Sunshine abandoned the idea of a nap after one hour of twisting and turning around. She would have kept trying to force sleep to co naturally if White did not complain about her tossing and turning.

She had never seen a bear glaring, but she was certain White did it.

"Work it is." she muttered, kissed the little cub on the top of his furry head and left him to his cartoons.

She vanished into the space to finish the tasks she had abandoned to solve the Bob issue. First, she tied her hair into a bun, letting the familiar routine calm her nerves. Then she picked up the vials where she had left them and went into the living section of the space.

For caution’s sake, after laying down the vials by the aquarium, she wore a pair of gloves and white lab coat. Carefully, she started taking out the syringes from the aquarium. The marrow extract_ a thick, orange substance was filled.

One by one, she emptied the syringes and carefully transferred the extract into glass vials. The glass clicked softly each ti she placed a filled vial on the tray. When she finished, she returned to the normal space and tucked them gently into the refrigerator_ already programd to the exact temperature needed. The mont the door clicked shut, she felt a tiny spark of satisfaction.

At least sothing in her day was going as planned. She removed the gloves but kept the coat on. Working fast, she finished decorating the aquarium with the turtle and placed it inside. It imdiately started munching on coral happily.

"I should find you so friends." She tapped the glass, smiling softly.

The turtle cared more about the coral than her and it paid her no mind. She moved on to the Spikers, noticing that the adult one was showing signs of recovery. It was lazily munching on coral, and its long tail was flipping slowly every other second.

Sunshine wiped her hands on the coat, toured the farms, checked on the fish and then finally moved to her worktable. As usual, the first task was to scroll through the list of pending repair jobs, skipping the ones that were too ti-consuming or too tireso. A few caught her attention_ small but profitable tasks that her autonomous tools could handle easily.

"Accept, this, this and that," she said.

The system responded to her requests. Seventy percent of the tasks were for robot parts and household items. The rest were simply technology that she had an interest in.

She gave instructions to the autonomous repair tools and watched as they repaired an ergency pod beacon.

Satisfied with how that was going, she finally turned to what had been itching at her curiosity for days.

"System," she said, folding her arms with anticipation, "bring the glowing stone from Busker."

A soft shimr cut through the air. In a matter of seconds, the stone appeared. It looked exactly as she had found it_ bluish light and pulsing softly like a heartbeat.

Sunshine reached out slowly, stretching her hand over it. The mont her fingers brushed the surface, she felt a jolt_ not painful, but powerful_ it shot up her arm.

She inhaled sharply. Energy surged through her veins like her abilities had woken from sleep. Her muscles humd, her senses sharpened, and for a brief second, she felt... unstoppable, like she could kill a croccodylus with her bare hands.

"What the hell is this?" she whispered, pulling her hand back.

[A Pri core], the system replied.

"What is that?" Sunshine asked, raising a brow.

[A Pri core is a unique stone that originates from the Xylos Domain, a highly advanced world that is closed off to other worlds and outsiders.

They have not sought the help of repairn in three thousand years. I cannot help you much because nearly all information about them is restricted or concealed. But...] it added, sounding rather pleased with itself, [I managed to source what little data exists.]

A diagram of the stone rotated slowly on the screen in her head.

[The pri core is believed to be the original source of all energy in the Xylos Domain. Their most powerful technology grows from it. On the dark market, small pieces of the stone are sold at exorbitant prices_ when they appear at all. Most listings are fake.]

Sunshine stared at the real stone sitting inches from her, wondering how much she would get for the entire thing. "Is it useful to in anyway or should I start looking for buyers?" She paused and stretched her hand towards it. "I can feel my energy spiking just by touching it."

[That is one of its primary functions] the system confird. [It amplifies the abilities of a mutant bringing them to their highest potential even without years of training.]

Sunshine’s breath caught.

That kind of power...

[In the right hands] the system said [it could save lives. But in the wrong hands, it could destroy them.]

Sunshine thought of all the villainous superhumans she had co across or heard about in her last life. If any of them got their hands on this stone!! "Thank God, I found it first."

The system’s tone softened. [You are speaking too soon. The power of the pri core can erode even the strongest mind. It fuels ambition and gives delusions of grandeur. Even good people can be corrupted by it. Wars have been fought over these stones. So say it is the reason why Xylos sealed itself off from other worlds. I don’t know how a piece of a stone ended up on your small earth.]

She pursed her lips, staring at the stone with heavy thoughts weighing down her chest. The stone seed like sothing that would bring trouble not just from humans but aliens too.

[You can choose to hand over the stone to the council of repairn.]

Sunshine frowned. That option was good, but she had another use for the stone in mind. She rubbed her thumb on her chin. "We don’t know how many pieces of this stone are out there. This looks like it broke off from a bigger one.

Soone else might be out there strengthening themselves. It could be a single person or a group. My superhumans are still weak as am I. This stone is an advantage for us. If I could share even a little of this power with them without letting them know how or what I am doing...." She broke off. "How would I do that?"

A new image appeared on the screen, that of the thermal band. [You could embed a small fragnt of the pri core inside each thermal band.] the system suggested. [The wearers would never detect it.]

Sunshine’s eyebrows shot up. "That’s... brilliant." She let out a short laugh. "And sneaky. I like it."

The tension in her shoulders eased, the thermal bands were actually easy to control.

But curiosity tugged at her again, sharp as a hook. "System tell more about the Xylos Domain. Who lives there?"

[Highly advanced beings, extrely knowledgeable. Known as the Xylas. They are faceless and shapeless, so no one has ever confird what they actually look like. However...]

A blurred, almost static-filled image popped up.

Sunshine leaned forward, squinting.

It was almost impossible to make out anything. Shadows, shapes, maybe a silhouette but nothing clear.

Then she saw sothing familiar.

A claw with a padded bottom, curved, powerful, with a shape unmistakably familiar.

Her chest tightened. "...that looks just like the bottom of the watchers feet," she whispered.

The system hesitated. [I cannot confirm that. But there are similarities. At least that one part. This is unconfird information host, so I urge you to remain calm.]
