"You... you!" The middle-aged man gasped. He looked as if he had seen a huge monster instead of several humans walking through the door.

Anita widened her eyes, and she didn’t hesitate to back away, searching for an exit. Alas, Norman was quicker.

He appeared in front of her in seconds. His fingers grasped her neck. The girl choked and struggled. She tried to speak, yet no words ca out.

Her eyes bulged out, and despair appeared in them.

Norman stuffed sothing into her mouth, slamd her toward the floor, and then stomped on her back. He broke several bones in one kick.

Zerra’s group didn’t even need to act. Well, except for Nerith who had used her illusion to catch them off guard, thereby making them montarily lose sense with reality.

By the ti they snapped back to their senses, Mateo’s group already had them under control.

Norman didn’t want to easily let go of Anita. Hence, he had requested Zerra to give him a poisonous pill. He wanted to torture her slowly.

The commotion also caught the attention of other base leaders. However, when others entered the room, they only saw a badly mangled corpse and blood pooling on the floor.

Several scenes happened in a few other places. In an instant, panic enveloped the whole base. The remaining base leaders were also shaking in fear, and it took a long ti for them before they cald down.

Several days later, no new deaths were reported. However, their base’s power had gone down significantly weaker.

Zerra’s group wasn’t planning on stopping at any base this ti. They would head to the Capital City directly. anwhile, for a week, Norman had been holding Anita hostage, torturing her.

Mateo’s group was driving in another car, and they also kept Anita on a tight leash so that her presence wouldn’t bother the rest of the group.

Out of concern, she still gave a suggestion to Norman. "Don’t keep her for too long. It’s unknown what this girl might be planning. The apocalypse is unpredictable."

Although she could guarantee that she was the only one who had the antidote, there were all sorts of mutations and bizarre things in the apocalypse.

Anita might mutate like Serena, achieving a body which was immune to poison or all sorts of other variables. Norman pursed his lips, but he slowly nodded and thanked her.

The man had beco much more gloomy, and everyone could see that he still hadn’t let go of his grief.

After she said her piece, Zerra didn’t say anything more.

Another month passed, and finally, they encountered another base. This one seed decent. The base leader was a powerful user with a family full of ordinary people.

Hence, the base still treated ordinary people like humans, unlike other places.

Zerra and others stayed for one night, and unfortunately, it was also the ti for them to part with Mateo and his two mbers.

There was a look of reluctance on Mateo and the other two’s faces, however, unfortunately, no matter how much the three wanted to follow Zerra, they couldn’t bring them along.

"Be careful and take care," Zerra mumbled. She glanced at the gloomy Norman, and they parted ways.

She still found a chance to talk to Mateo. "Keep watch on Norman and Anita."

Mateo nodded seriously, also realizing that his friend’s ntal state was getting worse.

With that, she went back to the car, getting inside with Cassias, Azir, and her parents. Now, there were only five of them.

The next journey was more perilous than they thought. They were held up by a lot of things, such as an endless zombie horde which forced them to turn away and take another path or several space tears.

Zerra could feel the latter vividly that she imdiately told Cassias who was driving to turn around before they were swallowed by the spatial rift.

He must have sensed it too, but she could imdiately determine what the danger was from the zombie which was swallowed by it.

They ended up passing by the path near an ocean. Zerra couldn’t help but recall the whale which had helped them and wondered how it was doing now.

"Are we going to camp here?" Azir asked, already understanding the group’s pattern.

Once a few days, if they determined that they had arrived in a relatively safe area, they would stop and camp there. Cassias was more powerful than ordinary ability users and he could drive a few days straight without rest.

The only ti he would stop was when they took a rest. He would sleep, and others kept watch. They also had a brief ti to clean themselves.

Zerra scanned the surroundings and nodded. "This area should be relatively safe."

Soon, Cassias stopped the car and they all got out to catch so fresh air. Azir imdiately sat on the sandy ground, looking at the blue sea with so amazent.

"Can I go there?" He asked Zerra with a hopeful look on his face. Although he was finally able to leave his tribe, his desire to explore still remained high.

It was Cassias who answered him. "Don’t wander too far."

Azir nodded, and he cautiously looked around for any sign of a zombie that might jump at him any mont before he headed to the sea.

Zerra, Cassias, and the parents set up their tents. Once they were done, Nerith imdiately told Cassias, "you must be tired, go to sleep to get so rest."

The dragon didn’t refuse. He slipped into the tent, and when Zerra wanted to help her parents to cook, they imdiately sent her away to rest.

Zerra happily shifted to her fox form and lounged around in the sandy ground, staring at the boundless blue sea. She was watching over Azir to make sure that he wouldn’t make trouble.

However, soon, she noticed the boy running back with sothing in his hand.

A cute gray otter, and it was also injured. Since Azir’s wood power was more focused on growing plants, he couldn’t heal it completely. Hence, he dumped the otter to Zerra.

"Can you heal it? It looks so pitiful."

Zerra could see that the otter was a little dazed, but it was awake. Soon, they saw a very human-like expression on its face.

Her heart suddenly palpitated, and her rich emotions made her suddenly turn back to her human form, much to the otter’s shock and fright.

Zerra snatched the otter from Azir’s hand, and her breathing quickened. Isn’t this her stinky brother Laziel. How did he suddenly end up here?!
