"There is a copy of the map inside, Miss Zerra. I even added so marks on nearby bases based on the outer tribe mber’s experience." The Tribe Leader’s wife smiled at her.
"Thank you." Zerra nodded earnestly.
"We want to send our inner mber because of my power." The Tribe Leader’s wife began. "I have the power to see the future through dreams. The dreams are mostly vague and we have to interpret it ourselves."
Zerra lifted her eyebrows. She had heard about people awakening elental powers, but she never heard of anyone having such a unique ability. "You awakened the ability to see the future?"
In a sense, it was similar to her reincarnation mories; she could see how things would end up. The endings were also impossible to change. No matter how things turned out, they always had the sa ending; only the process was different.
Until in this life where the plot had beco awry.
"It’s not related to the apocalypse’s ability awakening." The Tribe Leader shook his head. "In every generation, our inner tribe will have a female mber who possesses this power."
"That’s right." His wife nodded. "In this generation, it falls on . Miss Zerra, you must already know from Jasmine that we have mostly prepared for the apocalypse; we are able to preserve most of our strength. It’s mainly also related to my ability."
"I have received the prophetic dream before where disasters would strike everywhere, catching humanity off guard. So, we prepared ourselves beforehand, stocking necessities."
Zerra was actually a little shocked when she heard the Tribe Leader and his wife’s confession. In this mortal world, there was actually such a thing. But, she also quickly accepted it.
There were many people in the Celestial Realm who were also capable of predicting the future. The results were like the Tribe Leader just said, vague. Most of them would only understand what the hint ant after the event happened.
The Tribe Leader’s wife was really a talented person.
"Can you predict things at will?" She asked with curiosity.
A wry smile painted the Tribe Leader’s wife’s face. She shook her head. "The prophetic dreams were mostly random, but they are always important."
Zerra thought about it for a mont and asked seriously. "So, what did you see in your dream regarding the boy you asked to bring?"
The Tribe Leader’s wife glanced at her husband before she turned to Zerra again. "I see him sowhere... it’s not the area around our place."
Zerra was taken aback. It turned out because of sothing so vague?
They seed to sense her confusion and explained. "The dream ca right before you asked for the map to us, Miss Zerra."
So, they think that it ant she should bring him out of the inner tribe? However, since she already received the map, she wouldn’t go back on her word.
The Tribe Leader and his wife’s faces were filled with smiles when they heard Zerra agreeing.
"Call Azir here." The Tribe Leader’s wife ordered.
"Azir has a relative outside, Miss Zerra. They might still be alive." Her tone was a little strange when she said this, containing so regret.
Zerra keenly sensed there was more story into this. She already guessed most of it. Since they were a tribe who mostly blocked contacts from the outside world, it must have been a tragic love story.
Soone ca back bringing a boy who looked to be around fifteen years old. He had a dejected and stubborn look on his face. Seeing this, Zerra suddenly had an ominous premonition.
Could it be that the boy was unwilling? She had never considered this.
For soone who had lived his whole life inside a small community like this tribe, indeed, living outside of the broader society would seem daunting.
"Azir, greet Miss Zerra."
Azir pursed his lips, eyeing Zerra with unwillingness. However, since it was the Tribe Leader’s wife who had told him to do that, he gave Zerra a forced smile and greeted her. "Greetings, Miss Zerra. I am Azir."
"Good, good." The Tribe Leader’s wife praised and stroked the boy’s hair. She turned to Zerra. "When will you leave, Miss Zerra? I will prepare everything for Azir."
Actually, Zerra could see that even the Tribe Leader and his wife seed reluctant to let Azir part ways with them. Alas, they believed the prophetic dream a lot.
Still, it wasn’t her place to judge them either. She also didn’t know if the dream was really true or not.
"I might leave in two days." She decided she didn’t want to stay in this tribe for too long.
They chatted for a bit more before she excused herself. She could feel Azir’s apprehensive eyes toward her.
When she returned, she t Jasmine again.
"You just returned from the Tribe Leader’s place?" She asked. "Did you get the map?"
Zerra nodded. "I have received the map."
Jasmine bit her lip. "Are you going to leave?"
They couldn’t really say that they were friends, but they had indeed gone through so difficult tis together. Jasmine also reflected on herself a lot during this ti.
Zerra decided to tell her the truth. Jasmine looked sowhat disappointed.
"Just you alone...?" She trailed off.
"Yes." Zerra nodded.
She could only swallow her words back. "Then, be careful."
"I will."
The news of her leaving the inner tribe sohow reached Gideon and his students too. Will was the most surprised. As Zerra was feeding her parents the dicine she had made, they ca to find her.
She quickly stuffed her parents back to the inner space.
"Zerra, I heard that you are leaving?" Will had an indescribable expression on his face. "Going back to the capital?"
She nodded. "I can’t stay here for too long."
"But... there’s only you alone?" He paused. "Oh, I heard that soone from the inner tribe will also follow you. Isn’t it still dangerous with just the two of you?"
"Yes, it might be dangerous, but I need to go back. My family should be worried about ." Zerra replied.
When it ca to the topic of family, even Will fell silent. He could only give advice to her. "Take care of yourself then. I will wish you a safe journey. Be careful of these insidious folks too!"
She instantly knew who he was referring to. Cracking a smile, she nodded. "You take care of yourself and your teacher too."
On the second day, Gideon invited Zerra and his other students. They intended to give Zerra their map, but she refused. She already had one, so she couldn’t take theirs.
"Since you already have a map, we will tell you about our experience on the nearby track. It might be of help to you." Gideon shook his head. "Unfortunately, we still have sothing to do and can’t accompany you."
He and his other students had tried to persuade Zerra, but she was stubborn and unwilling to change her mind. They didn’t have a choice but to help her with whatever they knew.
Zerra still listened attentively. She didn’t refuse when they gave her so mutated beast repellant.
The next day, she went to pick Azir at the Tribe Leader’s house.
The little boy had a huge backpack, so Zerra offered to store them inside her inner space. It also ant he could bring more items. He looked unwilling, but seeing the Tribe Leader’s enthusiastic response, he could ’t refuse.
"I will bring the bag with ." He muttered, not willing to have nothing on his person. They agreed.
When they ca out, a few inner tribe mbers gathered at the Tribe Leader’s place to send them off. So of the people didn’t hesitate to shove the result of their harvest to Zerra and Azir, making them feel a bit overwheld.
Zerra could only stuff the harvest inside her inner space, keeping them for Azir. The inner tribe mbers were most likely worried about how a little boy who hadn’t reached adulthood like him would fare outside.
"Are you nervous?" She asked him. They had been walking for so ti in silence, already exiting the inner tribe’s village area.
Azir pursed his lips. "I am."
He did bla Zerra a little, but he knew it wasn’t really her fault they wanted him to leave the inner tribe. He hid the emotion in his eyes.
After his father went back to the city, he never returned. His mother ultimately passed away when he was ten. Everyone believed that he had abandoned his mother.
How could soone who had lived with a lot of entertainnt from the society outside could stand living a boring life with them? He might have thought living in nature as a novel experience at first, but his interest was also short-lived.
He didn’t have a good impression of people from the outside world.
"Have you t a tiger before?" Zerra suddenly asked. Since they lived in the forest, they might occasionally et one, right?
"Yes..." Azir was confused at her sudden question, but he still nodded. "I have seen so uncles dealing with a tiger. Why do you–"
His eyes widened in fright. A gigantic tiger appeared in front of them!
Before he could react, the tiger had bitten his shirt collar and flung him into the air. He fell to the tiger’s back, sitting behind Zerra.
Amidst his frightened face, they raced toward the nearest base.
