The bottled water was also packaged in 10 bottles.

"How convenient." She muttered under her breath.

She glanced at the research base, which was huge and had another white door leading to the hallway. The microscope, syringe, computers, and laboratory were covered with a thin layer of transparent cover.

She wanted to explore the place, but she glanced at the bottled water. "I’ll co back after I give the water out."

She stacked four packets on her arms. The other six, she moved them into her space.

When she ca out of the research base, Alexander instantly straightened his back.

"I thought you ditched ." He muttered, reaching out to help her carry the water.

"You don’t have to." She walked past him.

Alexander, stunned by her sudden avoidance, frowned. "Why are you avoiding like a plague? I was only trying to help."

"I know, but I didn’t ask for your help. I can carry it." She said, walking out of the warehouse.

When she got outside the temperature had risen to 35 degrees, and the humidity was rising drastically.

The workers were now resting under the trees. So of them, sweating and turning red already.

Laurel quickened her pace. She dropped the water on the ground, she took one of the bottles of water and drank from it. Instantly, she felt a cold sensation running through her veins, and the weather wasn’t hot anymore.

Completely sure it was safe to drink. She began to distribute the water.

Alexander helped her distribute the water too. Although he had never done sothing like this before... if it would make her happy and a little less mad at him, he would do it, even when the sun was scorching hot.

Imdiately, the workers drank the water, their bodies suddenly turned colder and the temperature no longer affected them.

"Thank you, Mrs. Wayne."

"Thank you, Mr. Wayne."

They all said in appreciation. Although they felt energised and completely cool off, they just thought it was because the water was cold and nothing out of the ordinary.

After they had a little rest, they started working again, this ti more efficiently than before.

Alexander wiped off the sweat from his forehead.

"Here," Laurel handed him the last remaining water.

He wanted to refuse and claim he doesn’t drink just any water, after all his own bottled water was specially treated and had a high standard. But how could he refuse her, when she showed him a little kindness?

He took the water from her, twisting the cap open, and he took a sip from it. "Thank you."

Laurel glanced at her wrist watch. It was almost 6pm. She was going to et with Chris, and she had to prepare his dicine.

She stared at the sky, the sun would go down by 7pm. She turned to Alexander.

"I have an appointnt, I have to leave now."

Alexander’s brows arched in question, but he didn’t say anything. "Alright, I’ll keep watch over things here."

Laurel nodded before walking away.

....

Laurel whistled as she got to the gate of the Wayne mansion. The guard quickly opened the electronic gate the mont he saw her.

However, before Laurel could drive inside, soone suddenly ran in the way. She hit the brake abruptly, her head hitting the steering wheel.

She groaned in pain, when she lifted her head, her eyes narrowed both in anger and confusion.

’Why is this pretentious snake here?’ She thought to herself as she stared at Camile, who looked like the world was resting on her shoulders.

Her makeup sared on her face, due to crying and sweating.

Camile hurried to the side of her door, banging on it for her to roll down, and she was a crying ss.

Laurel shot her a glance, before stepping off the brake, the car drove inside the mansion, leaving Camile outside.

Laurel’s heart clenched, but she pushed the feeling down. She knew Alexander had been manipulated by her in her past life, but that doesn’t an she would forgive him.

As for Camile, that was another story on a whole different level. She was personally going to make her pay, and she would watch her lose everything dear to her.

She won’t take her life...no, that was too rciful, she wanted her life unbearable.

Seeing Camile’s tears she had already fixed the puzzles together. It ant the little string she pulled when treating Chris had finally paid off.

When Laurel stepped out of her car. Camile ran towards her from a distance, calling her na.

"Laurel!" Camile wailed.

Laurel ignored her, walking towards the entrance of the mansion.

Camile threw herself on her. She missed her by an inch, as Laurel stepped to a side. Camile fell hard on the ground, her elbows bleeding from the impact.

Her eyes darkened with hatred for a second at the humiliating position. But she swallowed her pride, she needed any money she could get, only then could she and the Severance group have as many bases as they wanted.

Camile grabbed Laurel’s foot, wrapping her hand around her leg like a child clinging to her mother’s leg. "Sister...sister, help!" She cried, squeezing her eyes.

Laurel’s lips twitched in disgust, she tried to shake her off her foot, however, Camile was holding onto her tightly like a koala to a tree.

"Let go of ." Laurel snapped at her.

Camile’s eyes narrowed in accusation. "How could you be so an? You see in this state and you are not even worried? Do you know what I went through? Laurel, please listen to your sister for a minute... just one, I don’t know why you have changed so much.

And why are you treating like this? Don’t tell being Mrs. Wayne had gotten into your head that you forgot our family bond." Camile paused, studying Laurel’s expression. When she saw that they remained blank.

She cried harder. Ever since they were little, Laurel could not bear seeing her cry, what was different now?

"Laurel, Chris broke up with , and he took everything away from . I don’t have a ho, or any money. Help , help your sister, please."

Laurel turned to face her, she squatted to her level. She slowly unwrapped Camile’s hands from her foot.

Camile sat up, retracting her hand when she noticed Laurel was giving her attention. How could her little crying trick not work? She thought to herself.

"Sister?" Laurel asked coldly. "I don’t rember having one." Her expression was that of hurt, like a good person trying to be a villain. "I don’t want to see you anymore, don’t co here again, you’re not welco."

Laurel said slowly, she wanted her words to get into her head, then she rose up slowly, turned around, and walked towards the mansion.

Camile was left speechless, tears dropping from her eyes uncontrollably. She couldn’t believe the ek and kind sister of hers could be this cruel.
