Although ira was completely an ordinary person, she had been living well at the base, all thanks to her boyfriend, Laziel.

In order not to make her feel excluded, even Laziel sotis brought her along for their missions. He only did that as soon as he acquired the ans to protect himself — the water blades.

However, ultimately, he was still rely one person. When they t a large horde of zombies, he had to expend his power to protect ira along the way.

After that, he still has to console her too, who would be scared and crying. He had told her a few tis to stay safely at the base, yet she often accused him of no longer loving her anymore.

He had no choice but to bring her again.

His eldest sister didn’t seem to like ira too, and whenever he went out on missions with her and Darren, he would need to convince her to let ira join them.

"What is happening?" Laziel demanded, interrupting the tense atmosphere that was about to explode soon.

Seeing her boyfriend, ira’s expression faltered for a mont before she released Darren’s arm. There was an almost undetectable flash of reluctance in her eyes.

She went to Laziel’s side, hiding behind him. In a complaining tone, she told him. "T-they want to take away, but Mr. Valez saved ."

Her head lowered to hide her expression, clutching Laziel’s arm tightly.

Zerra’s gaze shifted to the fierce-looking n not far from Darren, who radiated aggressiveness all over. Here the drama officially began.

"It’s you who started all of this, and now it’s us who beca the bad ones?!" A thin man with a long face shape sneered. He pointed to ira, who shrank further behind her boyfriend.

Her figure trembled slightly, making Laziel’s heart soften again. He was originally furious that she was always sticking to Darren, but... she might have been too scared of those n.

He wasn’t there to protect her, so she had no choice but to seek Darren’s protection. His eyebrows knitted together, trying to figure out what was happening.

"What did she do?" Laziel frowned.

"Why don’t you ask her yourself?" Another man chid in, his face full of fury.

ira bit her lip, shaking her head. Fear swirled in her eyes, and her grasp on his arm beca tighter.

"I-I didn’t do anything!" She suddenly cried out. "It was all of you who started grabbing and wanting to take away."

Her voice trembled, but she still forced herself to speak. "You even said inappropriate words about !"

Laziel’s jaw clenched. With just a few of her words, it was easy to guess what the scumbags wanted to do. His anger boiled, rising higher.

The n had incredulous expressions on their faces when Laziel suddenly attacked. The water blades pierced their skin. Those who didn’t have ti to evade had blood dripping from their limbs.

"You just attacked just like that without confirming the truth?!" The thin man raged. "Obviously, it’s this wench who started first, insulting us."

"Right, one of our n here just wanted to talk to her, not in an inappropriate way. She could just refuse politely and say that she is already taken!"

"She is an ordinary woman with no power. If it’s not because of her pretty face, would anyone be interested in a burden like her?"

ira flinched, and her face turned pale. She hated those words the most! She silently clenched her hands and let out a sob.

It beca the trigger for Laziel. He sent these people another round of water blades, aiming for the vital parts.

However, before they could reach the targets, his water blades broke, then dissipated into thin air, leaving hot steam all over. Laziel’s head abruptly snapped to his sister, who had arrived since unknown when.

There was only one person who could dissolve his water blades so easily, soone who possessed a powerful fire ability–Nyra.

His chest heaved up and down, staring at her in disbelief.

The commotion had actually drawn a lot of attention. So people had already started to look in their direction, openly or discreetly. The drama-loving ones even had to find sowhere to sit.

"Don’t fight at the base." Nyra knitted her eyebrows. Her eyes were full of disapproval when they landed on ira.

Laziel suddenly cald down, and he even wanted to take a few steps back in shock. His eyes were full of frustration.

If he really fought, the base might ban him from entering for so weeks. They might even ban him for life if he killed any of those n. Especially when he had aid at their vital parts earlier.

ira clenched her hands. Her eyes flashed with a brief longing when her eyes swept over Darren. She imdiately ran to Laziel’s side. "Azi... don’t fight. It’s not worth it."

"I-I am fine." She turned to the fierce-looking n and flinched when their eyes t. They were glaring at her. She lowered her head in fear.

Laziel’s jaw clenched, and he finally sighed. He took ira’s hands in his and squeezed them to console her.

"What is happening here?" A voice thundered across the area, bringing everyone’s attention to the incoming figure.

A man in camouflage uniform walked toward them. The small crowd parted for him and his subordinates, who followed him. With just one look, anyone could guess that he was soone with a high-rank in the military based on the insignia on his chest.

"Lieutenant General Byron," others greeted him.

When the fierce-looking n saw Lieutenant General Byron, their eyes lit up as if they had found a backer. They exchanged glances before scrambling to greet him.

Even though most of them didn’t agree with Laziel’s action, the public’s opinion was mostly in favor of ira.

Zerra had managed to listen to the gossip from people around. Her eyes swept to Lieutenant General Byron. This man’s rank was on par with Evan, and they both seed to have a competitive relationship.

Those people seed to be his subordinates too.

"What is happening here?" Lieutenant General Byron’s sharp eyes shifted from the surrounding people to Laziel’s direction.

His subordinates imdiately reported the injustice they had suffered. They spoke of the sa thing: ira had slandered them.
