I raised my axe and aid for the rotter, but he surprisingly stopped in his tracks once he was in front of .

His head stopped twitching as he watched . He bumped into my shoulder and stumbled past . I slowly followed the zombie, and while he wasn't looking at , I slamd my axe into his skull.

His body dropped to the ground and I let out a heavy sigh.

What the hell just happened? Why didn't he attack ?

I ran upstairs and bumped into Cooper.

"Watch it." He said while holding a laptop to his chest.

"Charger?" I asked him and he dangled the laptop charger in front of . "Then let's get the hell out of here," I told him and he frowned down at the bloody axe in my hand.

"What happened?" He curiously wanted to know as we made our way downstairs.

"A rotter ca storming at in the hallway," I uttered as we left the house. "But it was weird-"

"What do you an weird?"

"It didn't attack . I stood face to face with a rotter- and it didn't attack ." I told Cooper in disbelief.

"Wait, for real?" He asked in shock.

"Yeah, it walked right past and into the wall," I told Cooper.

"Holy shit, it must be because you're immune to the virus right?" He asked and I nodded at him.

"I think so. I an do you rember how DeAndre said that viruses mutate when exposed to new conditions? I an, we studied this in biology; I should've known." I told Cooper as we walked over to our car and he frowned at .

"Should've known what?" He asked .

"Well, my theory is that the virus failed to infect like it would a normal host. Now it lingers in my system, altering itself to survive in a host that doesn't turn." I stated before climbing into the car.

"Okay and?" Cooper asked as he settled in behind the steering wheel. He started the car and slowly drove down the street.

"Well, think about it: instead of outright killing , the virus changed its strategy, becoming symbiotic rather than destructive. Creating sothing called a "Carrier" strain." I told him and he just slowly nodded at .

"Right," he slowly uttered.

"I carry a mutated strain of the NecroVirus in , so, practically I'm invisible to the infected," I uttered in disbelief.

"Holy shit," Cooper uttered while smiling in disbelief.

"Do you think- we should- test my theory?" I asked him and he shot a devilish smile.

"Hell yeah!" He told and I excitedly rubbed my hands together. Cooper slacked past four rotters walking down the road.

"Stop the car," I told him and he pulled off on the side of the road. "Stay inside the car, okay?" I asked him and he nodded at .

"I'll cover you." He uttered before rolling down his window and aiming at the rotters behind us. "And please try not to die." He nervously told and I nodded at him before jumping out of the car.

I grabbed my axe before walking up to the rotters. They froze in their steps as soon as they saw .

"See?" I yelled back at Cooper.

"Yeah, now get your ass back over here!" He yelled at .

I turned around and walked away from the rotters. I curiously looked over my shoulder and frowned when I found them following . I stopped in my tracks and they mimicked my movents.

I walked a little to my right and so did they. I walked left and they followed shortly behind .

"Are they following you?" Cooper asked in disbelief.

"I think so," I yelled in panic.

"Well, get rid of them," Cooper told , and I instantly turned around and swung my axe into a rotten skull. The rotter's body thudded to the ground, and I moved on to the next two. They didn't even put up a fight before I killed them.

I squeezed my eyes shut before cutting my axe into the last rotter's skull. I ran back over to the car before jumping inside, and Cooper started driving again, slowly picking up his pace.

"What the fuck just happened?" He asked in shock.

"They just followed ," I uttered in the sa tone.

"So you're like a little zombie queen." He stated and I narrowed my eyes on him.

"Don't call that."

"I an I'd be honored if soone called a zombie queen. But to each their own." He said and we both started laughing.

"I don't think anyone would ever call you a queen, Cooper. Not even in your dreams." I laughed and he held onto his stomach with one hand while laughing loudly.

"You know what I ant." He uttered and I laughed at him.

We kept our conversation going as we drove ho. We arrived at the house after driving for about thirty minutes.

We jumped out of the car and made our way up to the house.

There was a Jeep Wrangler parked in front of the house, and Cooper held his hand out in front of in a protective way.

"Stay out here, okay?" He told and I nodded at him in understanding. He took his gun out before taking the safety off. He quietly continued into the house and my heart rapidly started beating in my chest.

"Cooper, wait-" I uttered, but he had already disappeared into the house. I clenched my fist around my axe before jogging into the house.

I made my way into the living room and ca to an abrupt stop. Cooper's mouth went agape at the sight of the man standing in front of us.

Anger started boiling in as I saw Oliver standing next to him. I bet they're in cahoots with each other now.

"What the hell is he doing here?" I angrily asked Oliver.

"I just ca here to talk. I don't want any trouble." He told while raising his hands in defense.

"So, talk! You have five minutes." I angrily told him.

"You might want to sit down for this one." He said, before running a tired hand over his head.
