Adopting the guise of an innocent maiden, Ji Hongxiu pretended to speak up for Chen Pingchuan, while in fact, she was mocking Belia.
"Great Spirit God, just look at her. She’s barely been here a minute and she’s already so unruly. If this continues, forget about —how are the other Divine Attendants who serve you supposed to manage? Are you planning to have no other won around you in the future?"
It dawned on Belia that the woman across from her might have a much closer relationship with her brother than she had imagined. Her face turned pale, and she looked nervously at Chen Pingchuan.
"Brother, I didn’t an it that way! It’s just... it’s just that this old woman is truly despicable!"
"Who are you calling an old woman?"
"Whoever’s old, that’s who I’m talking about."
"You..."
Ji Hongxiu smirked coldly. "Haha, don’t think I don’t know who you are. You may have the body of a child, but inside you’re just a witch who’s been around for decades. And you have the nerve to call old."
It’s said you don’t hit a person where it hurts most, but Ji Hongxiu’s words struck Belia’s deepest vulnerability. For her, physical wounds were not even a tenth as severe as her psychological trauma.
"I’m not old, you nasty woman!"
"Haha..."
Chen Pingchuan helplessly shut his mouth. Taking sides now would be wrong. Their conflict had reached an irreconcilable point. There had to be a fight between them; only a proper clash would allow them to cool down. After that, the problem would be much easier to solve.
"Brother, step aside for a mont," Belia said. "After I take down this abhorrent old woman, we can have a nice chat about how to deal with her."
"Haha, indeed. Talk is cheap, Great Spirit God," Ji Hongxiu retorted. "Once I’ve taken down this old hag, we can have a proper reunion."
Ji Hongxiu finished, blowing a kiss at Chen Pingchuan.
The next mont, Chen Pingchuan felt a powerful force drag him to a corner of the street. As for Hu Laosan and the others, they had stopped feigning unconsciousness the mont Ji Hongxiu appeared and had already fled the battlefield. With his own questions swirling in his mind, Chen Pingchuan hadn’t stopped them from leaving.
"Do you have to fight?" he asked, making one last attempt. It was useless.
Once Chen Pingchuan was clear of the battlefield, the two won locked eyes. The flas of animosity that flared between them seed hot enough to set the very air ablaze.
Ji Hongxiu drew the Bone-breaking Scorpion Tail Whip from her waist. Each segnt bristled with sharp barbs, looking as though a single lash could rip flesh and skin clean from the bone. She soared into the air, her furry ears twitching in the wind. Her lively eyes burned with the fire of battle, the whip in her hand coiling like a venomous snake, ready to strike Belia at any mont.
Across from her, the Telekinesis City Lord, Belia, wore a stern and determined expression. Her body floated upward, lifted by her power. With her hands slightly raised, powerful Telekinesis swirled around her, making the very air seem to vibrate.
"Little girl, you’ve got so skill, but you’re still far too green. Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you."
Watching Belia levitate, a subtle, unreadable glint appeared in Ji Hongxiu’s eyes. This City Lord of the City of No Night is more troubleso than I expected. Normal Seventh-Level Genetic Warriors can’t fly. That’s why the Eighth-Level Divine Transformation Realm can completely crush the Seventh-Level Grandmaster Realm. Yet here she is, not only able to match in the air, but her ability is the extrely rare Telekinesis. If I don’t transform, this could drag on for a while. After all, I can’t just go all out and kill the Master’s new little servant, can I?
Belia was unaware of Ji Hongxiu’s thoughts, but she refused to back down verbally. She stated solemnly, "I will spare your life as well."
The pressure from Ji Hongxiu is imnse. This woman can fly... she must have either awakened a rare special ability like mine, or she’s already at the eighth level. And with those furry fox ears, she’s clearly a high-ranking mber of the Blood Beast Ban, probably a provincial governor.
Despite this realization, Belia felt no fear. She had been stuck at the peak of the seventh level for a long ti and craved a satisfying battle to help her break through.
"Well, well, thank you for sparing my life, little sister. In that case, I won’t hold back!"
Before her words had even faded, Ji Hongxiu attacked. The whip lashed out like lightning, carving a vicious arc through the air as it whistled towards Belia.
Belia remained calm, her gaze fixed. Her powerful Telekinesis surged forth, forming an invisible barrier in front of her. The whip struck the barrier with a loud SNAP, instantly breaching the defense and continuing towards Belia’s body.
When her defense failed, Belia swung her laser warblade to block the assault. However, the whip, which had been as rigid as a sword, suddenly went limp and coiled around the laser warblade. A powerful force surged through it; if Belia hadn’t been prepared, she would have been disard.
Seeing her first strike fail, Ji Hongxiu imdiately changed tactics. She used agile, almost ghostly movents to weave around Belia, launching periodic probing attacks. Belia was forced to constantly adjust her telekinetic defenses. Facing an opponent an entire major realm above her, Belia had no way to end the fight quickly.
The two exchanged blows in the air. Every clash between the whip and the laser warblade produced a thunderous boom, the shockwaves causing the ground below to tremble and kicking up clouds of dust that obscured the sky.
Of course, both were mindful of Chen Pingchuan, so despite the ferocity of their moves, they were holding back. Still, faced with a stalemate, neither was willing to concede. Ji Hongxiu had her trump cards, and Belia had her own ultimate moves. But without resorting to their final techniques, Belia was clearly at a disadvantage.
From his corner of the street, Chen Pingchuan watched the fierce battle in the sky and mulled over his situation.
Why is every woman I et so violent? They just start fighting right away! Can’t they try to win people over with virtue?
He had conveniently forgotten how he had "disciplined" Ji Hongxiu in the simulation—a classic case of being strict with others and lenient with oneself.
Still, if Ji Hongxiu’s attitude toward is really what she just showed, maybe returning to Spirit Beast Island in the real world isn’t impossible. I’m just not sure how she would treat after I returned. Would she really be like this?
A massive question mark ford in Chen Pingchuan’s mind.
Just as he was lost in his wild thoughts, a large hand suddenly shot out from behind him, grabbing his arm in an attempt to pull him into the darkness.
