On the road, Li Ming quietly stopped the vehicle as he watched the fight unfold in front of him.
The way ahead was blocked by a continuously swinging vine mutants, continuing in this direction would inevitably bring them face to face with them. It was safer to go check things out first.
"Moo~"
The mutant buffalo also perceived the battle ahead, letting out a low growl as if on alert.
"Honey, what’s wrong?"
The stopping of the RV grabbed the won’s attention. Liu Minying ca to the cabin and, seeing Li Ming already up, couldn’t help asking with worry.
As she asked, she tried to look ahead but saw nothing.
The battle was happening quite a distance from the RV, and the heavy rain provided an additional screen. Those without enough strength couldn’t see what was happening ahead.
"A monster conflict is happening up ahead. I’ll go see how we can get around it. You guys wait here for now."
Li Ming embraced Sister Wen gently, pleasuring her with a flick of his tongue, then let go and spoke softly.
"Mmm, you take care too, honey!"
Liu Minying nodded anxiously, then hurriedly helped Li Ming put on his armor. She watched as he picked up his gun and sword and stepped out of the RV.
Before leaving, Li Ming specifically grabbed a pack of mutant at and stuck it in his armor. Once he got off the RV, he used telekinesis to scan the Golden Toad and the vines, frowning slightly. Thinking for a mont, he went to the other side and took down the rope tying the mutant buffalo.
"Old Bull, co, let’s check this out."
Leapfrogging onto the buffalo’s back, Li Ming grabbed the rope with one hand and held his spear with the other, instructing the mutant buffalo quietly and pointing ahead with his spear.
"Moo."
The mutant buffalo seed to understand Li Ming’s instruction. Its eyes narrowed slightly and it started to move forward slowly.
Without any equipnt to aid him, riding on the buffalo was a bit inconvenient, so Li Ming fashioned a loop from a spare piece of rope to use as a footrest on the buffalo’s back. Sliding his feet into the loop was much more comfortable.
Next, he took so bites of the mutant at before storing the rest back in his armor, adjusted his longsword with his left hand, held the long spear with his right, and rode the mutant buffalo closer to the battleground of the mutant Golden Toad and the vines.
About 500m away, Li Ming yanked the rope, signalling the mutant buffalo to stop. He then sidestepped into the surrounding farmland, quietly waiting for the result of the battle.
The agricultural fields were past harvest season. With no one tending to them and the wash of rainfall, most of the crops were ruined and dropped to the ground, leaving only so thick wild grass growing rampantly.
The area Li Ming and the buffalo walked into was a cornfield, the sturdy corn stalks could partially cover the large body of the mutant buffalo, reducing their visibility.
Seeing this, Li Ming ducked low on the buffalo’s back to decrease their presence. He held the long spear parallel to the ground, controlling the buffalo to inch closer while monitoring the two mutant creatures ahead.
The mutant vines seed too close to the nearby pond, Li Ming noticed nurous stems imrsed in the water. This action offended the Golden Toad’s territory, which likely resulted in their clash.
The vine’s territory was vast, reaching the pond on one side and nearing the road on the other. However, it wasn’t high; it was composed of low-lying stems.
The battle was fierce. The mutant Golden Toad was agile and capable of spewing corrosive fog. The fog left the vine stems corroded and pitted. So stems had even turned greyish distortions.
Li Ming saw that a few of those stems had turned completely greyish and fallen to the ground. There was no doubt that the mutant vine could no longer control them.
However, the lashes of the mutant vines were not to be underestimated. Each stem was ard with sharp barbs. Each whip to the ground resulted in a small pit, and nurous trees around had been broken by them.
On the surface, the mutant Golden Toad had the upper hand. Nevertheless, the mutant vine could make nurous mistakes, but a single mistake by the toad might be fatal.
Li Ming noticed, amid their fierce fight, that the mutant Golden Toad had tried to leave the attack range of the vine stems many tis, even successfully a few tis, but the vine did not pursue.
From this, it could be inferred that the vine could not move.
"If we detour again, it won’t be worth it..."
Watching the two creatures fight, Li Ming had a thought. The heavy rain seed not to stop anyti soon, and they could only travel slowly. If they didn’t detour, they could arrive ho by tomorrow morning. But if they did, who knew how much more ti it would take?
In this rainy weather with thunder and lightning, with creatures restless, who knew what other monsters might encounter on a longer detour? Rather than that, it was better to deal with the two mutant creatures at hand.
Moreover... It was the first ti Li Ming had seen a mutant plant.
Did it have sothing special like the crystal core or mutant at found in mutant creatures?
Could he absorb it?
The only problem was... the mutant vine seed hard to kill.
If using a fire-based ability?
Li Ming looked at the heavy rain and promptly dismissed the idea.
Burning dry wood was fine, but the mutant vine seed to contain plenty of water. Using fire-based ability alone, even if it could set the vine alight, who knew how much energy it could consu.
So... he had to rely on telekinesis.
Staying out of the reach of the mutant vine, he could use telekinesis to control a sharp weapon to cut each stem one by one.
