Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again. Chapter 294: Fiery rage, still burning
Heath was a cautious man, and he did not dare to take the strange woman into his base. He left her where she lay and instructed his n not to move her. If she froze to death on her own, it was not his fault but that of the watchers.
Hours passed, and the woman did not move. No one on the patrol team drifted away from their posts including Heath. They watched through binoculars, cloaked in jackets while filling their stomachs on hot vanilla spiced tea.
Heath had surrounded himself with his soldiers in the room where he was watching from. One of the won in the group felt uncomfortable because the woman outside was naked. The urge to say sothing had been growing in her throat with every second that passed.
She stepped forward hesitantly as she could not hold back anymore. "Sir, permission to cover the woman."
Heath gave a short snort. "Do it if you are brave enough to go close to her."
The others chuckled uneasily, so daring her to go outside. The woman ignored them, grabbed a long thick brown jacket and went outside. Every step she took kicked up so snow until she reached the unnaturally dry ground around the woman.
She crouched slowly, heart thudding, as brave as she was there was no absence of fear. The woman on the ground was still, like a dead body. Her face was pale, almost the color of snow. It seed to have healed because it did not match the description the soldiers had given.
The woman opened her eyes.
A gasp tore through the air, the soldier stumbled back, slipping and falling before standing up and running back to the building.
It was not the fact that the woman was awake which scared her, it was because the woman’s eyes burned bright orange, glowing from within.
Other guards hurried outside, weapons ready to take down whatever the threat was.
The woman stood up and the jacket fell to the ground. Confusion flashed in her eyes at first, then fear, then wild panic. Her hands stretched out, and flas burst from her fingertips.
"Get back!" Jude shouted at her.
Heath was already preparing his exit to the safe room and yet the desire to watch had him rooted where he was.
Outside, the guards too staggered away as the flas intensified spiraling like ribbons. The air had turned blisteringly hot.
"She is a pyrokinetic!" Soone shouted.
"Hold your fire! She will be useful." A woman’s voice shouted from the window.
Heath narrowed his eyes at his daughter Paula. "Shoot if you have to."
The woman scread_a raw broken sound and the fire around her flared outward catching the nearby sandbags ablaze. "Useful! You want to use as a lab rat!? You are just like Ceaser!"
A team of superhumans rushed forward, they were trained to handle such cases.
"Hyde, Cody, move to the front." Paula shouted.
Two n swirled their hands as they manipulated the snow to form walls around the woman. The heat around her however quickly lted them.
A third woman raised her arms, drawing water from the tanks nearby, flinging it into steam as it hit the fire.
"Calm down!" one of them shouted over the roar. "You are safe here; we are not your enemy!"
The pyrokinetic did not believe a word that ca out of their mouths. Her hair caught fla. whipping like a burning halo. Fire stread down her palms, hurling blasts of fire in all directions.
The woman that was controlling water scread as the vapor burst near her face, scalding it.
"She is out of control!" Jude bellowed.
"Contain her! Now!" Paula ordered, she manipulated the wind to divert the fire from where she stood.
Two superhumans stepped in. One with exposed pale arms and blue veins, the other one simply silver like tal. A psychic blast shook the sand, making the woman to stumble back.
"I will destroy all of you that are using the apocalypse to fulfill your evil desires." The woman declared as she stood again.
Heath was tired. "Just shoot her already."
"Wait," A tall man with ash-colored eyes stepped forward. "Let try." His palms began to glow faintly with red heat. He approached her slowly, fire flickering around him.
His fire t hers and both flas spiraled upwards.
"You must have been through a lot, judging from your words. I can sense your pain. You are scared that is why you are out of control, but you do not have to be. There are people like you here, people that understand you. We have won and children on the grounds; do you really want to burn them to death? You sound like a protector, please, protect them."
His tone was convincing enough to make her pause.
"What is your na?" he asked. "I am Arwin, a pyrokinetic like you."
The woman’s flas dimd slightly but her eye remained narrowed, suspicion in their depths. "Nina Croft." She answered curtly.
"Nice to et you, Nina." He smiled, hands still raised out of caution. "I don’t know how you got here but I believe it is for a reason. Maybe you should drink so water, get sothing to eat and tell your story. Mine is that I was taking a dump when the teors fell and when I woke up, I was coughing smoke. I also burned my wife’s eyebrows off accidentally." He laughed.
Nina stared at him, as though trying to decide whether to believe him or not. It was a very embarrassing story.
Her lips trembled, then slowly, she lowered her hands. The fire sank into her skin, leaving faint orange veins that pulsed like cold lava. her knees gave out; she fell on the ground.
"Get her to the infirmary." Arwin shouted.
Heath stepped towards Paula. "Keep her under watch, if she flares up again, put her down, even if your brother is against it."
"Father, she is not a threat." Paula argued.
"We will see about that." Heath said, he looked out of the window and saw the watchers flying away. They had brought the woman, stayed and watched. Why? He asked himself.

Fortress Four.
By night fall, word had spread that Sunshine had created an artificial moon, and that it was going to be tested in the second wall training field.
Curfew had been suspended because Sunshine had invited anyone that wanted to see the moon to join the party. Families left their houses wrapped in thick coats and scarves, excitent and anticipation arched in their faces.
At the field, many people had gathered, staring at the dark sky where the moon was suspended. It was dim as most lights had been turned off to witness the wonder.
Hades stood beside his wife. "Are you nervous?"
"Just a little." Sunshine’s fingers hovered over the tablet which she was using to control the settings of the moon.
He smiled. "You have done harder things."
She took a deep breath, then tapped the screen.
For a mont, nothing happened. Then_
A low hum rippled through the air, followed by a soft pulse of light. The sphere above them began to glow, faint at first, then brighter until it bathed nearly the whole mountain in a bright light. It got brighter the more Sunshine adjusted the slider on the tablet
Gasps filled the air.
Children scread with joy.
Suddenly Hades pulled her close and kissed her, pride and warmth overwheld him.
Castiel escaped from his grandmother’s arms and run to his mother, he tugged her coat breaking the kiss. "Mommy, you did it! You made a moon."
"Yes, I did champ." Sunshine took him in her hands. "If you give a kiss on the cheek, I will make you a small moon and a big sun."
Castiel gasped.
Sunshine laughed. She had a feeling that everyone in Castiel’s class would hear about this the following day.
Hades groaned. "Dammit, now Jon and the Jonnies will ask for artificial moons as well." Why did his wife have to invent cool things?
