Xiao Lei had hidden itself quite well, running away with Su Yining’s phone as soon as Su Jinghe entered the kitchen with the Yun family’s twins.

Its speed was like lightning. The three were unaware of its presence until now.

"Don’t touch it," Yun Tianheng stood up and took the cat from his sister’s lap.

Su Jinghe imdiately explained to the bewildered Su Yining, "Tianyao is allergic to cat fur."

After he said that, he pursed his lips. It was obvious he had blad himself a little for forgetting to remind them about Xiao Lei’s existence.

Yun Tianyao stared at the kitten who was wriggling its limbs in Yun Tianheng’s hand. It even owed angrily and tried to claw at him.

"Just let him down..." she told her twin brother.

From her gaze, it was clear she liked cats but was unfortunate enough not to be able to hold them. Soon, she sneezed after she said these words.

"If I let the cat down, it might jump on you again," Yun Tianheng said in disapproval.

Su Yining felt a little awkward. She walked to him, "Just give the cat to . I will take care of it."

Yun Tianheng turned to her. He didn’t imdiately give the cat. Instead, he pinched the bridge of his nose and asked, "Yining, why don’t you put this cat in the cage temporarily?"

She froze when she heard that. Xiao Lei, who understood their words, imdiately thrashed in Yun Tianheng’s hand and even intended to bite him.

Luckily, Su Yining was quick enough to snatch Xiao Lei from Yun Tiangheng’s hand, taking a few steps back.

"There is no cage, but Xiao Lei is smart and it won’t make trouble," she told him, pursing her lips.

"Brother, it’s fine." Yun Tianyao awkwardly called out, snapping Yun Tianheng from his daze. "Sorry, Yining."

After he realized what he had done, Yun Tianheng also apologized to her. "Yining, I am sorry. I was too worried about Yao’er and treated your cat like that..."

"Just don’t do that next ti," she reminded him, not intending to just brush off the matter.

Yun Tianheng solemnly nodded. "Yes, of course. I am really sorry. I will compensate it to your cat later..."

Su Jinghe also didn’t expect that the matter would escalate into a small conflict, and he hurriedly smooths things between them. First, he apologized to Yun Tianyao before he checked up on Xiao Lei and Su Yining.

"It’s fine." Yun Tianyao shook her head. "It just jumped on my lap. I didn’t touch its fur."

Su Yining brought Xiao Lei to the kitchen and poured it a bowl of various dishes, letting it eat to its relish. She also didn’t want them to know about Xiao Lei’s unusually high appetite.

When she went back, the atmosphere had returned back to how it was before Xiao Lei ca to them. Or at least, that was how they tried to create a similar atmosphere.

They stayed for another hour before they left. Su Yining packed them so dishes and sent them off, feeling exhausted and drained.

As she lay down on her sofa, Xiao Lei ca owing. It lay on her stomach and kneaded on her.

She sighed and snatched her phone. Yuanyuan was resting after he brought the second batch of beastn. He would continue in the morning.

"Ziyuan, tell about yourself," she said, looking for any topic she could talk about with him.

Xie Ziyuan raised his eyebrows when he saw this. "What do you want to know?"

"How about you tell about your origins? How co you are so powerful?" She poked him in the cheek. Then, she rembered about Xiao Lei’s antics.

She cleared her throat and asked again, "What happened before I ca here...?"

He didn’t imdiately answer the first question. "You knocked over all of the fierce beasts we were about to hunt... or was it not you?"

"It wasn’t ," she admitted. "It was Xiao Lei’s doing. Well, you know cats are sotis playful and can’t control themselves when they see sothing moving..."

"As expected, it wasn’t you."

"You know it wasn’t ?" She asked in surprise.

"You wouldn’t knock our gas like that." He nodded.

Because... it was too childish. Only sothing like a demonic kitten would do that.

Su Yining clicked her tongue, a little proud. Even Yuanyuan could recognize it wasn’t her!

Soon, the topic shifted slightly to the moat and his plan with the base’s strongest beastn. "I am going to lead them into the dangerous zone in two days. I will also try to find water."

She was a little worried and didn’t forget to remind him. "Be careful."

There was no quest related to his plan, unfortunately. Is it because she currently has two quests which aren’t yet completed? She would wait. Perhaps, it will appear soon.

It would be a pity for such a good occasion not to have any quest popping up.

"Are you still curious about my origins?" Xie Ziyuan finally asked her about the question she almost forgot.

"Of course, but if you don’t want to tell , it’s okay!" She said generously.

Xie Ziyuan curled the corners of his lip when he saw this. "I have lived even before the apocalypse started, and so, I am the snake tribe’s oldest living snake beastman. Do you believe it? I can be considered as their ancestor."

She blinked. Oh, she almost forgot about this. If Yuanyuan had lived before the apocalypse, wouldn’t that make him an old man? She giggled at the thought.

"So, are you older than ? Should I call you old man?" She teased him playfully.

Xie Ziyuan twitched his mouth, a little helpless. "I am still young..."

"Sure, sure, you still look young," she assured.

Before they knew it, days passed and it was the day that Xie Ziyuan led the most powerful beastn from the base for training. He brought more than forty people.

Such a group with so many beastn would inevitably attract the attention of fierce beasts.

Not long after they left the base, they were already surrounded.
