Perhaps feeling inspired, Chen Pingchuan let out a great shout as he swung his blade. The burly man opposite him hurriedly sidestepped to dodge, but the blade's energy still grazed his body, leaving a long gash on his clothes.

At that mont, the other powerful fighter seized the opportunity to launch a sneak attack from behind. He leaped high into the air, fists clenched, and smashed down toward Chen Pingchuan's back with crushing force.

"Kid, prepare to die!"

Chen Pingchuan seed to have anticipated this. Just as his opponent's fists were about to land, he suddenly lunged forward before flipping over and thrusting his long blade out once more. The attacker couldn't dodge in ti, and the long blade slashed his arm, causing blood to gush out instantly.

The injured fighter's face twisted, but ignoring the wound, he charged Chen Pingchuan again alongside his companion. Their coordination grew increasingly tight, and for a mont, Chen Pingchuan, having lost his skill advantage, was caught in a bitter struggle.

The white-haired old man watching from the sidelines frowned deeply. He hadn't expected Chen Pingchuan to be so tenacious, holding his ground even when besieged by two seventh-level fighters. He grew anxious, fearing that if these two were also defeated, a major problem would arise today.

The Divine Spirit wasn't lying to . These rapidly created fighters truly have flaws. The difference isn't apparent when they're slaughtering lower-level opponents, but against this mysterious and powerful young man, they are clearly outmatched.

Great Divine Spirit, when will you awaken? When will you restore your forr greatness? I'm afraid I won't live to see that day.

Compared to the beleaguered Chen Pingchuan, Lilia and the others were faring much worse. These shadow guards were even more terrifying than the shadow creatures from before. Facing the monsters' assault, they could only barely hold on. Judging by the situation, they wouldn't last much longer. If they hadn't seen Chen Pingchuan swiftly deal with two powerful masters, their hopes of survival would have been slim.

Chen Pingchuan was not completely unaware of their plight, but it was difficult for him to spare any attention. A duel between experts allowed for no distractions unless one held an absolute advantage.

Suddenly, Chen Pingchuan noticed a very brief gap as the two attackers transitioned their assaults. He seized the opportunity, exchanging injury for injury. His opponent's hand forcefully grabbed his left arm, leaving a gash so deep the bone was visible, and it went completely limp.

Of course, the results were remarkable.

"Ah!"

One of the enemies let out a miserable scream and collapsed to the ground, an energy blade embedded in his chest. Clutched in the man's iron-like hand was a large, bloody piece of flesh he had just torn from Chen Pingchuan's arm.

Seeing both of Chen Pingchuan's arms rendered useless, the remaining fighter smirked. He prepared to strike again and finish his enemy off for good. In the next second, however, he witnessed an unbelievable scene.

Chen Pingchuan's body began to restore itself at a terrifying speed, visible to the naked eye. The broken bones CRACKLED as they rapidly snapped back into place. Torn muscles squird like living things, healing completely in the blink of an eye. His once-limp left arm regained its strength and swung once more.

Seeing this, the remaining fighter's eyes flashed with terror, but it was quickly replaced by savagery. With a roar, he charged at Chen Pingchuan recklessly. His fists hamred through the air like teors, leaving a trail of sonic booms.

A cold smile touched Chen Pingchuan's lips. Instead of retreating, he advanced, charging toward the incoming attacks. At the brink of contact, his form flickered as he skillfully dodged the frontal assault. At the sa ti, he twisted his long blade, stabbing at a tricky angle toward his opponent's waist.

The fighter sensed the danger and tried to sidestep, only to find Chen Pingchuan's attack stuck to him like a shadow, giving him no ti to breathe.

"Die!"

SQUELCH. The long blade plunged deep into the man's waist, and blood stread down the blade.

The fighter howled in pain, his hands clawing frantically at Chen Pingchuan. Unfazed, Chen Pingchuan yanked the blade out, spun to evade the counterattack, and followed up with another chop that severed his opponent's arm, which fell to the ground. The fighter went pale and stumbled back several steps, his eyes filled with terror and defiance.

He knew he couldn't escape his fate today, but he was still unwilling to accept it. Suddenly, his gaze beca resolute. A wild aura erupted from his body as he decided to self-destruct and take Chen Pingchuan down with him.

Chen Pingchuan's brow furrowed as he sensed the dangerous aura. He imdiately exerted all his strength, retreating at extre speed.

Just as he cleared the danger zone, a massive BOOM resounded. The fighter exploded. The powerful shockwave of energy kicked up a fierce wind, sending the nearby white-haired old man flying. Chen Pingchuan, however, was unaffected by the blast. He quickly turned and rushed to support Lilia and the others.

By now, his followers were in dire straits. Both Porcupine and Great Fierce Bear had not held out long enough for his support to arrive.

"Sleight of Hand!"

A series of powerful strikes instantly eradicated the shadow creatures closest to him. Just as Chen Pingchuan was about to finish off the rest of the monsters, they suddenly vanished.

Not only that, but the previously grim-faced white-haired old man now wore a delighted smile. He gazed at Chen Pingchuan, murderous intent bubbling within him. He suppressed the urge to act and instead taunted him.

"Boy, your doom has arrived! The Divine Spirit has awakened!"

"If you're not afraid to die, then co!"

With that, the white-haired old man turned and walked away, disappearing at the end of the passage.

「Ten minutes later.」

The group had gradually recovered so of their strength. Chen Pingchuan looked at Porcupine and Great Fierce Bear, their faces already a deathly purplish-black, and he didn't know what to feel.

In the last simulation, these two n died, and it's happened again this ti. Would they have faced the sa fate if they hadn't followed ? I don't know. Thinking about the scenes from the novels he had read, where all the side characters following the protagonist must endure great suffering, I'm suddenly not sure if I should continue leading them in the real world.

Chen Pingchuan's gaze swept over the group, noticing the fear on the faces of Lilia, Wei Hao, and Lu Jiaojiao. He suddenly said, "You all should retreat first! I can handle what's next by myself."

Hearing this, Wei Hao thought Chen Pingchuan was testing him and hurriedly declared his loyalty. "Boss, don't say that! I'm your man, in life and in death. I will never abandon you. I would die with no regrets."

Wei Hao's expression was extrely solemn, moving both Lilia and Lu Jiaojiao. Although their hearts scread for them to run, they couldn't be sure they wouldn't be attacked if they left Chen Pingchuan. Without their boss, facing those shadow creatures would be a death sentence.
