Liora was still recovering from the shock of seeing Xu Kai when he simply turned his back on her, as if she were nothing more than an insignificant speck of dust. Without a word, without even a glance, he walked away, his broad shoulders disappearing into the darkness of the abandoned shop.

Liora’s jaw dropped. "Are you serious?" she muttered under her breath before storming after him.

"Hey! You rude man!" she called, her voice echoing slightly in the empty space. "Don’t you rember ?" she asked, unable to believe how emotionless he was. There wasn’t even a flicker of recognition in his eyes.

Xu Kai didn’t pause or acknowledge her existence in the slightest. He just kept walking, his strides long and purposeful, as if she weren’t yelling right behind him.

Liora felt a vein pop in her forehead. Was this guy for real? First, he nearly crushed her against the wall like so predator, and now he was ignoring her completely? The audacity!

She jogged to catch up, grabbing his sleeve. "Hey, asshole! I’m talking to you!"

Xu Kai stopped abruptly, and Liora almost crashed into his back. He turned his head slightly, his icy gaze flicking down at her hand gripping his sleeve before shifting up to her face.

"Let go," he said, his tone flat and devoid of emotion.

Liora huffed but released him. "You’re unbelievable! What the hell are you even doing here?"

He didn’t answer. Instead, he continued forward, exiting the small shop. Liora noticed him walking towards two familiar figures—Yang Ming, the gentlemanly man, and Lin Xue, the girl she had also t. Surprisingly, Liora rembered their nas clearly.

Liora stopped mid-step when she received a chilling glare from Xu Kai. His stare was so intense it felt like he would murder her right then and there without a second thought if she took another step forward.

Liora gulped in fear. She had never felt this threatened in her life, so she did not dare move closer.

Xu Kai walked toward them, and Lin Xue and Yang Ming seed too preoccupied with sothing to even notice her. Their expressions were grim and tense. Xu Kai soon joined their discussion.

"The seller from the Black Market, who has the Aether Fruit, is here." That was the only sentence Liora managed to hear before they moved farther away.

"Aether Fruit? Why are they talking about it?" Liora thought to herself. She tried to eavesdrop on their conversation but couldn’t catch anything else.

"Damn," Liora muttered, pulling at her hair in frustration. She wanted to hear more, but that bastard’s glare was enough to keep her at a distance. "Now what? What do I do?" she mumbled in sheer frustration.

"System, do you have any idea how I can hear their thoughts?" Liora asked, hoping the system had a solution.

[Host can hide her breath, making it impossible for them to sense your presence.]

"Really? Give it to !" Liora said excitedly. The system always seed to have exactly what she needed. Just as she was praising it in her mind, its next words crushed her excitent.

[For your kind information, Host, you don’t have enough survival points to buy anything. Your debt has only increased after purchasing two potions last ti.]

"Fuck you! Just get the thing! I’ll pay everything I owe one day. Right now, this mission is more important." Liora knew she wouldn’t sleep peacefully with death looming over her. If she survived, she could always find a way to pay her debt. Drowning in debt was far better than dying.

[As you wish, Host.]

The system responded smoothly before a strange device appeared in Liora’s hand. It was a small gadget with a square center and belts on both sides.

"How do I use it?"

[Just wrap it around your wrist, and it will automatically lock itself in place.]

Liora followed the system’s instructions, securing the device around her small wrist. The mont it locked, she felt the air around her shift slightly before returning to normal. She thought it might be her imagination, but it was real.

[Host, just don’t appear directly in front of them. Even if you stand right behind their backs, they won’t sense you, but that doesn’t an they can’t see you. So try to stay hidden,] the system advised.

Liora nodded instantly and dashed toward their group. They were already far ahead, and she had no idea how much of their conversation she had missed.

Now, just a few steps away from them, she hid behind a wall, close enough to hear them clearly.

"You’re sure the Aether Fruit is real this ti?"

Yang Ming scoffed at Lin Xue’s question. "That’s what we’re here to find out. Word is, soone from this base is the seller. If it’s legit, we need to get it before the auction."

"Auction? What auction? Is it similar to the auction she knew, where people bid for items?"

And they were talking about the seller of the Aether Fruit. Did soone else have that sa fruit as her?

Lin Xue chid in with an annoyed tone. "You know how these sellers are. Always claiming they have the best stuff, but half the ti, it’s useless trash. The last ’miracle fruit’ so idiot sold us was barely worth a hundred thousand low level cores, and we paid ten tis that."

"Tch. That’s why we can’t let it go to auction," Lin Xue continued. "If it’s real, everyone will fight for it. And whoever buys it... they’ll be in serious danger."

After all, the Aether Fruit was a rare find. It was rumored to enhance abilities beyond normal evolution. The mont it hit the auction floor, bidding wars would break out, and whoever won would be a walking target.

Xu Kai finally spoke, his voice calm but commanding. "First, we confirm the seller’s identity. Then, we decide our next move."

Lin Xue and Yang Ming nodded behind him and hurriedly followed.

"Fuck, just how much is this shit worth?" she would have never imagined it if she hadn’t heard it for herself.

A hundred thousand crystal cores for just one Aether Fruit. And the system also said that one crystal core was highly valuable. That ant she was going to be rich.

Money... money... Liora wanted to dance just thinking about it.
