"Taking the ’possibility clone’ as an example, perhaps there is only one way to ensure its survival when the original self is killed by Impermanence, and that is to deliberately create a clone whose thoughts are vastly different from one’s own."

"In the past, Dr. Silver Mask managed to beco independent from Ying Lingyun’s consciousness network through this characteristic. It is likely that when I was destroying all the ’possibility clones’ of Ying Lingyun along the consciousness network, I did not necessarily reach Dr. Silver Mask."

"However, this type of clone obviously does not et Yinyue’s needs. What she wants is another entity that is completely—or at least significantly—similar in thought to herself, as a continuation of her own self. Creating a clone like Dr. Silver Mask would be putting the cart before the horse."

"I think you might be misunderstanding sothing. Yinyue never placed her hopes on the path of cloning from the beginning, and I am not her clone." The Ancient Moon God said seriously, "I was born from the faith of the Ancient Moon Villagers, and can be considered a deity."

"Can deities be born from faith?" I asked.

This concept isn’t really novel; in many folk tales and myths from around the world, there are stories where people’s prayers or desires give rise to spirits or demons; and in modern fictional stories, to explain the existence of deities, so stories advocate that it is not the deities that co first and then faith, but rather faith that cos first and then deities, deriving the explanation that deities erge from the collective faith.

But as much as fantasy is fantasy, whether this explanation could stand in reality was sothing I still needed to verify.

"Not all faiths give birth to a deity, sotis even religions with nurous followers don’t produce any, while sotis even the prayers of just a few people are enough to generate a sacred spiritual body," explained the Ancient Moon God patiently. "The ergence of a faith deity is indeed an unreplicable miracle each ti. And the Ancient Moon Villagers aren’t so special; they do not have the conditions to produce a deity... Of course, even if you ask what those conditions are, I cannot answer. At least the villagers of Ancient Moon do not possess the charisma to call forth miracles.

"However, Yinyue possesses the superpower to turn fantasy into reality. With her encouragent, originally unreplicable miracles beco easily manifestable in her hands."

I felt once again, the superpower to turn fantasy into reality, exactly how unreasonable this power truly is.

To think that even creating a deity was possible. Even though this "deity" is definitely nowhere near as powerful as Impermanence, who is revered as a god on earth, it still sounded incredible enough.

"To allow the Ancient Moon Villagers to produce a deity similar to herself, she repetitively demonstrated her ’miracles’ to the villagers. Then, to ensure the power of their faith-fueled thoughts would create and not just focus on her, she started to disappear from everyone’s sight from a certain day onward," the Ancient Moon God continued. "Suddenly deprived of divine protection, the villagers reverted to their harsh lives, praying fervently out of fear, and eventually, they successfully birthed my existence.

"However, my birth did not completely satisfy Yinyue. Though my power attribute was similar to hers, my thoughts were markedly different from hers. The component that ford my existence included too many of the villagers’ sincere hopes, making a benign deity with no malice towards humans.

"Yinyue could accept my weakness, but she could not accept that my thoughts differed from hers, aning I was not another her, unable to continue her legacy.

"Fortunately, perhaps because she perceived as a failure but still valuable as a case study, she did not destroy on the spot but sealed instead on Moon Concealing Mountain. Afterwards, she left without saying goodbye and never returned. Based on the vague connection between her and , she seems to have died nearly twenty years ago.

"And just recently, although I don’t know how, she resurrected using so unknown thod..."

"Resurrection?" Hearing her previous words, I grew skeptical about this claim and said, "You claim to be a benevolent deity with no malice towards humans... but those villagers don’t see you that way, do they?"

"This is because Yinyue altered history, and the fog outside is also a manifestation of her power," she answered calmly. "In the original history, Ancient Moon Village was never renad to Hu Family Village, after Yinyue left, and I was sealed, all the villagers moved out of the mountain.

"In the altered history, however, I beca a depraved Evil God, and the person who sealed switched from Yinyue to a fictional Immortal. Those villagers are actually people who had died long ago, rely brought back by Yinyue’s power of altering history.

"However, because the soul inherently transcends ti and space, rely modifying history is not enough to truly resurrect the dead. Those villagers, who appear to be alive, are actually just illusions believing they have souls, and their mission is to monitor ."

"Monitor you, why?" I asked.

"Because I hold a portion of Yinyue’s authority," she stated frankly. "Although I do not know through what thod she has now resurrected, it is clear that she could not regain her full power imdiately after her resurrection.

"She likely foresaw this and left a backup of her power sowhere beforehand. Thus, as soon as she resurrected, by summoning her backup power, she could quickly return to her pri.

"However, this thod seems to have encountered a flaw due to my existence. A portion of the power she summoned automatically entered my body on Moon Concealing Mountain, preventing her from returning to her peak. Soon after, she sustained a severe blow in your hands and then fled to Moon Concealing Mountain."

"She must have realized that the reason she couldn’t smoothly recover her power was because of , so she wanted to kill and take away the part of the power that belongs to her. However, because her condition is very poor now, she temporarily can’t kill and can only strengthen the Sealing on , waiting for her injuries to recover before dealing with again. I could have broken the old Sealing in a short ti with my enhanced power, but now I can only be trapped again in the mystical fog, unable to escape."

Speaking, she touched the stone necklace around her neck.

It seems that the physical manifestation of the Sealing is this stone necklace.

Yinyue sustained serious injuries... Last ti, although she managed to escape from my grasp mysteriously, it turns out she was not unscathed.

"Trapped in the mystical fog—not trapped in the shrine?" I asked.

"This shrine, I can leave whenever I want, but as long as I can’t leave the fog, it’s all the sa wherever I go. Those illusion villagers outside are just doing their duty loyally, I don’t want to cause them trouble," sighed the Ancient Moon God deeply.

Even worrying about the illusion villagers, is she too saintly?

Although such a thought ca to my mind, I still haven’t completely believed that she is the so-called "benevolent deity."

So far, her account of her origins and nature is just one-sided. No matter how gentle she appears, I can’t just believe her right away.

I asked pointedly, "So, where is Yinyue now? I’ll go and kill her right now."

"Yinyue is in the deepest part of the mystical fog. However, you absolutely can’t find her now," said the Ancient Moon God, "’Trapping ’ is just a secondary function for this fog; the main function is to protect herself before she recovers from the serious injuries.

"The deeper you go into the fog, the more you lose the correct direction, and eventually, it will be like encountering a spatial rift, making it impossible to go further. I do have the ability to break it because my power is the sa as Yinyue’s. But now I’ve been Sealed by Yinyue, to go deep into the fog, I must first break the Sealing imposed on by Yinyue."

"Breaking the Sealing..." I looked at the stone necklace on her neck.

She quickly protected her neck and said, "That... if you destroy this necklace, I will also die, please don’t do that.

"There’s a very simple way to break the Sealing, just take outside the mystical fog. The main purpose of this Sealing is to keep trapped in the fog; once I’m outside the fog, the Sealing will lose its purpose and then crumble.

"You should be able to leave the fog, right? Although being inside the shrine, I can vaguely sense the changes in the outside world. I saw that you left the interior of the fog with the help of that girl. Please help ; let that girl take out as well."

"It seems you really want to leave the mystical fog..."

I realized that regardless of her true intentions, "leaving the fog" must be a crucial step for her.

And the more she wants to leave the fog, the more I need to carefully consider the consequences of taking her out of the fog.

Also, since those villagers make feel they are not human because they are illusions created after Yinyue altered history, then what about Dong Che?

It’s impossible that even Dong Che is a dead person from history, an illusion born from Yinyue altering history, then how could Gua Tianshi possibly value Dong Che so much?

Dong Che’s admiration and trust in , along with his indifferent attitude towards life and death, touched . If an opportunity arises, I would want to save him from a fatal conclusion. Thus, I also tried to inquire about Dong Che with the Ancient Moon God.

She seed a bit puzzled, apparently unaware of Dong Che’s identity. Seeing this, I explained Dong Che’s background and his identity as a Direct Disciple of Impermanence. After listening, she showed a thoughtful expression.

"I see... So that young man is actually Gua Tianshi’s Direct Disciple..." She seed to understand sothing, "No wonder Gua Tianshi suddenly appeared nearby."
