A sudden, dense burst of gunfire erupted, like a torrential downpour crashing against sheet tal. The sound was sharp and deafening. The truck’s windshield shattered instantly, and bullets kicked up clouds of dust from the ground.
Chen Pingchuan felt the ferocity of their firepower. Are they insane? he thought. Even though I can use my high Constitution to dissipate the kinetic energy from one or two bullets, what about hundreds of them? Damn, I can’t even imagine... Even if my skin could withstand the impacts, my internal organs would be shattered by the intense vibrations. I’d be severely crippled, if not dead.
Thinking of this, Chen Pingchuan decided to temporarily avoid the brunt of their attack. Besides, he was curious about the attributes he had gained recently. The physical changes had been simply astonishing.
While it was only the four stats of Strength, Agility, Constitution, and Spirit that were nurically improving, the effect on his body was far more complex than just being a stat monster. Chen Pingchuan had experienced a qualitative leap in his reaction speed and physical strength. He had even developed many unique abilities derived from these enhancents, like dynamic bullet tracking, superior control over his body, and a much sharper intuition.
It’s kind of like bullet ti, he summarized to himself. He then parted his lips and commanded, "Display attribute panel!"

Thirty-eight tis the strength of an ordinary person... what the hell does that even an? And based on my current stats, what level of Genetic Warrior am I, anyway?
In this pseudo-cyberpunk world, most people who underwent genetic enhancent didn’t have abilities as balanced and comprehensive as Chen Pingchuan’s. They typically developed along a single path, like travelers reaching the pinnacle in different fields.
The most common were the Brutes, renowned for their unparalleled strength. Every punch they threw could shatter mountains and split stone. Even a steel car was nothing more than a child’s toy in their hands, to be manipulated, crushed, and molded at will.
Then there were the War Shielders, known for their resilience. Their bodies were like fortresses. They often stood at the forefront, high-shield in hand, blocking enemy attacks and standing tall.
Another group of Genetic Enhancers sacrificed strength and defense in exchange for speed far surpassing ordinary people. They were called Strikers. Relying on their phenonal speed, they moved like ghosts on the battlefield, often taking on assassination and scouting missions.
The number of Strikers was small compared to the first two types. But there was an even rarer evolutionary path: continuously strengthening the spirit to stimulate a spiritual mutation. This would eventually cause miraculous changes in the body, like cultivating a seed, to generate a unique, innate talent. These evolvers were no longer within the category of Genetic Enhancers; they were known as Genetic Empowerers. Nightingale and Belia, for example, were such individuals.
Of course, both Genetic Enhancers and Genetic Empowerers were only classified after reaching Level 4 as a Genetic Warrior. The path before that was simply a matter of strengthening one’s physical attributes to et the promotion standards.
If Genetic Warrior tiers were based on stats, a Level 1 Genetic Warrior would have two to four tis the physical constitution of an ordinary person. A Level 2 Genetic Warrior would be four to eight tis stronger. However, Level 3 was different; it was a watershed mont. The minimum standard for Level 3 was ten tis that of an ordinary person. This was a process of quantitative accumulation. At the peak of Level 3, this quantitative change would trigger a qualitative one—the day a Genetic Warrior broke free from their cocoon and underwent a tamorphosis.
It was safe to say that Chen Pingchuan was now a true all-around, ’hexagonal’ Level 3 Genetic Warrior. In terms of strength alone, he could even compete with those Genetic Warriors who had focused exclusively on deep strength enhancent.
This comprehensive enhancent granted him an unparalleled combat advantage. The buff ant that on the battlefield, he could both deal and take damage, as well as dodge effectively. Unless he faced soone who could absolutely suppress him, he was a reaper of lives.
I just wonder if I’ll develop an innate talent skill like the natives of this world when my Spirit attribute reaches the minimum standard for Level 4—twenty tis that of an ordinary person, Chen Pingchuan mused. As his stats continued to climb, he grew more and more expectant about his body’s future.
It’s a sha, though. It seems the higher my stats get, the lower the returns from slaughtering low-level enemies. Chen Pingchuan sighed softly, ntally calculating his gains and losses. Otherwise, with that recent breakneck pace of evolution, I might have already crossed the threshold of a Level 4 Genetic Warrior and stepped into a higher realm.
The sound of bullets whizzing by was relentless, yet Chen Pingchuan had the leisure to let his mind wander. He reminisced about his journey since the mont he acquired the Doomsday Redemption Simulator. He had spent very little ti in the real world—not counting the year he was in a coma, of course.
If my current rate of evolution were made public, the entire world would probably twist their faces in jealousy. Too bad I have no desire to be experinted on like a lab rat. Dressed to the nines with nowhere to go... a true master is lonely!
Just as Chen Pingchuan was marveling at his own strength, he suddenly spotted a massive tal shield hurtling towards his position at incredible speed from behind.
Chen Pingchuan was about to attack when he heard a familiar, youthful male voice from behind the giant shield, "Big Bro, it’s , Xiaoliu!"
Chen Pingchuan’s heart skipped a beat, and he halted his attack. The gigantic tal shield, like a speeding black shadow, whistled through the air and quickly closed in. As the shield shifted slightly, two familiar faces appeared from behind it: his comrades, Gelieza and Liu Haofeng.
"Why are you two here? Where’s our truck?" Chen Pingchuan asked, his brow furrowed in astonishnt.
"Big Bro, forget the truck! We need to run, now!" Liu Haofeng urged. "We’re out of ti!"
