Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World Chapter 70: Half-Burned
Ma Yongcheng didn’t know what Xie Ziyuan was about to do to Du Yufei. Once he gave the bird to him, he went back to find the Village Head and others.
"Yongcheng, what did you find there?" Village Head Peng wisely stopped, recognizing the bird on Ma Yongcheng’s palm as Du Yufei. The young beastman’s state was obviously wrong.
He didn’t want more people to fall into the sa state, so he stopped all of them. They all turned to Ma Yongcheng with a questioning gaze.
"This..." Ma Yongcheng also had so difficulty conveying what he had seen. "Village Head, it seems that no one has survived."
A long silence fell. Dozens of beastn stood still, trying to digest his words.
Although so people like Xiong Ye, Zhao Chuni, and a few who betrayed the fellow villagers were full of wickedness, they only felt a slight sense of loss for them, but for the other village mbers who practically had been neighbors or fellow hunter team, they couldn’t help but grieve for them.
Still, so people want to see.
"Village Head, Yongcheng only went there for a few minutes. The condition there doesn’t seem to be very good. How about letting us go too? We want to see it for ourselves."
Another one chid in, "Yes, Village Head. Ma Yongcheng might be affected by sothing there. I don’t want to believe it unless I see for myself."
They had spent a long journey toward their ho, wanting to cure their longing toward the people they were familiar with who still remained in the village.
The hope for a joyful reunion was dashed, replaced by the news of death. A separation with a bridge that was impossible to cross.
They were still in denial.
"Is it safe there, Yongcheng?" The Village Head didn’t imdiately agree. Instead, he turned to Ma Yongcheng first, his voice weak and he looked so much older in an instant.
"I don’t know about that, Village Head." He shook his head. "I just know that there are no more traces of living beings there. Based on the traces around us, there is a high possibility there are zombie beasts there."
The Village Head let out a sigh and finally decided. "It might be dangerous there. For those who want to check for yourself, go with . The rest who do not want to go, go back and stay far away."
Most of them wanted to follow the village head heading there.
They only took a few steps forward when a small bird suddenly fluttered in front of them. It morphed into a human form—Du Yufei.
"Yufei, how are you feeling?" Ma Yongcheng asked and subconsciously sniffed. He had slled sothing akin to ashes on him, but the sll was gone now.
He had only seen the front of the slaughterhouse. However, this sll of ashes was indeed suspicious. Even more so the chunks of rotten flesh scattering everywhere.
Is it like soone’s deliberate setup?
He rembered that the pair of Qi siblings were still on the loose. Was it them? He couldn’t ponder any longer and hurriedly checked on Du Yufei again, sniffing him like a dog.
"Yongcheng," Du Yufei’s annoyed voice rang out. "What are you doing? Do you want to tell your wife about what you are currently doing?"
When he heard the familiar voice, he was now fully sure this brat had recovered. "You have recovered? So fast?"
"Of course," Du Yufei nodded and didn’t explain further. He bit his lip and turned to Village Head Peng. "Village Head, I saw the slaughterhouse burned down to crisp, only leaving the front part intact."
"All the other parts are truly gone, reduced into ashes." He paused. "From the sky, the sight was much clearer. I even saw so corpses... half-burned."
Village Head Peng took a deep breath. "Human form or...?"
"Zombie beasts."
As soon as the words ca out of Du Yufei’s mouth, there was a series of yellings. "Village Head!"
The village head had staggered back. He clutched his head, feeling dizzy. His face was filled with remorse.
"Village Head, how are you feeling?" So beastn stepped forward to support him.
"I am fine." He shook off their hands, falling silent.
If they had died as zombie beasts, it was clearly a deliberate sche. Most of the beastn who stayed in the village were healthy and could stay another few months without being corrupted by pollution.
If so many people were turning into zombie beasts, soone must have deliberately plotted against them.
"Whoever it is, we must find them..." Ma Yongcheng clenched his fists.
They all knew the village head’s concern and what he was thinking, so they all consoled Village Head Peng. During their venture of finding a habitable land, he was the leader who always took risks first before he let them do sothing.
"Village Head, it’s not your fault."
Other village heads were way worse than Village Head Peng. So of them directly abandoned their village beastn and took refuge sowhere else. There were even cases where so of them disappeared without their wife or children.
"Let’s go. Don’t you all want to see?" Village Head Peng waved his hand.
Rembering the effect of the ashes, Ma Yongcheng reminded them to cover their mouth and nose with a cloth. The ashes generally had lower contamination levels and were mostly safe.
However they had been exposed to contamination coming from the half-burned zombie beast for a while, so the contamination level would rise sharply.
They all tore parts of their own clothes and covered half their faces before following Village Head Peng.
The sight of countless half burned truly astonished them all. Only the front part and a few ters of walls on either side remained standing because they were made of soil, fireproof material. The roof and the back part was truly gone, burned into crisp.
Village Head Peng touched the wall before anyone could stop him. He furrowed his brows. "It’s wet. Most likely soone had used an ice or water ability here."
"Ice ability or water ability?" They all turned to each other. The faint water mark was still visible, as if soone left it not too long there. Soot had covered most of the part of the wall, and it even washed off so dirt from there.
Most land beastn didn’t have ice or water related abilities.
They didn’t linger too long, because even the ones who voiced out their desire to visit the slaughterhouse had quieted down.
However, when they ca back, they unexpectedly t soone familiar in a house not far from the slaughterhouse.
