Zerra’s heart was in trouble, yet she found herself nodding before she could stop it. A little horrified, she lifted her head to et Cassias’ smiling expression.
Ever since she t him in his child form, when did he ever smile? It was probably the first ti she saw that face, whose hint of childishness hadn’t completely faded yet, had a contented look on it.
She fell silent. She didn’t have the heart to refuse him.
Anyway, once she figured out the knot in Cassias’ heart... it wouldn’t matter anymore.
When she saw his expression again, sothing tugged at her heart. She really wanted to know what had happened to him, but she also didn’t want to reopen his wounds.
Now with only the two of them in the room, the tough look he showed in front of these cubs vanished, revealing a hint of vulnerability.
In the end, he was just a cub.
"Sleep, little fox." He snatched her from the chair as soon as they finished dinner and brought her to his room.
There was a simple single bed, but it was neatly arranged. She perked up her ears, staring at him in puzzlent. As if sensing her confusion, he explained. "You sleep here. I will go to the chair outside."
She felt a little bad, but it also would be awkward if they slept in the sa room. Still, she chased and barreled toward him.
"No, Cassias, I will sleep here." She bit his lower clothing, trying to drag him toward the room.
As such, the competition between two stubborn cubs ensued. Little Cassias continued to toss her into the bed while she always ran away and insisted on dragging him back.
Zerra thought about it for a mont. She decided it shouldn’t hurt even if she showed the items from her inner space here. Thus, she pulled out a soft pillow and showed it to Cassias.
"I will sleep here." She bit the pillow and dragged it toward the chair. With that, she lay on it and pretended to sleep.
Little Cassias threw a stunned look, and he scratched the back of his head. Knowing that Zerra was actually pretending to be asleep, he opened his mouth. "You have awakened your inner space, little... fox?"
He stopped himself, frowning. "What is your na? You haven’t told yet."
She lifted her head, her little face all scrunched up. Would it be alright if she told him her real na? She guessed it should. "You can call Zerra."
"Zee..." he bit his lip. "Zizi?"
Her head snapped toward him, eyes wide. "What did you just say?"
"Zizi?" He had an unsure look on his face.
Zerra let out a breath. "Fine... you can call that. But you know my real na, right?"
He nodded. "Zerra... but it’s easier to call you Zizi."
The minor dispute between them was settled like that. He was finally willing to sleep in his own room.
Zerra wasn’t sure whether he could fall asleep, but she was pretty sure she couldn’t! The nickna he had given her kept ringing in her ears.
Zizi?
When Cassias hadn’t found out that the fox was her, he had already given her that nickna. She also rembered he once told her he had a fox...
Did she take over that fox’s body? The fox he was talking about? Then, he was referring to a friend, not a pet!
She must have reminded him of his fox friend, right? Her heart felt a bit uncomfortable at that. He wouldn’t think of her as soone else’s substitute, would he? But why did he give her the na of his fox friend...
The thoughts kept her awake for the entire night. When it was already morning, she had gotten less than two hours of sleep.
She had to admit that now her eyes looked bloodshot red. Seeing such a condition in eyes, she sighed. It must have been because she spent too much ti in the human realm. Even the sleeping habit had been ingrained in her bones.
As a celestial, one night without sleep should have been nothing, but she strangely felt lethargic, even in a world inside soone else’s mories.
"Little... Zizi," Cassias called out as he erged from the bathroom. "What’s wrong with you?"
"I am fine." She waved it off after taking a few drops of spring water from her space and used them on her eyes. They were now slowly recovering.
It was also a little odd how she could withdraw things from her space, right? She tilted her head, falling deep in thought. Her real body currently should be above a whale.
"What are you going to do today, Kaz?" She asked.
"I am planning to make vegetable soup again for breakfast," Cassias studied her face as he said this.
Zerra nodded, not minding the sa nu as last night. He heaved a sigh of relief when he saw this. Thus, he continued, "After that, I will try to plant so vegetables and fruits."
Her eyes widened. She listened as Cassias continued to ramble. "It’s better if we plant things ourselves. We don’t need to search for food so far away then..."
Cassias really cooked the sa soup as last night.
"I can only cook this for the ti being." He suddenly said, "But I will learn to cook other things later."
Zerra stared at his regretful face. "The soup is already delicious. I like it."
Mainly because he had used spring water. She could feel her body getting lighter, as if her real body was slowly recovering. Furthermore, she could actually eat ordinary food even in her fox form.
Not wanting to trouble him, she assured him. "Just the soup is enough. Cook more of it..."
Thinking that an eight-year-old was taking care of her made her feel embarrassed. However, there was nothing she could do. Her movent was sotis a little awkward, as if she hadn’t fully adjusted to her current body.
Like a newborn cub.
As such, she couldn’t help him much besides offering so ingredients to him.
Little Cassias had been creating a plantation field near his house. However, it wasn’t finished yet.
He went back ho to fetch sothing while Zerra stayed in the plantation field, her brain turned. She considered what kinds of vegetables and fruits they should plant here...
Her eyes abruptly widened when she saw Cassias returning. Her heart palpitated with disbelief.
Cassias had exited his house and was walking toward her. He brought a familiar weapon.
A pitchfork.
Its look... wasn’t it too familiar. Just like the weapon she always used. If the pitchfork was with Cassias, how about the one in her inner space?
She hurriedly checked it.
