The mont Zhou Yunhan woke up, it was already dark. A panic enveloped his whole being when he saw that it was all dark.

"ilin? Where are you?" He shouted in a hoarse voice, letting out a hiss when a wave of pain wrecked his body.

At least he isn’t dead, he thought.

He frowned, feeling puzzled. Why did he pass out at such an unfortunate mont? Even if his injuries were quite bad, it wasn’t to the point where he would lose his consciousness.

Zhou Yunhan clutched his head. There was a creak, the sound of the door opening. He whipped his head toward the source, noticing a rather old male beastman standing on the door.

"Who are you?" He barked warily.

Once the person stepped inside, bringing a latern made of so animal parts, he could finally see the man’s face. He instinctively blurted, "Wei Hao?"

"Oh, you know ?" Wei Hao raised his eyebrows.

Zhou Yunhan clutched his head again as another deep searing pain whipped his head. Yes... how does he know this person’s na? His na was also sowhat familiar to Wei Rong...

Once the old beastman got closer, he realized that he indeed was similar to a beastman from the big cat family—although Zhou Yunhan himself admitted he was also one.

The color Wei Hao’s ears and fur were sowhat similar to Wei Rong, making him even convinced they were sowhat related.

Zhou Yunhan frowned. "Are you Wei Rong’s father?"

"Wei Rong..." Wei Hao murmured dazedly, not replying to his question for a long ti.

"From his tone, you seem to know Wei Rong even if you are not his father." He muttered in annoyance. A mont later, he scolded himself when he realized he had actually forgotten about Fang ilin. He hadn’t seen her anywhere!

"Where is Fang ilin?" He raised his voice, almost jumping from his bed.

"ilin..." Wei Hao frowned, his voice fell into a whisper.

Zhou Yunhan almost lost his patience. Why does this old man acting so strange? He almost grabbed his neck if not for Wei Hao’s next words.

"She is outside." Wei Hao quickly snapped out of his daze.

Before Zhou Yunhan could rush out to find her, Wei Hao clutched his hand roughly and asked in an interrogative tone. "How do you know , young one? Have we t before?"

Seeing Wei Hao from up close, his wrinkles even look more pronounced, but he wasn’t actually that old.

"Are you from Qingluan City?" Zhou Yunhan tried to make a guess.

This city was embroiled in mystery. He wondered whether he had lost his mory there.

The feeling as if he couldn’t stand under the sa sky as Wei Rong was almost unbearable sotis. That leopard also admitted he was from Qingluan City. On top of that, there was also Fang ilin.

It seed that all of the mystery stemd from there.

"I was..." the old beastman stopped himself. He frowned before he abruptly let go of Zhou Yunhan’s hand. The latter didn’t hesitate to rush out anymore.

He t Fang ilin as soon as he was outside the room.

"How are you feeling?" They asked at the sa ti.

The two of them froze, staring at each other with wide eyes before they diverted their eyes one by one, feeling embarrassed.

Not long after, a low cough interrupted them.

Wei Hao stared at Fang ilin briefly, then he turned to look at Zhou Yunhan, his frown deepening.

Zhou Yunhan ignored him, snapping back to his senses and asked Fang ilin nervously, "How are you feeling, ilin?"

He tried to examine her face and skin for any sign of poisoning.

Fang ilin shook her head, glancing at Wei Hao briefly before answering. Her eyes flashed. "I am fine, Yunhan, don’t worry about ."

She put the bowl down and approached him instead. "How are you feeling? Why did you suddenly faint? It gave quite a scare."

As soon as she finished dealing with the poisonous frog, she was frightened when she saw the unconscious Zhou Yunhan. She didn’t see any other fierce beast nearby that could knock him out like that.

Unfortunately, she also had been hit by the poisonous frog and her consciousness was gradually slipping. The poison from a second-order fierce beast wouldn’t kill her, but her body still needed to digest it.

In deep regret, she could only watch as everything in sight beca dark, feeling extre regret...

She couldn’t save him.

Yet, as if the heavens above still favor both of them, she woke up finding herself in a thatched hut, feeling frightened and filled with panic.

The trauma from a long ti ago surfaced, causing her to have difficulty breathing. The mont she saw Wei Hao, she even nearly strangled him.

Fortunately, she had just woken up and her grip was weak. On top of that, Wei Hao was a powerful beastman; her grip could only tickle him, but he was also startled.

A wave of complication flashed in Fang ilin’s eyes after she released him.

Only then did she snap to her senses when she realized sothing. She distanced herself from him, apologizing and thanking him before asking about Zhou Yunhan.

"You two are alright," Wei Hao cut off the affectionate young beastn in front of him, his tone sowhat grim.

He swept his gaze to Zhou Yunhan, "I heard you two are a couple?"

The black panther was stunned, and he instinctively turned to Fang ilin. The latter looked flustered, not expecting Wei Hao to be so blunt with her words.

Her chest and head felt uncomfortable as his stare was fixed on her.

Zhou Yunhan could feel that Fang ilin was in extre discomfort right now. He beca displeased with this Wei Hao and moved to shield her from the old beastman’s insolent eyes.

"Yes, is it a problem for you?" Zhou Yunhan’s gaze was sharp.

Wei Hao clicked his tongue. "I saved you both. How ungrateful."

Fang ilin, still embarrassed and didn’t know what to say, tugged on Zhou Yunhan’s sleeve before shaking her head.

She shrank slightly when she saw Wei Hao’s deep eyes were still fixated on her. Previously, she had tried to act brave for Zhou Yunhan’s sake because he was still unconscious. Now, seeing soone on her side, she couldn’t pretend anymore.

Wei Hao turned to Fang ilin. "Why do I feel as if you know , young female?"
