However, Oslo and Xander perceived sothing different.
"I think I heard a drilling sound," Oslo remarked.
"Indeed. Is soone renovating their unit?" Xander added.
"In this kind of weather? Plus, do the residents even have the energy for that?" Uncle Anthony questioned.
Everyone was curious, and soon Ethan suggested they check outside to investigate.
"Did you turn on the electric gate?" he asked.
"No, we have to turn off the electricity. The tal gate could freeze in this snowstorm, and we might get electrocuted if it touches the frozen ground," Xander inford them.
Ethan quickly stood up, assessing the situation.
"Let’s investigate. Soone might have set their sights on us."
"Do these residents still dare to do that after witnessing how we dealt with those who tried to rob us?" Lydia asked.
"Maybe they’re not from here," Ethan speculated.
Afterward, Ethan and Oslo quietly made their way downstairs to investigate.
As they approached, the drilling noise grew louder, confirming their fears that soone was indeed trying to rob them.
Ethan signaled to Oslo to find a good hiding spot and gather information about the robbers.
"Boss, what kind of wall is this? It’s as sturdy as the tal gate," one robber complained.
"Stop complaining and get to work so we can finish this," the leader reprimanded them.
The robbers took turns using their drilling devices, attempting to cut through the wall and remove the sturdy gate.
While the others were drilling, the remaining mbers investigated the surroundings.
"The floors are so quiet and eerie. With our loud drilling, it would be impossible for them not to notice," one of them remarked.
"Could sothing have happened to them? Heh, they might be frozen to death."
If sothing truly happened, their task would be easy; they wouldn’t need to fight but could simply eliminate those who remained on the floor.
"Stop talking. It’s freezing now; let’s finish this as soon as possible," the leader called out, his teeth chattering from the extre cold.
He wondered how his subordinates were able to withstand the cold.
Unbeknownst to him, they were also shaking, but the prospect of the reward once they completed the job pushed them to endure.
After overhearing their conversation, Ethan and Oslo quickly retreated to discuss their plan for retaliation.
With no available space to assist them, they had to revert to their routine as police officers.
This could actually be beneficial, as it ant they wouldn’t have to rely too heavily on external help.
Thankfully, the [Inventory] skill was available, so they had access to the guns stored inside
