In the Kitchen, Hades was standing by the counter, pouring oat milk into cups. Sunshine peeked at him once and cleared her throat.

He looked over his shoulder, raising his brows. "What?"

Her eyes road over his physique in appreciation. Hades had really put in the work and beco more fit and muscular. His hair had grown longer, lending extra charm to his already good looks.

"I feel objectified." He flexed his biceps.

It was her turn to raise her eyebrows. Nobody that felt objectified felt the need to show off even more. "How can you bla when you are serving the buffet?" She asked, conjuring his words, once upon a ti.

He chortled. "I am fully dressed. Don’t bla if you find hotter than Dominic."

She burst into laughter, turned and left the kitchen to join the kids at the dining table. Ariel and Earl had their heads together, whispering about the kid squad project. Ariel was making notes in his notebook, probably about the sa thing.

And White, he had his eyes glued to the tablet Hades had set up for him to watch cartoons.

Sunshine sighed when she took in their sight. If anyone had told her to guess what her future would be like after rebirth, she would not have guessed this. Who would ever imagine being a parent to an alien bear that watched cartoons and ate at the dining table?

What made her frown were the bright neon green gloves on White’s paws. Whose bright idea had that been? Probably Rori.

"Good morning mom!" Ariel called out grinning. "We were going to bring you breakfast in the workshop."

Sunshine ca out of her thoughts and pulled out a chair beside White. She touched her chest lightly. "Oh aren’t you sweet my darling baby boy."

"Yes I am. I am your baby boy." Castiel raised his hand, and so did White.

They all burst out laughing, having expected the bear to mimic Castiel. And without delay, White claid his place in her lap, laying his head on her chest. His purple eyes had that usual needy shimr which Hades had nad the, "I am your forever burden look."

Lisha preferred to call it the "Parasite look."

And to Sunshine, it was and would always be the emotional blackmail look that White had crafted to tug at her heartstrings whenever she felt the urge to frown at him after he broke sothing in the house.

Hades was sure they would need to move into a bigger residence as White grew because he would never be an outside bear.

"Mommy, can Dash co for sleep over?" Castiel asked her.

"Aunt Nimo’s dog!" Sunshine exclaid.

"No." Hades said firmly, placing breakfast around the table with Cathy and Tank’s help. "We have White."

Earl gasped. "Dad, White is not a dog."

Even White squeaked in protest, looking at Sunshine for help. She in turn looked at her husband, "Honey, White is demanding for an apology."

Cathy and the boys sniggered. White, the little bear just looked at Hades like it expected him to apologize, truly.

Hades folded his arms across his chest. He had been losing many wars at ho, it was ti to win one. "I am not apologizing, I did not call him a dog. Also, the hierarchy in this family goes..." He raised his arm, "dad, mom, Ariel, Earl, Castiel, White."

Sunshine cleared her throat.

Hades scratched his neck. "I an mom, dad, Ariel....."

The kids giggles made him stop.

Cathy placed fried eggs on the table and said, "Mr. Quinn, I am pretty sure it goes Suni, Ariel, Castiel, Earl and White. Tank. And then you."

Hades’ huffed. "Oh co on, even the robot!"

"He makes our als." Ariel shared.

Laughter buzzed around the dining room. Breakfast was a delightful affair and the chattering did not stop until the doorbell buzzed, sharp and urgent like the base was on fire.

Hades raised an eyebrow. "What could be possibly wrong now?"

Sunshine shook her head. "No report about anything bad yet on the walkies-talkies." She walked to the door and opened it. Standing there was Lisha, her eyes bright and coat ruffled by the morning breeze.

"Good you are up." Lisha said quickly. "Father Nicodemus is requesting a eting urgently."

Sunshine frowned. "What is this about?"

"I hope it has nothing to do with preaching about morality." Hades said, helping Castiel wear his bag. "Please don’t be Sheldon trouble."

Lisha gave him a weary look. "Never have I heard him ask for anything so desperately."

"Well, tell the rest then." Sunshine said.

Ariel nodded. "I have a special announcent to make as well."

Hades let out a long theatrical sigh. "Ariel you need to cut back on the excitent."

Ariel just smiled innocently.

"Co on, let’s go." Hades told the children. He kissed Sunshine on the cheek. "I will see you at training."

When they were all gone, Sunshine slung her workout bag over the shoulder _ but Lisha reached into her own bag . "Before you go, there is sothing that you should see. It is actually the real reason I ca here."

She pulled out a slim tablet and tapped the screen. A video flickered to life, showing the previous day’s footage from Busker. They watched the fight briefly, then Lisha paused it.

"Well, what am I looking at?" Sunshine asked.

Frozen on screen was a pile of debris and underneath it_ a bluish light, faint but pulsing like a heartbeat.

Lisha looked at her. "I noticed this at night when I was looking for eggs, little crocs, anything odd. What do you think that is."

Sunshine leaned closer, squinting. "Maybe so animal? Glowing eyes or skin? I can think of many mutated animals with blue eyes."

Lisha shook her head. "Then why didn’t it attack like the others? I think its sothing else. Isn’t it odd that Busker is flooded with all sorts of mutated beasts? And why would they work together? Since when do hyenas see rabbits and go...hey teammate! I think sothing else is going on over there."

Sunshine was a bit skeptical. "Lisha, if humans can band together when there ho is attacked, why not animals? Besides, most of them lived in the forest, the teors displaced them just like it did to us. Busker just happened to be empty and a suitable habitat for them to call ho."

Lisha shuffled her feet. "Oh co on! My spidey senses are tingling. Let us just check it out! At least we should send a drone for a closer look. Whatever it is, it has not moved since yesterday. And the rest of the beasts take turns to sleep around that area."

Sunshine found that odd. "Fine. After the eting."

Feeling triumphant, Lisha threw a fist up. "Finally, I am useful in battle. I am going to go and monitor it now."

Sunshine exhaled. "You are skipping training again.. You should train as well Lisha, you rarely do that. We all need to be fit in case running and physical combat is the only way to save our lives."

Lisha waved lightly and began to walk. "Tomorrow."

"That is what you say everyday." Sunshine shouted as the woman escaped through the door.

"I am serious this ti." Lisha shouted back before closing the door firmly.

Sunshine knew it was a lie. Tomorrow, Lisha would have another excuse. But that was a problem for another day. For now, it was best to et the priest and see why he was panicked.
