Lu Qingtang was digesting the pill given by Ma Yongcheng, who had gotten it from Xie Ziyuan. Of course, they didn’t receive the pill for nothing. Ma Yongcheng had promised to pay it back to him.

Xie Ziyuan didn’t mind. The pill he gave to them was of the lowest quality, but it was enough to heal Lu Qingtang’s bruised feet.

At this mont, she had taken her kids back from Lin Yu’an’s arms. The throbbing in her feet had dissipated, her energy also slowly recovering.

In order to make the pill appear less conspicuous, Leng Chuan was full of tricks. He put the pill in his water pouch. To be honest, when they found out Xie Ziyuan had pills, they were surprised, but they controlled their expressions well.

Not to ntion about the scarce food, pills were like a myth to them, only existing in legends. It was the first ti they had seen one. Yet, they didn’t hesitate about its authenticity.

After Lu Qingtang recovered, they followed Ma Yongcheng and Leng Chuan to catch the villains.

"Are you trying to run?" Zhao Chuni used this chance while Ma Yongcheng wasn’t present to lunge at Lu Qingtang.

Unfortunately, although she had a delicate appearance, Lu Qingtang wasn’t a pushover. She pulled her kids out of harm’s way and kicked Zhao Chuni away.

The female beastman fell a few ters away, bruises covering her skin. The stinging wound imdiately made Zhai Chuni start to wail again, sounding incredibly tragic.

Lu Qingtang snorted and hurriedly walked away holding her two kids. The relief from her husband’s safe return made her shed away all the despondency, going back to her spirited self.

The crowd of beastn followed them. Xie Ziyuan was leading in the front, sowhat relaxed but his steps were surprisingly fast. They almost couldn’t catch up if not for occasional sprinting.

Soon, they arrived.

Ma Yongcheng and Leng Chuan were grabbing two thin beastn each, grabbing two agile monkey beastn. The two were letting out wronged screeches.

"Let go of , you dog. Why are you capturing innocent people?!" The beastman shrieked indignantly. When he saw a crowd of people, he acted like he had seen a savior. "Help, help! This feral dog is indiscriminately hurting people!"

Ma Yongcheng’s grip was very strong, almost breaking the monkey’s hairy hands. The pain nearly made him pass out. No matter how the monkey beastman thrashed or kicked, he didn’t budge in the slightest.

The monkey beastman in Leng Chuan’s grip didn’t fare much better either. His arms were already broken. He had a terrified look on his face, much smarter than his loud companion. Clearly, he understood why people had gathered.

"All the beastn already present, huh?" Ma Yongcheng raised his eyebrows, his gaze sweeping over to his mortal enemy and Zhao Chuni.

"Elder Peng and all the beastn present. I will present you with proof that Tang’er is absolutely innocent." His voice was loud and firm. He locked his eyes with Lu Qingtang in a fleeting gaze, which seed to speak countless words in a split second.

"These people are trying to wash the dark bloodstains from their hands. You all surely understand the implication, right?" Ma Yongcheng dragged the monkey beastman toward the nearest bushes and parted it.

In an instant, the people closest slled a nauseating stench. They also saw so dark stains on the ground, coating the grass.

"The culprit of the fallen beasts’ cases are them." Leng Chuan announced loudly. "If you had punished Lu Qingtang, you would have gotten the wrong person while the true mastermind remains free."

"If the true mastermind isn’t captured, what are you going to do if you beco the next target?" Leng Chuan added.

His words struck a chord with everyone present. The pollution from unknown substances was a pressing matter for anyone living in an area with a high contamination level.

There was no lack of fallen beasts in the past few years. Every few months, there was always soone turning into a fallen beast. They had no choice but to kill the fallen beasts...

Everyone was scared they would wake up as a fallen beast the next day. But... What if soone deliberately plotted against them? It was sothing that was hard to guard against.

"You are lying!" Zhao Chuni wasn’t about to let her plan fail. She dragged her bruised body through the crowd, pointing at Leng Chuan. "What an outsider like you would know? Maybe it’s you who is deliberately framing people."

Leng Chuan, who was still feeling sullen over his missing siblings, sneered at Zhao Chuni’s words. "Where did we get such zombie blood? Do you think we already know that you are going to fra people before we enter the village? If we have such an item, why don’t you sll it from us?"

He explained it so logically that Zhao Chunu didn’t know how to refute it for the ti being.

Luckily, although he had gotten sared by zombie blood, he had cleaned it thoroughly thanks to his water ability. The sll was very faint, unlike the monkey beastn who still had an obvious sll on them.

Even Zhao Chuni had a faint sll on her, showing just how potent the zombie blood was. She was probably ignorant that she could get infected, still protecting the wooden box as she fell earlier.

The beastn were swayed by Leng Chuan’s words.

"This is a serious matter." Elder Peng suddenly spoke, his face grave. "We should investigate this."

"Right, we should investigate the source," Xie Ziyuan just said casually, but his words gave Leng Chuan an idea.

"Where is the source of the zombie blood?" Ma Yongcheng asked thoughtfully. He shifted his gaze to Zhao Chuni. "Oh, holding a wooden box filled with zombie blood might turn you into a fallen beast too. Look at its outer part. There are faint black spots..."

At this mont, Zhao Chuni could no longer hold the box steadily. She staggered and the box fell into the ground. A bottle of black blood fell out and shattered.

The nearby beastn hurriedly retreated away from her.

Leng Chuan ignored Zhao Chuni’s pale and horrified expression. He analyzed the blood. "It’s still fresh. Most likely just recently drawn from the zombie."

His eyes swept over everyone present. "How about we check that place over there?" He pointed to a house. There was so presence there...

"Let’s go there." Ma Yongcheng imdiately agreed.

It was the place where they held the fallen beasts before they were killed in a few days as the last consideration, an act of rcy.

However, Zhao Chuni didn’t agree. She shrieked. "No, don’t go there!"

"So, there is really sothing there." Ma Yongcheng smirked cunningly.
