Tie Jun cast her a warning glance, huffed, then turned and left the room.
Zhao i stood stunned for a mont, pursing her lips as she quickly fetched a pen and paper from her bedside table, jotting down an address: Tianning Villa District, Villa 6.
Having written it down, Zhao i gripped the note tightly, then went to the bathroom to dry her hair and wash her face.
Once she’d tidied herself up, she inspected her image in the mirror - a woman with flowing hair and radiant skin gazed back. Satisfied, she nodded at her reflection and proceeded to pick out a set of underwear.
After ticulously dressing herself, she pulled on a pair of black stockings, followed by skinny jeans to cover them. She then put on a top over her bra, stood before the mirror again, and saw a mature, elegant woman with a gentle deanor.
She nodded in approval, then switched her slippers for a pair of sport shoes. She applied a coat of lipstick, the color vibrant as a fla, and then stowed the lipstick back in her bag. She gave a smile to the woman in the mirror, then grabbed her bag and walked out the door.
Just as she was about to step out of her room, Zhao i reluctantly pinned on a plate that read "House Slave", quickly hiding it under her collar before striding out the door.
She breezed past the won in the villa, who seed oblivious to her, happily enjoying the peace. Once outside the villa, she hopped on her electric bike and headed to the "Tianning Villa District".
Though Tie Jun was an ability user, his duties required him to reside in a general free resident sector rather than the privileged core areas, which made it easier for him to manage any incidents that might arise.
Riding past markets, passing through reserves sections, crossing official military campgrounds, maneuvering around armories, weaving through farmlands and special privilege areas, she finally reached the outskirts of the four major villa districts.
"Stop. Those without special passes may not enter the Heavenly District," a soldier announced.
Just as Zhao i was about to drive in, a group of on-duty soldiers stopped her. Confused since she clearly had a special pass attached to her vehicle, she dismounted to check. To her surprise, the pass had disappeared.
Frustrated, Zhao i swung her bag aggressively and parked her vehicle at a nearby parking lot before proceeding on foot to the villa district.
Upon seeing a consultant dressed in a red uniform (akin to a nurse’s outfit), she promptly approached to inquire about hitching a ride on a tour bus to the Tianning Villa District.
Each of the four villa districts was sprawling, with command centers and trading centers housed within. The journey on foot to the "Tianning Villa District" would be quite a trek.
Fortunately, the consultant agreed to her request and Zhao i thanked her before informing her of her destination: Villa 6, Tianning Villa District. She then hurried on to the tour bus which dropped her off in front of the villa.
After exiting the bus, Zhao i respectfully waved goodbye to the consultant who returned to her post. She then stood by the roadside, scanning the surroundings before she cautiously started her approach towards the villa with her stocking-covered long legs wrapped in denim
Before long, she arrived at the entrance of the villa court. She cautiously peered inside, noticing the absence of people within. A frown montarily furrowed her brows as she noticed the signage at the entrance announcing - Special Ability User: Li Ming.
It ca to her senses that the man had not given her a false address, so she rang the doorbell.
After ringing the bell, Zhao i nervously tiptoed on the spot. Even regular privileges villa courts usually have many servants, let alone the ones inside here.
Li Ming’s court appeared to be deserted, which would be normal before the apocalypse, but it made her feel a bit uneasy now.
Fortunately, after waiting for a while, the villa’s large gate opened and a woman erged from within.
Zhao i gave her a once-over. While the woman had an air of elegance that didn’t quite match hers, she was nonetheless lovely. Zhao i promptly bead at her.
"Yes?" the woman asked confusingly, pausing about five ters from the gate.
"My na is Zhao i. I’m here to see Li Ming. He is expecting ." Zhao i replied.
Zhao i began to speak with a laugh, her expressions being very elegant.
"Oh, please wait a mont, I will ask my master," the woman hurriedly replied before turning and running back to the villa. Shortly after, a man erged with a smiling face, his body covered in sweat, as he wiped himself dry with a damp towel.
Zhao i imdiately recognized him as the man who had intensely touched her in the morning. Joy instantly filled her heart, raising on her tiptoes she watched him approach and open the villa’s door, only to be swept up into his arms.
The man’s physical strength was robust, and Zhao i, her face flushed, loosely relaxed into his grip. She bashfully turned her head to the side as he carried her into the villa, closing the door behind them.
Once inside, she was surprised to see there were quite a few other won residing in the mansion. But none of them were in the yard. As she was contemplating how to approach the others, she was carried to an unoccupied room.
"Ka~"
With the closing of the door, the bag in her hand dropped to the ground powerlessly.
"........."
Lying sideways in the man’s arms, Zhao i was puzzled by her energetic feelings.
Looking at the man’s glee, her long suppressed emotions finally got a sense of recognition and she couldn’t help but beam a radiant smile.
She leaned her mouth closer to his ear and whispered her request for his support.
"It’s not easy to operate this business. Since you live near a free people settlent, how about opening a farm? Raise chickens, ducks, sheep, and cows, breed all dosticated animals and poultry available,"
Li Ming shook his head as he listened to her proposal. He negated her business idea and suggested one he believed was more feasible.
Upon hearing his words, Zhao i hesitated for a mont before returning a nod and smiling. She then explained to him the complicated food-related hurdle she needed to overco — a one hundred kilogram mutant beast’s at serving as a trade for a business license – not including the livestock breeds she intended to raise.
"After all, food is the source of life. I will provide for you in these matters. Also, secure so land to grow crops such as sweet potatoes, peanuts, sesa, soybeans, and other crops. The tender stems of these plants can serve as a food source, while also functioning as feed for the chickens and ducks; the remnants from pressing oil can also be used as feed and their feces as fertilizer. It all complents one another."
Li Ming felt very tolerant towards the special vessel’s owner, he did not mind supporting her. His face radiated an even greater happiness as he saw the progression of the proficiency panel on her system.
He felt his exhausted power from today’s training quickly regenerating, which was all thanks to Zhao i!
Realizing this, Li Ming’s eyes flashed with excitent. He never anticipated that a woman he randomly encountered during lunch would possess such a unique constitution that could potentially amplify the effectiveness of his cultivation exercises!
And what’s more, despite her not having practiced any of these esoteric teachings, she benefited along with him after his practice was done. Not only was her physical strength showing signs of rapid recovery, but also improved fortitude. Incredible!
Li Ming could only attribute this to the apocalyptic changes that the world was going through. Not only could martial arts be used to cultivate stronger and more magical powers, but even the physical bodies of ordinary people might be undergoing various transformations.
And this reason was why he gave his contact address to a woman who should have been a re passing encounter in his life.
Upon hearing the man’s firmness and his promise of support, Zhao i’s face reddened from excitent, and her eyes sparkled.
In that mont, she suddenly felt that this man, compared to the one she had unfortunately called her husband, was the one she truly belonged with!
The next mont, she breathed out a sigh and muttered softly, "Thank you..."
