"When?" Zerra silently sighed in her heart. It was also an event that she couldn’t avoid.
No matter how she struggled that she didn’t want to go to her grandma’s house, fate was so creative in finding ways to drag her there. So scenarios sotis didn’t even make sense. She had kicked up a fuss, refusing to go to her grandma’s house despite Nerith’s insistence. The woman relented, but the result?
In the Sylvaris family mansion that had tight security, so kidnappers were so ’lucky’ to be able to steal her. The next day, the kidnappers were found, and she was escorted to the nearest relative, which was her grandma.
Later, she found out that it was Nerith’s doing. She was truly too obsessed with getting grandma’s approval and used her. Ever since Nyra ca back and obtained grandma’s favor, she always tried to guide Zerra to steal that favor from Nyra and beca her favorite granddaughter.
"In two days," Nerith muttered, and then she began to give suggestions to her daughter. "Don’t speak too loudly in front of your grandma; be an obedient child. If she is thirsty, make tea for her. Rember it. A tea, not milk like last ti–"
Zerra only listened to the first sentence of her mother. A slight annoyance grew in her heart, but she suppressed it. Her mind already wandered off as soon as Nerith started to chatter on.
She was thinking about how to obtain more supplies in such a short amount of ti. Luckily, as the favorite daughter, her pocket money was the highest among all Alaric’s children. So, today she went out again and bought so items from the supermarket in moderate quantities that wouldn’t make them suspicious.
She also ordered similar items online and asked them to be ordered to her private house in the city.
"Send to my private house," Zerra ordered the driver. Her parents might be suspicious if the housekeeper reported grains delivered to the house. Well, it didn’t matter, anyway. She could use the argunt she had originally intended to use in case Cassias found out the truth to her parents.
Nyra was reborn a year before the apocalypse, exactly half a month after she ca back to the Sylvaris family. Besides that jade bracelet, she also had inner space. anwhile, Cassias also possessed inner space, but he was reborn less than a month before the apocalypse.
She put all the grains in the warehouse to her space rings, dividing it evenly. Then, the sanitary items, basic dicine, and the snacks she just purchased. Luckily, her previous reputation with weird ideas and strange temper wouldn’t make the driver find it too odd.
Too bad that she couldn’t move too freely, like Nyra did. Nerith always made sure that the driver, who was also a skilled bodyguard in martial arts, followed her whenever she went out.
After the items arrived, she stuffed those things into her space rings. Those two artifacts were also very convenient because they could change size according to the wearer’s finger.
"Zee, where are you?" Nerith called her upon noticing that her daughter had been outside for too long.
"I am at the private house, Mom..." her mind spun. "Cassias is here. I will talk to you later."
After that, she hung up the phone. Of course, Cassias wasn’t here, but it was an acceptable excuse. Her mother wouldn’t nag her too much if she knew she was with Cassias.
Just as she expected. Her mother switched to texting her in order to continue communicating. She assured her that she was really with Cassias before she went out again. This ti, she went to the pharmacy and used the Sylvaris family’s na to buy dicine in large quantities.
Well, she swept away all the available dicine there and asked them to deliver it to her private house. She went to several pharmacies.
Her private house was too big, anyway. Even if so people doubted whether she really wanted to open a pharmacy there, they had to believe her.
Did she consider telling her parents about the incoming apocalypse? Well, she did. The result wasn’t good. Their ending was worse. Supplies couldn’t even save them.
In so reincarnations, they dismissed her. In other cases, they were still doubtful, but still went along with whatever her plan was, indulging her. The effect was devastating. Her parents died under the sche of others because their secret underground warehouse filled with supplies was leaked.
Those people with superpowers tortured them until they died, believing that they still had more secret warehouses sowhere. Of course, they had told the truth, telling those greedy people all the available warehouses.
Another strange case by the fate’s machination, they achieved so sort of strange power like commanding zombies or having their blood immune to zombie virus. In the end, they beca research subjects in the Research Institute.
"You can go back," Zerra told her driver. "I am going to spend the night here."
She made sure that the driver really went back. Wiping her sweat and fanning herself, she entered the gate of the house, stopping when she heard the ringing of her phone.
"Mom, does sothing matter? I already told you that I am going to spend the night in the private house," Zerra said as soon as she picked up the call and scrunched her nose.
"Zee, where are you right now? Cassias said that he is not with you." Nerith demanded sternly, and she could already imagine that stern-looking face.
Zerra’s heart beating erratically against her ribcage. "Mom..."
Suddenly, her phone was snatched from her grip. She jolted.
"Aunt, don’t worry, I am already here. Earlier, Zerra hadn’t invited yet. That’s why I was a bit confused..." With that devilishly handso face, Cassias lied without batting an eye.
She looked at the man in front of him in shock, wondering his motive for coming here. Had he found out that the grains ended up in her pocket instead of Nyra and he was going to make her spit them out?
Cassias calmly handed the phone back to her. She stiffly accepted it, gripping it tightly. With just a few words, he managed to convince her controlling mother to let her stay overnight at the private house.
"What are you doing here?" She blurted out.
Cassias raised his eyebrows. "I think I forgot that I have an appointnt with you. Now, I have co to fulfill it."
Her pupils dilated. "Mom called you to check?"
He didn’t answer, only looking at her with a smile. It made her touch her nose in embarrassnt and inwardly sigh. Having no other choice, she invited him in.
In the living room, he sat down and took the book from the table, reading it with his elegant and noble deanor. Zerra waited with inexplicable feeling, anticipating his next words to demand the return of the grains.
Honestly, she had such grains in her inner space too, but that place was still locked. She could only see, unable to take or store anything in it. On the other hand, she would be sepZeeted from her parents at the beginning of the apocalypse, so she planned to return the grains in the future.
"Do you want to drink sothing?" She asked. "Your usual tea?"
After saying this, she frowned, as if taken aback by herself. However, Cassias’s face was normal, and it made her feel her uneasiness faded away. She had seen Li Jinzhe drink tea so much in the apocalypse, and it almost made her give away sothing she shouldn’t know yet.
In her setting, although she liked Cassias, she was a self-centered person who rarely paid attention to others.
Seeing him nodded, she went to the kitchen. However, as she just passed the kitchen door, sothing unexpected happened.
She felt dizzy and closed her eyes. After she opened them again, she watched as the cabinet, the refrigerator, and all the things in the kitchen beca so enormous in her eyes.
No, it wasn’t those things that had turned big, but... she gazed at her snow white fur.
Damn, this wasn’t supposed to be in the script! How co she turned into a fox?
"Zerra? Are you alright? You have been in the kitchen for a while." Cassias’s voice rang into the kitchen. Followed by a sound of footsteps.
Zerra panicked.
